25.01.2022 TREE SHOWER! At our first site meeting back in May, our clients asked me what we could come up with for this big beautiful (but dead) Eucalyptus which sadly had to come down. A few ideas cropped up but the most exciting option was turning it into a shower. We requested that a large section of the trunk remain in the ground and the creation evolved from there.... We worked with @old_soul_images who fabricated and installed the oversized shower rose from spun gal, and reclaimed industrial style gate valves. A true wizard! A cool natural feature in this rustic space we've created #landscape #design #construction #garden #outdoorshower #pool

24.01.2022 PANTON HILL HOTEL- Being my local pub, it was an honour to be asked to design the outdoor space for this Iconic establishment. The brief was to create a large leveled space of rolling lawns and earthy gravels, giving patrons ample space to enjoy the grounds and overlook the two refurbished dams many would not have known existed. We worked alongside Complete Landscape Construction who took care of a lot of the landscaping and left us to take care of the fencing and project m...anagement. We were aiming for a real chunky solid statement post and rail farm fence, and and needed premium materials and construction methods to compliment This was a big job, each post weighing in at around 150kg, and over 100 mortises all hand chiseled, this fence is built using no fixings and will no doubt stand the test of time. Panton Hill Hotel, like the rest of the hospitality industry have worked through a huge amount of obstacles this year, and the work that has gone into this project inside and out is a testament to its management. Get down for a beer at your next opportunity and support local! @pantonhillhotel @completelandscapeconstruction @rustic_world_timbers #landscape #design #construction #rural #fencing #hardwood #pub #local #hospitality #rustic #timber #carpentry #craftsman

24.01.2022 Front of house at our Donvale project. This project is in the environmental catchment of the Mullum Mullum reserve. A careful native planting schedule was chosen for the large block. We’ve used Granite boulders and crushed Granite pathways to connect the landscape with the Granite facade of the house #landscape #design #construction #architecture #environment #native #indigenous #garden

24.01.2022 The Joshua Tree continues to grow! Welcome to the newest member of our team, Regan. Regan had been working casually with us for a few months, but quickly found a passion for our trade and decided he wanted to begin his apprenticeship in Landscaping. Outside of work, Regan has a passion for Football, Cricket and losing his walletWe look forward to helping Regan develop his skills #landscape #construction #apprenticeship #career #smallbusiness #business #employment

23.01.2022 Back of house from our Donvale project. Rolling green Bermuda lawns, a native planting schedule, steel edging and Honey granite pathways. An environmentally conscious garden and perfect spot for some backyard cricket! #landscape #design #construction #garden #native #indigenous #flora #ecosystem

23.01.2022 Nice little job in Heathmont last week extending a car parking space. We did an extension on the rear concrete wall with a earthy/ tuscan style render, as well as a concrete extension on the driveway. Nice to follow in the wake of some of @rockwalls_melbourne beautiful stone work #landscape #design #construction #concrete #render #stone #stonemasonry #rock #mudstone

22.01.2022 Our latest crazy paved Mudstone boulder driveway in Eltham! With the protection of our customers towering Yellow box as a high priority the design of the driveway had to be permeable for the best health of the Gum. The previous gravel driveway was causing too much of a mess and our client wanted to keep the space as natural as possible. These mudstones each weigh around 300kg and vary in thickness, so whilst just as tedious as regular paving, it had to be set out and construc...ted in a very different way. We’ve planted out between the rocks with a Native Violet which over time will creep its way between all the rocks creating a green carpet and is very durable. We also used Mudstone to build some steps and sawn slabs for steppers. A great, thoughtful solution to a practical problem which sits perfectly in its leafy surrounds #landscape #design #construction #nature #environment #protection #eucalyptus #driveway #rock #garden #native @ Eltham, Victoria, Australia See more

22.01.2022 Honey Granite retention boulders and a sweeping staircase of Jarrah giants leading up to our recently completed Eltham project #landscape #design #construction #natural #architecture #rustic #sustainable #reclaimed #organic #firepit #earthworks #garden #rockery

21.01.2022 Another shot from our recently completed Eltham project. We designed this area showcasing the stark difference between naturalism and modernism. This angle shows off our custom pool fencing, all steel and powder coated. The SilverTop Ash vertical batten screen, and the shade sail which we designed and installed. This space will be an all year round hub for our happy customers #landscape #design #construction #carpentry #landsaping #fencing #pool #spa #modernism #naturalism #shade # summer #hardwood #ecofriendly #sustainable

20.01.2022 Two years on from our St Helena front landscape project and we're so impressed with how this garden is maturing. The colorful palette of the native plants contrasts seamlessly with the ancient Granite boulders, heavy wharf timbers and rusty corten steel! This garden is 99% self sustainable with virtually no watering requirements and virtually no weeds due to the native planting schedule dominating 95% of the available garden bed space #landscape #design #construction #garden #sustainable #native #indigenous #plants #boulder #recycled #earthworks #kubota @ St Helena, Victoria

20.01.2022 A shot from our current Eltham project rolling over from 2019. Our design showcases a sleek contrast between a very natural palette combined with sharp industrial elements. Monster granite boulders circle a gravel fire pit area including organic slate steppers, while a custom powder coated steel fence sections off the spa. More photos to come of this exciting project!

19.01.2022 Here’s our Bluestone crazy paving project in Wattle Glen! This project included a curving second hand red brick wall, with a built in Bluestone bench seat. We also installed a rustic, pool compliant screen, built from reclaimed railway sleepers and corten steel. And the main event, our intricate organic crazy paving. For this project we didn’t purchase any standard pool copers, and instead hand shaped and honed Bullnoses on site. This creates a seamless transition between the coping and paving - a detail which was more than worth the effort #landscape #design #construction #garden #pool #bluestone #paving #stonemasonry #summer

18.01.2022 Here’s a beautiful shot of our Smiths Gully garden steps one year on. The plants have come to life and softened the reclaimed rustic timbers - Looks like they’ve been there forever #landscape #design #construction #garden #country #rural #rustic #reclaimed

18.01.2022 After living with my family in Eltham for the past 18 months, Nikki, Chisel and I have moved back up to our community in St Andrews. We’ll be living on this amazing off-grid bush property as the last chapter before embarking on our very own off- grid build. I draw a lot of inspiration from the natural world for the designs and builds that we do at Joshua Tree, so living on a property like this is both calming and stimulating for me. We’re so grateful for the time we’ve spent back with my family, but now onto the next adventure! @ Saint Andrews, Victoria

16.01.2022 Knocked up this rustic towel rack for @nikkiwilkinson1 and I, using leftover materials I’ve been collecting. The frame is built using Sugar Gum bush poles from a previous playground project, and Ironbark offcuts from some farm gates we’re currently building. The bottom shelf is Silvertop Ash decking left over from a job in Northcote last year, and the top shelf is a slab of Sydney Blue Gum which I free hand milled by chainsaw about 2 or 3 years ago. Finally, the rails are some gal pipe from an old clothes line. Built strong, this piece suits our little bush cottage perfectly! #landscape #design #construction #interiordesign #woodworking #furniture #bathroom #mudbrick #cottage #country #rustic #recycle #sustainable @ Saint Andrews, Victoria

16.01.2022 Our recent Thornbury project all wrapped up, Silver top Ash on Silver Top Ash. Silver top Ash is Victorian hardwood from the Stringy bark family known for its gum vein and curly figure. It's low carbon mileage has huge environmental benefits for Victorian projects, as well as having good durability and bushfire prone qualities. This project features a new decking, bench seat and a vertical batten feature screen which will make this a very trendy Thornbury backyard #design #construction #sustainable #recycle #ecofriendly #entertainment #outdoors #realestate #carpentry #landscape #timber #hardwood #battens @ Thornbury, Victoria

12.01.2022 Welcoming to the team, our newest apprentice- Millsy. Formerly known as Josh, Millsy quickly inherited the name Millsy on site for obvious reasons. Outside of work, Millsy is a gun footy player being a big player in the Northern football league. Millsy has shown a great commitment to the company over the last few months and we look forward to helping him grow as a landscaper. #landscape #construction #apprentice #career #smallbusiness #business #employment

12.01.2022 Basalt and Bluestone from our recently completed Diamond Creek project! It doesn't get much more natural than these beautiful Basalt steps sawn from a huge Basalt boulder! We've also edged the Buffalo turf with some curving Bluestone blocks leading to a circular fire pit. This will be a fantastic space for young Benji to play with all his toy trucks and diggers #landscape #design #construction #nature #environment #rock #garden #bluestone #basalt #steps #machinery @ Diamond Creek, Victoria, Australia

09.01.2022 A closer look at our pool compliant safety fencing from our Wattle Glen project. Standard glass pool fencing was the original plan to secure this pool space however our customers were seeking a solution which would create privacy as well as tie into the natural rustic features of our design. This reclaimed railway sleeper and Corten steel screen ticks both boxes as well as complies with regulations. It also includes a self closing, self latching large steel gate using a heavy duty hydraulic hinge #landscape #design #construction #pool #summer #fencing #rustic #reclaimed #recycled

09.01.2022 Sandstone paving finished up on our Greensborough project the other week. Diamond pattern, with border putting a slightly formal contrast next to the Bluestone walls we built earlier. This huge entertaining area will look great after a new roof and bbq go in #landscape #design #construction #paving #retainingwalls #sandstone #bluestone #garden #formal #rustic @ Greensborough, Victoria

09.01.2022 Farm gates in at Smiths Gully. We crafted these gates using 140x50 solid Ironbark, and hung them on 200x200 Ironbark posts. A pretty fun job for us, being able to build the gates on our own property just across the hill. We've used some pretty special 900mm custom pointed strap hinges which really give these gates the detail they deserve, even the girls in the paddock were impressed! #landscape #design #construction #gates #farm #rural #local #australian #woodworking #cattle @ Smiths Gully, Victoria, Australia

08.01.2022 We've felt pretty lucky to have this is as our office for the past week! Large concrete paving pool surrounds on this stunning Panton Hill property. Not a bad spot to kick back with a beer at the end of the day

08.01.2022 A closer look at our bevelled edge Silver Top Ash Batten screen from our Eltham project last year. Another one going up on a current project in Thornbury. A very effective contemporary backdrop

07.01.2022 Our latest design and construct project in Montmorency just completed over the weekend. This project features an elevated Coreten steel ring lawn area, surrounded by carefully positioned granite boulders and softened with a colourful palette of native trees, grasses and shrubs. This space is going to fill out beautifully over the next 12 months, inviting lots of local birds to share this garden with its new owners #landscape #design #construction #excavations #rockwork #planting #native #australia #flora #bush #indigenous #local #turf #garden #rust @ Montmorency, Victoria, Australia

06.01.2022 Indian slate down on our Rosanna project, such a beautiful stone which shows a different colour from every angle you look at it #paving #stonemasonry #landscape #natural #outdoors #renovation #construction #design #entertaining #rustic #slate #stone @ Rosanna, Victoria

05.01.2022 We were invited back to our recently completed Montmorency project to build a new Merbau deck. The deck adjoins an existing decking with the laundry but also features a curved nook, perfect for a morning coffee- connecting our clients to their recently landscaped backyard. The curved section is featured from the lower level with some staggered Cypress soldier posts which tie in with the Cypress bar top, handrail and steps. A unique approach to a practical objective #landscape #design #construction #carpentry #decking #garden #native #curves @ Montmorency, Victoria, Australia

03.01.2022 Bluestone walls in on our current Greensborough project. We’ve been busy on this job for a couple of weeks now with some major earthworks, concrete slabs and foundations, Bluestone walls and now we’ve made a start on the Sandstone paving. Looking forward to seeing this project come together over the the next week or so #landscape #design #construction #architecture #garden #backyard #entertaining #bluestone #stonemasonry #salvaged

01.01.2022 RESEARCH More than 18 months on from our Research project, I had the pleasure of stopping in to check out the progress. One of our favourite designs, with some fantastic, rustic materials in a beautiful bushy setting. 01.01.2022 Finished up our slate crazy paving project in St Andrews today! This was a demolish and recycle job where we pulled up the existing paving, chipped off all the mortar and re-laid them, cutting each and every single piece in creating uniform joints. Shout out to our 3rd year Pat, who was responsible for a good portion of this job, taking pride in his work and putting out a very high standard of work imperative to a quality crazy paving result. Well done Pat! #landscape #design #construction #paving #garden #natural #recycle #reclaimed #stone #rural #local @ Saint Andrews, Victoria
