13.01.2022 Some recent "bottle studies". I have an obsession with bottles and jugs. I paint and draw them as part of my take on the age old genre 'momento mori' and the 'vanitas'. They represent the decorative and the functional, the seen and the tangible. I began adding hints of the figurative into my still life rather than the typical lemon or apple...a reminder of what is fleeting, what will pass and what will remain eternally, what will be 'through the glass' and beyond.
