25.01.2022 Another part of the brief included opening up the living area to allow for a family space. The large living room was separated by double sliding cavity doors, steel and timber engineered to allow for removing the walls including special fabrication for the staircase.

25.01.2022 The clients at this house wanted something a little different with a double shower over a long bath.

25.01.2022 This bathroom was renovated so that it was more accessible and safety was a consideration. The client sourced dual purpose shower rail and towel rails that are also grab rails. The existing laundry was updated with new overheads and splashback. Here's a before and a few of the finished product.

25.01.2022 Our clients were inspired by The Block for their ensuite renovation. Thanks to the amazing team we have, we managed to fulfil the client's expectations between the end of lockdown and Christmas. Whilst we are booked ahead for quite a while, if you are considering a renovation next year, we would be happy to listen to your ideas, provide some professional input and follow up with a fully itemised quotation. Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2021 from the team at Jo's makeovers

23.01.2022 Our client selected their fixtures and tiles from Beaumont Tiles in Mentone and tall cabinet by Aseada. Painting by Women at Work and thanks to the entire team at Jos makeovers. Beaumont Tiles Clark Glass

23.01.2022 I know we are all going through a very difficult time so we (the team and the clients) are very glad that this small ensuite was finished over the weekend.

22.01.2022 Recently completed laundry, separate loo and bathroom renovation in Highett. The old window with central shaving cabinet was removed and a new window supplied and installed. The clients also wanted an additional toilet in the bathroom.

22.01.2022 New web page coming so heres a few photos for our facebook followers

22.01.2022 Project completed in Cheltenham after a few structural issues came to light. Complete re-build of sub-floor required and new stumps to external wall to straighten as much as possible. Heres a couple of before, during and after shots.

20.01.2022 Opening up the kitchen and living area is one thing that most people want to do. In this instance, we removed a wall that separated the kitchen which meant a lovely view to the park across the road. The pantry was created by using the small existing space and the old hot water service cupboard in the laundry.

20.01.2022 The house wasnt particularly old but nevertheless, the clients wanted to do make some changes to their new home. The look they are going for is typically "Hamptons" style. The brief included removing the built in cupboards in the kitchen dining area and building banquette seating with wall panelling behind in the kitchen and similar seating for the pool room area. The mantlepiece was changed as well.

20.01.2022 Whilst this clients house in Cheltenham isnt old, the ensuite was a bit chunky for their liking. Heres a before and a couple of after photos. Black fixtures and fittings are certainly making an impact these days. Thanks to the team for getting this one finished the day before lockdown.

20.01.2022 What an amazing vanity unit and hand made arch mirror cabinets.

20.01.2022 Our clients in Paul Street Cheltenham opted for a laundry makeover in this instance and a change of 20mm stone to 40mm - Caesarstone Statuario Maximus - kitchen and powder room to follow upon completion

20.01.2022 Large, full scale renovation in Brighton that started some months ago in a solid brick townhouse. Lets open up the downstairs says our client - lets call in the engineer and get some steel put in! The ceiling is a solid concrete slab so its a big job!

19.01.2022 Over the last several months we have been working on a project in Brighton that has involved removing solid brick walls in a townhouse. The work has involved significant engineering and lateral thinking. Here are a few of the bathroom upstairs - before and after including hand made tiled shelves for bath and shower, due to solid brick construction.

17.01.2022 Kitchen makeover and powder room upgrade in Paul Street Cheltenham completed with a happy client (I think hes happy anyway) as per photo. I couldnt resist!

17.01.2022 Hello all. Just a quick heads up that the new Jo's makeovers web page is live this week. Thanks to Trudy Photography for many of the new images. Additional photos to be added after lockdown. Thanks to the fabulous clients who allowed access to their homes for the photos.

17.01.2022 Beautiful new windows to match the existing units at a new project in Brighton. Thanks Bayview Curves - perfectly measured and manufactured and fitted by Jos makeovers carpenters. First photo shows original windows from outside and new windows from inside. Finishing to be done when next on site.

17.01.2022 Stage 1 of a full house makeover - create a master suite with walk in robe and ensuite from the bedroom and family bathroom that was accessed from the hallway and a large linen cupboard. The before photo shows the full wall with wardrobe which was opened up to create the ensuite and walk in robe.

16.01.2022 Another two bedroom unit renovation - this one in Oakleigh South. We opened up the kitchen and laundry to create a larger space and the client opted to darken up the floorboards. The toilet space was incorporated into the bathroom and new cabinets throughout the kitchen and laundry. Great selections by the client have added to the contemporary look. Heres the bathroom before and after. #JKrumeichTiling

15.01.2022 Ensuite renovation recently completed in Beaumaris. Original room had separate loo and a wall with recesses. The wall was straightened up and the wardrobe took the toilet footprint. Win/win with a larger walk in wardrobe and clean, straight lines for the ensuite. Floating vanity made with 6mm porcelain and the client chose all the beautiful fixtures. Shower base had to be raised platform due to construction of house. #ReeceBathrooms #ContemporaryFinishesVic #EleganceTiles

14.01.2022 The carpenters have done an absolutely brilliant job here where a lovely deck had a low, closed ceiling and it has now been opened up to create an airy open feel using external lining boards. The area above the kitchen is now a large storage area accessed from the master bedroom upstairs.

14.01.2022 Your bathroom is a sanctuary and sometimes it just has to be exactly how you imagine it. I believe that the client's vision for this renovation was exceeded with the hand made shaving cabinet mirror, gold finishes and vintage basin.

13.01.2022 Heres something a bit different - landscaping at a project where the only access is through the house so this has been done first. Not quite finished as theres a sculpture and lighting to come. Thanks Petal Landscaping for an awesome job!

13.01.2022 A very bespoke renovation on a one bedroom unit for a lady with a flair for the vintage look. The before and after speak for themselves in this instance.

12.01.2022 Recently completed renovation of family bathroom and separate toilet. Quite often its helpful to family life if you can add in a basin to the separate toilet to create a powder room and it works well for this family.

11.01.2022 Whilst we are working on the new web page, heres another couple of photos from Trudy Photography. The blue bathroom was a rebuild of the entire sub-floor and the left hand side tiles are original and the right hand side and floor, all new. I couldnt believe I found a tile that was so close a match. For the upstairs, we took out a bidet, put in a few tiles that the client had, changed the vanity and shower screen.

11.01.2022 At Jos makeovers, we are working, albeit in a different way to usual, as are most people. We have been fortunate to have a couple of larger projects in progress but we have three small projects that have been postponed (due to not being able to work within the guidelines at these particular houses), so we have the opportunity to slot in a smaller project or two. To remain within the guidelines, we will start any new projects with one or two carpenters and one of that team wi...ll remain on site as required. On our current projects, we have been either blocking the work area from the residents, or restricting access to the work area during the day, so that we can ensure social distancing. When the next trade is on site, they are generally there alone i.e. electrician roughs in on one day and the plumber the next. The effect of this is that the projects take a little longer but they are nevertheless completed as the other associated trades (cabinetmaker, stonemason, plasterer, tiler, glazier etc.) are working too, all within the guidelines. Good luck and keep safe everyone! See more

11.01.2022 Once again, we have worked for this family previously. After the bathroom renovation, they have asked us to return to update the kitchen and laundry. The finishes are all laminate and the cabinetry was done by #aseada cabinets and carpentry.

11.01.2022 Now kitchen and laundry area before and after....

10.01.2022 This small ensuite project was started first up this year. The ensuite has a window which meant that we fixed architraves on three sides to obtain maximum space for the shower and instead of a plastic base, we built a base which allowed for a level entry, tiled shower. The cabinet on the left hand side has a power point for chargers and gives more storage, given the position of the window.

09.01.2022 We have worked for these clients several times and they asked us back to do a kitchen makeover and to renovate their study. New Rylock double glazed vertical sashless windows were installed and a wall to wall cupboard built in the study. The cornice was no longer available so the plasterer used pieces from inside the wardrobe to patch it in to existing. In the kitchen the benchtop, vertical panels and reverse panels were changed, along with the tiled splashback.

08.01.2022 New web page coming so here's a few photos for our facebook followers

06.01.2022 Whilst we are working on the new web page, here's another couple of photos from Trudy Photography. The blue bathroom was a rebuild of the entire sub-floor and the left hand side tiles are original and the right hand side and floor, all new. I couldn't believe I found a tile that was so close a match. For the upstairs, we took out a bidet, put in a few tiles that the client had, changed the vanity and shower screen.

06.01.2022 Our client found a leak under the shower base so this upper level bathroom had to be renovated at short notice before Christmas. The before photos show the extent of the leak. Luckily the water hadnt penetrated through to the downstairs ceiling.

06.01.2022 Whilst this clients' house in Cheltenham isn't old, the ensuite was a bit chunky for their liking. Here's a before and a couple of after photos. Black fixtures and fittings are certainly making an impact these days. Thanks to the team for getting this one finished the day before lockdown.

05.01.2022 The two bedroom unit in Cheltenham is finished and here are a couple of photos of the bathroom where we had to replace the window and we took half the toilet space to create a larger footprint.

05.01.2022 Attention to detail by the carpenters on site today at a project in Cheltenham. Takes time but the end result will be fantastic.

03.01.2022 Kitchen and butlers pantry in Mentone for a family that loves to cook

02.01.2022 Clients in Black Rock wanted to lighten up the heaviness of the stone top in the kitchen. Believe it or not, we managed to break out the stone without damaging the splashback. We added two straight drawer banks instead of angled to create a more useable area. The timber floor was cut back and we retiled the floor to suit the new cabinets and the cabinetmaker fitted new stainless steel look kickers. Here's a few before and after photos.

02.01.2022 Total transformation renovation (I love saying that and borrowed from Selling Houses Australia!). Heres a few before and after photos or the bedrooms and entry hallway.

01.01.2022 Not our usual makeover but a makeover nevertheless, at a friends house before lock down

01.01.2022 Our clients in Sandringham are expecting a baby so we suggested creating the new ensuite first, rather than renovate the family bathroom. the plan was to create a doorway from the master bedroom into a small ensuite using a part of the second living area. Theres no before photo as its just a room so heres a few from during and at completion. The clients opted for a fully customised frameless screen which makes the small ensuite seamless. Bathroom windows have to be safety glass so the suggestion was made to re-glaze and then tint so that the tree and sky is still visible. Acoustic insulation in the walls helps to keep the noise within the new ensuite too.

01.01.2022 Jo’s makeovers operates in the bayside suburbs and in the south east. We keep our area limited so as to ensure daily on site supervision and close proximity for our team of tradespeople.

01.01.2022 We were very fortunate to be engaged to complete a renovation in a vacant property in South Yarra where there was a significant water leak from the bathroom that affected the bedroom. We also added in a basin to the separate toilet to create a powder room. Here are a few before and after photos to check out.
