24.01.2022 I've been a busy bee of late and have a lot to share over the next month or two. Here's a little something on the blog to wet your appetite with. http://josierichardsonphotography.com.au//medium-format-oh

24.01.2022 And because I like to mix things up, here's a group shot from Cindy and Shane's wedding. We found some more warehouses :)

22.01.2022 'Heartfelt': When the words of your groom move you so much, waiting till the end of the ceremony to kiss is just too long. #fujineopan #mamiya645 #filmphotographer

22.01.2022 Jayden and Matt share a quiet moment together. One of the most beautiful and magical weddings I've shot to date for so many reasons. #bronica645 #portra800 #mediumformat #angourie #yambawedding

22.01.2022 Donna and Matt circle the alter to signify their union. I love the way Ilford 3200 makes the light bounce. #bwphotography #bwfilm #ilford3200 #mediumformat #filmphotographer #donnaandmatt

20.01.2022 I was blown away by how much the colour of these pretty dresses popped when I got the film back from this wedding. Link in first comment.

19.01.2022 Erin and Jason. Not sure if I could have asked for light any better than this. What a beautiful, if not a wee bit warm, summer afternoon it was. #portra160 #mamiya645 #summerlight #byronbaywedding

17.01.2022 Here's a lovely, sun-filled wedding on the blog today for those of us enjoying a wet weekend in South-East Qld and Northern NSW. This photo's rich colour comes from medium format Portra 160, and the warm summer's day of course. Link in the first comment. #portra160 #Mamiya645 #byronbaywedding

16.01.2022 I don't think I've seen anyone party at a wedding quite like the Greeks do, they really don't let anything stop them! I'm happy to proven wrong of course;) I can't wait to experience the myriad of cultures who know how to get their party on! #donnaandmatt #digital #brisbaneweddingphotgrapher #hillstonewedding

16.01.2022 I only got the chance to meet Cindy and Shane on a very wet Friday the day before they married. 'Warehouses' Cindy said, 'I like warehouses'. I drove around in the pouring rain and Friday traffic for some time trying to find a suitable location with little to show for it. The morning of the wedding I checked out a familiar place in South Brisbane and thankfully the rain stopped. On Friday I was worried but then came Saturday. Thank you Saturday.

16.01.2022 Good morning world and happy Sunday! It's the last day of Autumn here in Oz and the last day of Spring in the northern hemisphere so I guess it's fair to say that wedding photographers the world over are a wee bit busy right now. The change in season always puts a tingle in the air, no matter where you are. Here's a snap of Morgan and Aya at their wedding in Japan on a lovely Spring day in April this year. #mamiya645 #mediumformat #filmphotography #portra160 #japanesewedding

16.01.2022 Today's hot sun has finally gone past the horizon. I suspect it won't really cool down in my house though until about 3:00am tomorrow. Wish I was here (as in this photo, not here in Brisbane ;)

12.01.2022 Prior to the ceremony of Jayden's wedding, she wanted to walk along the rocks and across the beach to reach the point at the end where Matt would be waiting. I had so much equipment with me that day there was no way I would be carrying it all with me so I gave some of the cameras and the film I didn't need to one of the guests to take to the site for me beforehand. I then of course realised I hadn't packed the BW film I wanted, I had a location and shot in mind and it had to ...be BW. With 10 minutes to spare I drove down to the beach and the guests kindly carrying my stuff were almost all the way out to the point. I ran as fast as my little legs could carry me across the sand dunes to get that roll of film, grateful for the handful of step classes I'd been doing (surely that made some difference?!) I got the film, made it back in time and all was well. I think this shot of Jayden made it all worthwhile. #ilfordhp5 #bwfilm #filmphotography #angourie #yambawedding See more

10.01.2022 My grandmother was an excellent cook and made a mean fruit cake. When I was little I said that one day she would make my wedding cake, to which she laughed and said, 'not likely'. She passed away when I was 17. So when I see grandparents at weddings I'm always a little jealous and very happy that for the couple getting married they get to enjoy the presence of these valuable members of the family. Caroline and Joseph had both their grandmothers at their wedding and they were also their witnesses. Frequently throughout the day I saw how precious it was to all four that these matriarchs were able to be part of such a special event.

08.01.2022 I'm at the Byron Bay Wedding Fair! What a beautiful day it has turned out to be. It may've have rained a tad last week

05.01.2022 This is my little brother Morgan. I met him when he was 5 when our parents hooked up. From the beginning he loved to draw and make stupid noises. When he was 12 he changed the words to 'Achy Breaky Heart' and had me in stitches with laughter. When my boy was a little toddler, Morgan taught him how to be cheeky to his grandfather. Morgan introduced me to 'The IT Crowd' for which I am forever grateful. He doesn't take life seriously, he takes it very un-seriously and makes ...the rest of us laugh in the process. Here he is about to tie the knot. I can still see that same cheeky face he arrived with as a cute little 5 year old, all those years ago. See more

03.01.2022 As it is New Year's Day I feel like it's a good time to reflect on times gone by, to take the time to remember those who matter to us and the friends and family who have helped us create memories, the memories that make us who we are. Today on the blog I'm sharing a series of my silly and funny son with his bright and beautiful girlfriend to remind us of the important things in life. Link in first comment.

03.01.2022 My 2014 retrospective. What a wonderful year of photography. It wasn't until I looked back over everything in preparation for this post that I realised how many photos I'd managed to take! Enjoy :) http://josierichardsonphotography.com.au//1/16/2014-best-of

02.01.2022 The bringing together of those that matter most to you in life, those that have influenced who you are, is possibly one of the best aspects of a wedding day. Couples often go to great lengths to ensure guests are well entertained in the break between the ceremony and reception. Skye and Keelan certainly put on a lovely spread. There is always so much going on during this time as everyone relaxes comfortably into a sunny afternoon with a drink in hand and a nibble to eat. People take the time to catch up with friends and family, play a game of ring toss or giant jenga, sit on the lawn or help themselves to appetising morsels of food and drink. All the guests need do is participate and have a great time. My job is to capture it. #skyeandkeelan #newfarmpark #newfarmrotunda #filmphotographer
