24.01.2022 I like this one from @movingdietitian I have started following you now. And thanks to the @dietitianconnection for sharing! At this time of year when everyone is eating out a lot we need to all be careful how much extra total energy we are consuming in particular saturated fats, sugar and alcohol. And once air quality improves we hopefully can also increase our activity levels and dont forget to increase your water intake to avoid dehydration! Having a healthy social life does not have to come at a nutritional health sacrifice. Remember to stop when you are full, avoid over ordering and make other meals in the day super healthy! Its all about a healthy balancing act. :) #joturnerhealth #eatingout #healthyeating #christmaseating #dietitian #healthydiet #moderation
24.01.2022 This is the way to have breakfast! #hawaii 1 egg omelette with spinach, tomato, mushroom & feta served with a slice of avo toast. Washed down with a coffee and a spectacular view from my balcony! Then off to swim with sea turtles! Im going to miss this place!
24.01.2022 So much yummy fruit out in summer!! Yet still many people dont eat enough of it! Do you get your 2-4 serves of fruit per day? Eating too little and too much can lead to health concerns. Like everything else in life its all about balance! Did you know there is increasing evidence that whole foods such as fruit are more effective in reducing the risk of cancer than specific vitamin and mineral supplements. There is also building evidence that some risk factors for cancer ca...n be avoided by eating fruit (and vegetables and legumes) during childhood and early adult life. Fruit is abundant in vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. Vitamins such as vitamin C and E and different phytochemicals may reduce the risk of cardiovascular conditions. Potassium and magnesium found in fruit have also been linked to lower blood pressure Yes for people with diabetes and those needing to lose weight its important to monitor your natural and added sugar levels but with a dietitian you can develop a meal plan that balances your nutritional needs with your weight loss and health conditions. Do you know what your individual needs are? #joturnerhealth . . . . . . #dietitian #fruit #healthinfo #preventcancer #diabetesdiet #benefitsofhealthyeating #nutrition #nutritiontips #weightloss #weightlossmotivation #eathealthy #healthyfood
24.01.2022 Goofing around at work with some of the team in the NuActive Heath kitchen at lunch time. Its so great when you get to work with friends.
24.01.2022 I love making ice blocks! And I love the inspo I just got looking through @hfgaustralia feed with this image. They have a great recipe database on their website for less than a cup of coffee per month. I used to write recipes for them - until I started writing recipes for my own cooking school and recipe books. Yet I still refer a lot of clients to them as I know their recipes have all been reviewed or written by a dietitian. They provide nutrition info on all recipes and a...re simple everyday recipes! I haven’t looked at their recipe for this image but my recipe for a chai style iceblock would be this (I will test it this weekend) Make 6 1 cup of light milk heated with a chai tea bag, cool in fridge 3/4 cup (170g) vanilla yoghurt (this is approx 1 individual tub) 1 tablespoon maple syrup 3 large bananas. Place in a blender and purée all ingredients smooth. Place in 6 iceblock moulds and freeze. When you take them out dip in vanilla yoghurt and sprinkle with nuts before the additional yoghurt freezes. This is a #lowfodmaprecipe if you use lactose free milk and yogurt and your bananas are not too ripe. Low FODMAP diet process is a very successful way of treating irritable bowel syndrome. #joturnerhealth Ohh I just thought of another two recipe ideas overnight chai oats and a chai smoothie.

22.01.2022 Great little exercise ideas by the heart foundation!
22.01.2022 We all need to sleep, we all need food, we all need to exercise, it’s a fundamental, our body doesn’t work properly without it. Choose an exercise you will enjoy and choose to do it regularly because you respect your body and it’s needs. Exercise is not a punishment! It helps every organ in your body particularly your mind #selflove #healthymindset #joturnerhealth
22.01.2022 Respect your body enough to give it good quality food. Actually a lot of my clients feel like they are eating more than they used to, another way of seeing it is making it a smarter eating plan not a harder eating plan! #eatallfoodgroups #balancedeating #addmorevegetables #joturnerhealth #healthyeating #macrosandmicros
21.01.2022 This works both ways! There are lots of highly nutritious foods that are packed full of vitamins and fibre but some have a very different energy and macro nutrient profile than the other. Take strawberries vs nuts. Its important to choose nutritious foods but its also important to meet and not exceed your energy requirements. Just because a food is healthy doesnt mean its healthy for every one in every portion size. But before you change your eating habits, see a dietitian to learn whats right for you! #joturnerhealth #calories #energyrequirements #fibre #vitamins #healthyeating #diet #food #dietitian #nutritionfacts
21.01.2022 Do you get enough veggies? Why do we need them? Warning #hashtagcrazy They are full of..... #fibre #vitamin and mineral intake... #prebiotics for good #microbiota in your digestive system #fillingfood Adds number of #chews #slowsdigestion making your carbohydrate intake have a lower #glycemicindex Linked to lowered risk of #diabetes #heartdisease and #cancer Adds #texture #flavour #colour #interest #crunch just to name a few! There are so many reasons to have 5 serves of vegetables per day!!#joturnerhealth @nuactive_health See more
21.01.2022 Try to speak positive and encouraging words to yourself. Believe in your ability to succeed! Doubting yourself holds you back from even trying. Talk to yourself the way you think a child you love should be spoken to. With love , kindness and compassion, with understanding that they are not meant to be perfect but willing to learn from mistakes, take in new knowledge, learn new skills, and keep making and working towards their goals in life! I find when my clients adopt more p...ositive self talk it helps then make healthier changes to their eating and exercise habits. #joturnerhealth . . . . #selftalk #postivetalk #healthythoughts #postivequotes #respect #kindness #postive #love #compassion #healthylifestyle
21.01.2022 Roast for dinner? Roast chicken is my favourite! A healthy plate would have lean chicken breast in the right portion for your body size (for adults thats around 2 x your weight in grams eg 60kg needs around 120g). Then fill one quarter to one third of your plate with starchy veg depending on your physical and mental energy needs (more for athletes and higher energy demands). And then fill the rest with non starchy veggies- as much as you like. A drizzle of gravy (ideally no...t made from the meat fats if your cholesterol is high). My baked veggies are baked separate to the meat in just a little olive oil and the others steamed. See a dietitian to learn what your individual portion requirements are. It can vary a lot! And too little is even worse than too much! #joturnerhealth #healthyplate #roastdinner #portionsize

20.01.2022 I love a good breakfast! This is so quick and easy! Respect your body and give it good food! 1 large slice of bread of your choice I like it grainy. 1/4 avocado, sliced 1/2 tomato sliced A large handful of rocket... 1 poached egg Topped with Pepper A sprinkle of sunflower seeds and a lemon and oil emulsion! #healthybalance #healthybreakfastideas #enjoyyourfood #foodforthesoul #eatinginthesun #joturnerhealth
20.01.2022 This makes me think of a certain client that makes me laugh every time he comes in. He likes to wear shirts to my healthy cooking classes that say something like .......exercise? I thought you said extra fries. Awesome bloke, lost lots of weight but hasnt lost his sense of humour! This is something he would come in and show me. Made me smile.
19.01.2022 This gorgeous girl will be ours in 3 weeks. We need to think of names. Any ideas? She is a medium labradoodle. The picture makes her look black but she is dark brown with beautiful blue eyes! Already fallen in love!! Our human daughter Isabella will finally get a fur sister so no Bella suggestions for names.
19.01.2022 Cooking class this Sat! My cooking classes teach you how to do just that. 2 spots have just opened up for the class this Saturday the 9th of November and Id love for you to join me! 19.01.2022 When you want a lasting result in health improvement and weight loss you need a plan you can be consistent with. A plan that is achievable and right for you! Have the plan designed just for you by an accredited dietitian and exercise physiologist who can help coach you through and adapt it when you need. You only get one body dont gamble with the next quick fix and end up with injuries or illnesses. Fad restrictive diets and cookie cutter exercise routines can cause more harm than most people think! Dont gamble when it comes to your health and wellness! #joturnerhealth
17.01.2022 Bite size citrus cheesecake made in less than 5 minutes with less than 5 ingredients and approx 150calories. #lowfodmap #glutenfree Healthy eating is about having a healthy relationship with food and your body. Enjoying food is part of that healthy relationship. Your body shouldnt need large copious amount of sweet foods, nor should it have to be deprived of them entirely! Rather a little when the occasion calls for it can be a lovely little addition. This mini cheesecake i...s simply made with mixing 1 1/2 tablespoons of lactose free or light spreadable cream cheese, 1tsp store bought lemon curd (I like Barkers brand) and 1 tablespoon of fat free plain yoghurt all mixed together. Spoon mixture onto an Anzac biscuit (I chose a gluten free variety not because its healthier but because I need gluten free as Im coeliac) . I then garnished it with lime zest and frozen raspberries. Enjoy!! 15.01.2022 There is no such thing as a perfect diet! And 2 cookies can be part of a healthy lifestyle. There are many levels of being healthy, socially healthy, physically, nutritionally, mentally, financially and spiritually healthy. It’s impossible to be completely healthy in all of these at the same time and some require sacrificing the other at times. The key is to find a healthy work, life, health, balance of these for you at your current stage of life. Please be kind to yourself and set realistic health goals. #joturnerhealth

14.01.2022 Who said you cant eat healthy in America! Poke bowls are popular in Hawaii! And super delicious! Eating gluten free has been a little tricky in America, I choose to stay in apartments and do my own cooking, that makes it a whole lot easier, but you then need to schedule time and the cost of ubers to get you to and from the store. Shopping at 11pm some nights has not been fun after 25 thousand steps in Disneyland. The few times Ive eaten out the options are very limited or th...e waiter has no idea what gluten free means!Navigating around the supermarkets is a challenge. It seems that only select supermarkets stock gluten free bread. I havent found any gluten free wraps. But if you do get to a wholefoods supermarket store although its expensive there is a huge selection (15 different gluten free breads and bagels) all sold in the freezer which is a clever idea! Tastes so much fresher! Im going to contact Coles and Woolworths with this idea when I get back and a few other ideas for them. Sorry for the lack of posting! Off to a morning yoga class now then a snorkel! :) See more
14.01.2022 I love a good iced coffee! In this case decaf as I don’t like consuming caffeine later in the day. It’s my favourite way to get one of three recommended serves of daily dairy. Mine is made with a decaf coffee shot, skim milk, ice and a scoop of light icecream sometimes topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Although it would have been more enjoyable if it was warmer in Sydney at the moment. I find too many people are cutting out dairy at the moment with misled information and tr...ends of switching to vegan alternatives. Unless there is a dairy allergy present I think the research is very strong towards the health benefits of keeping cows milk in your diet. If you are lactose intolerant I would still suggest a lactose free variety cows milk or taking lactose enzymes. Before ever taking dairy out of your diet please consult a professional dietitian and if you do remove dairy milk, please find an alternative intake of essential amino acids, vitamin b12, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and zinc. Most non dairy alternative milks are fortified with calcium but not all the other essential nutrients our body needs. 9 out of 10 Aussies do not consume enough dairy and half of Australians do not consume enough calcium -essential for health bones and muscles. Getting the right amount and balance of the right Macro and micro nutrients is the key to good health!! I personally consume 3-5 serves of dairy a day. Please note this post has in no way been endorsed by the dairy industry. #getyourfactsfromadietitian#joturnerhealth @australiandairy @dairyfarmersau @gippslandjersey @aussie_dairy_farmers See more
13.01.2022 Health is actually not really depicted by the number on the scale. Health is about balance. A balance of nutritional health, mental health, physical health, social health, financial health, spiritual health. Within physical health, it’s a balance between sleep and exercise, even getting enough sunlight. Within exercise it’s a balance between cardio, resistance, flexibility and stability. Health is about looking after all organs- liver health, intestinal health, metabolic and... hormonal health, cardio and respiratory health. Often when people follow fad restricted diets they may lose weight but they may also cause poor health from a diet that lacks nutrients and puts huge strain in organs and lose muscle. A professional weight loss program by a dietitian and exercise physiologist works on preserving lean muscle and improving all organ health at the same time of being energy deficit in a safe and clinically relevant way for the individual. Within nutritional health it’s important to get a balance between the macros- fats, protein and carbs, and the looking at the quality not just quantity of those. You also need a balance of micronutrients- getting enough iron, zinc, magnesium, calcium and all the other vitamins and minerals and let’s not forget electrolyte balance as well as hydration. So please don’t just look at the scales and think that’s a measure of health. Have you even had your healthy weight range professionally assessed based on your muscle mass and bone structure, not your height such as BMI? As you can see being a health professional isn’t a straight forward assessment and there is a lot that goes into our plans but I love helping people be healthy in as many ways as possible. #behealthy #healthylifestyle #dietitian #exercisephysiologist #joturnerhealth See more

12.01.2022 Salad does not have to be the same every day! My favourite is an Asian salad with a yummy dressing like this pad Thai inspired salad. Sorry for the messy picture but we ran a little behind time in the last cooking class so not as much care was taken in the food styling as normal. Pile your plate as high as you like in salad vegetables such as sliced bok choy, capsicum, snow peas, bean sprouts, carrot, green shallots, Thai basil leaves, then add a serve of cooked and cooled ...rice noodles (around 1/2 or 1 cup for a weight loss portion) then add the portion of protein you need around 60-100g for a lunch portion or 100-160g for a dinner portion depending on how much muscle you have and if you are trying to maintain or gain muscle. Then for the fun part the dressing (enough for 2 serves) 2 tablespoons light peanut butter 1/2 cup water 1 tablespoons gluten-free soy sauce 1 tsp fresh grated ginger 1 tablespoon lime juice 2 tablespoons tamarind paste Drizzle of the top and also serve with fresh lime pieces for an extra squeeze #joturnerhealth #springrecipes #saladrecipe #healthyrecipes #nutrition #dietitian #padthai #chicken
11.01.2022 Well the world is changing daily however it is important that everyone continues to maintain optimal health. And therefore here at NuActive Health we are not only considered an essential service we have been considered a vital service and have been encouraged by the government to stay open. So we encourage you to keep your scheduled appointments. It is a time to make our health and safety our number 1 priority! All our practitioners- dietitians, exercise physiologists, psych...ologists, diabetes educator and gastroenterologist are still open for normal consults but now also offering Telehealth consults if you prefer or we think it is better for your safety. (Telehealth is a video based or telephone consultation). Please call to discuss this option. If you are still coming to a face to face consult you will notice some differences. -our reception staff are now working remotely in one of the offices and not sitting at the front desk. You will speak to them via an iPad and they can still answer questions, book appointments and take payments just the same as they normally do via some fancy IT setups. -All surfaces are wiped down between clients -All clients are screened for risk and changed to Telehealth if deemed a higher risk. So we minimize the chances of anyone contagious coming into the rooms or anyone who is more vulnerable attending face to face consults. -Only 3 people are allowed in the waiting room at a time and preferred if everyone waits in their car or at least outside on the pavement. The good thing is there are a lot more free car parks now. -Only 1 patient allowed in the consultation with the practitioner ( no support people except for one of our larger offices are allowed a maximum of two). If you need a support person or parent or child in the consultation please let our reception staff know at the time of booking the appointment so we can organise the larger office for your consult or transfer you to a Telehealth consult. -Patients will sit more than 1.5m away from practitioners and more than 1.5m away from each other in the waiting room. -we prefer you not to use our restroom as we have to clean the bathroom after every use and that puts my staff at risk. Remember to stay calm, stay safe and stay well. We are here for you and we will get through this together. If you have lost your job and suffering financial difficulty please call us and we will discuss financial options for our services as we would like to find a way to support you and continue your care through this difficult time. Stay healthy and stay safe! Sending love and prayers to everyone! Jo Turner - Director of NuActive Health
10.01.2022 Are you sick of the diet bs in the world these days? Confused on what is the right things to eat?? I’m not surprised as everyday new clients come in genuinely confused and shocked that losing weight or managing their diabetes /health condition does NOT include........... skipping meals, fasting, juice cleanses, loading up on protein, cutting carbs out even at night! And think I must be magic when they watch the kilos drop off them with a healthy balanced diet that doesn’t include loads of meal prep or never eating the foods you love! They should change our job title as a dietitian actually rarely puts you in a diet we teach you how all humans should eat, improve your relationship with food and your body! We can teach you how to lose weight and keep it off or teach you just how to be healthier and not focus on weight so much. We are food and body experts. Make sure the person you are getting nutrition advice from * has a university degree in actual nutrition - not a degree in anything it’s amazing how many other even health professionals want to give out nutrition advice when they have no qualifications in the area. Although many health professionals and even personal trainers are very knowledgeable and give out great advice I hear too many horror stories too so best to have it double checked by an expert too, especially if the advice sounds extreme. -make sure they have experience in the area of nutrition you need. Are you sick of the diet bs? Because I certainly am and I devote my career to helping people hear the truths!! #joturnerhealth
10.01.2022 Eating 2 serves of fruit and at least 5 serves of vegies each day is the single most important dietary change we can make to be healthier! When we live in Australia with such good produce I still get shocked at the statistics that only half of adults and 3 out of 4 children eat enough fruit, it’s even worse for vegetables only 7% of adults and 5% of children eat sufficient vegetables!! 08.01.2022 The type, quantity and frequency of exercise is so important to get right! I have a lot of female clients that I tell them they are doing too much resistance and HIT for the body type they are aiming for and other females and many males doing not enough for the body shape they are wanting. Exercise is like architecture for your muscles, brain, bones and hormones, you need to make sure you have a qualified body architect (a qualified exercise physiologist) designing your program otherwise you may be putting effort into to something that could even cause harm. Exercising is something everyone should do, but it also needs to be the right type and quantity and frequency. @essansw #exerciseright #exercisephysiology #exercisearchitect
08.01.2022 Happy #dietitiansday2019 I love this post from @compeat_nutrition -great work!! I love supporting and promoting other passionate accredited practicing dietitians and fellow advanced sports dietitian!! So it happens to be Dietitians Day in Aus today. But in a world where everyone with an opinion and an iPhone can tout nutrition advice, what does this title actually mean!? .... There are so many nutrition courses available now, all varying prices, lengths, study requirements and quality. The scary thing is, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist (or health coach) or Dietitian - those terms arent protected by law (dont even get me started on this ). . Like all professions, there are some amazing Dietitians and some stories from others that have made us cringe. . The risk with the influx of courses and influencers is that it is tough to sift through those that are legit. Be cautious of any that use the word specialise in a health condition - as this should be left to a Dietitian. . The short, fast-tracked courses also bring the risk of the Dunning-Kluger effect: when a person learns a small amount about a topic and then develops a bias toward that knowledge being greater than it is. . The truth is, the more you know, the more you realise you dont know! . Not everyone can call themselves an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) though. This one requires a whole lot of study through a Bachelor or Masters - and then continuing professional development through a National organisation to hold the title. . For any specialist areas or health conditions, definitely aim to find an APD (or an Accredited Sports Dietitian if it is Sports/Performance related). . #dietitian #accrediteddietitian #apd #accreditedpractisingdietitian #accreditedsportsdietitian #sportsdietitian #nutritionist #nutrition #food #accredited #nutritionadvice #healthcoach #foodcoach See more
07.01.2022 So simple! #christmasrecipes Cheese ball Christmas Tree Mix 125g light cream cheese with 60g low fat ricotta and 30g low fat feta until smooth. Spoon onto the middle of a plate and shape like a tree shaped cone. Dry fresh sage leaves in the oven along with slightly roasting flakes almonds. And then crush the sage leaves removing the stalks. You will need at least 1/2 cup of fresh leaves. Sprinkle the cheese with sage, place almonds in the side to help it look like a Christmas tree and then place pomegranate seeds on the side as decoration. The star was made using a very small cookie cutter and the pomegranate skin on a toothpick. Serve with polish brown rice crackers and cucumber rounds. This lovely tree was decorated and styled by one of my talented students in the 2019 Christmas special cooking class at @nuactive_health
07.01.2022 My new favourite saying! Klia i ka nuu is the value of accomplishment and achievement. The literal translation for Klia i ka nuu is strive to reach the summit. Those who have this value continually pursue improvement and personal excellence. For them, the most satisfying competition is with their previous selves: They consider their life and everything within it to be a work in progress, and they enjoy the effort. Hard work is good work when it employs the energies of striving and reaching higher. #joturnerhealth #aloha
07.01.2022 #mumofthree #stilltraining #taekwondofamily My boys would never kick their mum for real! I love the respect in martial arts! ... This year I will hopefully achieve my 3rd Dan black belt, my eldest son will attempt his 1st Dan black belt grading and my youngest will climb his coloured belt ladder to blue belt by the end of the year. Martial arts is a journey just like life. You start out knowing very little with little skills, your senior belts and masters offer you teachings and guidance and unlike life the junior belts will always show respect to their senior belts. If you want your children to show respect for elders, respect for others and sometimes even more importantly respect for themselves- get them into martial arts! It’s fun, it’s not as hard as you may think, it’s a skill and discipline anyone can learn, it’s great for your body and even better for your mind! I started at 36 years of age after 3 kids! And i would recommend it to everyone! #joturnerhealth

07.01.2022 Clients often call me the boss. Why? Well my followers can tell me if they want? Feel free to comment below. I think it’s because I’m not afraid to take charge, say what needs to be said to get the job they hire me to do for them. To guide them, teach them, coach them, encourage them, inspire and support them, help them up when they fall down, walk the walk with them and know I have their back. They trust me and know I have the qualifications and experience to help them. I don’t just want to tell them but show them and actually CARE about their results. So I’m proud and honoured to be your boss! This photo is taken with a good friend of mine @theamandarose who I’ve known for 17 years as boss ladies like to hang out together. She bought me this hat for my last birthday! Love it!! :)
06.01.2022 What a great way to get 2 1/2 serves out of the daily recommended 5! Love this recipe from @hfgaustralia I would eat this as an afternoon tea snack or as a side at dinner with my steak, chicken or fish! It’s gluten free if you use gluten free mayonnaise and I’m personally allergic to chilli so I would swap the chilli paste with a little wasabi instead. I think this would go so well with a chargrilled piece of salmon!! What do you think?? The recipe is in @hfgaustralia bio li...nk. If you need a #lowfodmap variation simply cut the avocado down to 1/8 avocado per serve, reduce the zucchini to 1/3 cup per serve, add cucumber instead and replace the shallot with chives. #joturnerhealth
06.01.2022 Its soup weather! I can eat salad all year round but some of my clients say they cant so I suggest soup! I love soup!!! I think a plain vegetable soup is a great way to start a meal and snack between meals if you feel you eat more in winter then eat more vegetables! If you are having soup as a meal make sure its 1/4 protein, 1/4 carb or serve it with bread on the side, and 1/2 vegetables (ideally lots of non starchy veggies if you need to bring your weight down. 05.01.2022 A common problem that I see, is when people eat something they think is not healthy even if it was for the right reasons they think they have stuffed it all up so they then continue to eat poor choices now for all for the wrong reasons. Don’t feel guilty! This happens to a lot of people but it’s something you need to learn how to stop if you want not only reach a healthy weight but also maintain a healthy mindset and lifestyle. You don’t Need to learn to stop the initial item... , that needs to stay when it’s for the right reasons. Cake on a birthday is normal and healthy behaviour. Cake at 3 am because you feel guilty about the first slice of cake is not! I use this tire analogy a lot! Or if you take a wrong turn, or detoured off the road, don’t keep going in the wrong direction, turn around. No one drives perfectly and no one should even aim to eat perfectly. We are human! A healthy lifestyle has bumps and turns and flat Tires. Learn to change the tire, turn the wheel, manage the bumps. Life is not a straight road. And dieting mentality that you need to stay on a strict straight track is not helpful, there is no track to fall on and off, it’s a bendy wide road and it’s your mindset that needs to learn to be malleable. To stay positive, optimistic and believe that with lessons, you can become a better driver manager of your lifestyle/ body. You only get one body, if you want it to look and feel and work well then it’s worth learning how to look after it better. 05.01.2022 #breakfast quick, balanced way to start the day. 2tb muesli 1/4 cup of berries 1/4 cup of yoghurt in a glass, repeat for another layer, top with more berries and a drizzle of honey if desired. I actually like thinning marmalade with hot water and drizzling a little of that over the top. Enjoy!! #joturnerhealth
04.01.2022 Happy 2020! Its great to set goals as long as they are realistic and sustainable. My health goals for this 2020 are: *getting ready for 2 weeks of training in Korea in April and 2 maybe 3 black belt gratings this year. *more stretching to improve flexibility and reduce injuries * earlier to bed (sleep is so vital) * better hydration- talking all day requires a lot of water! ... What are your goals, please share to inspire others. . . . . #joturnerhealth #healthgoals

03.01.2022 I am craving the sun! The outdoors! Family picnics, bush walks, the beach! Spring can not arrive soon enough! A recent family trip to Berrima was lovely.... cold but it was nice to be outside, I certainly have not got enough vitamin D this year! The bushfire smoke kept me in doors, then Covid has stopped a lot of activities. But the next 6 months I hope will be brighter for lots of reasons!! These cold rainy days will be over soon! Hang in there! Spring is just around the corner! #joturnerhealth
02.01.2022 #becauseyoucan #healthyshouldbesimple Make time to learn from a professional how to make healthy enjoyable and most importantly DOABLE. Stop following fad diets, or people who don’t have a university qualification in nutrition or exercise. It’s not a diet when you are simply learning how to eat properly. And yes you will lose weight doing it if you need to as your body will go to where it is naturally supposed to be when you learn to look after yourself. Yes dietitians do sometimes have to prescribe certain diets when there is a medical condition involved but otherwise I teach how to have a good relationship with yourself, food and the health of your mind and body. I can’t wait to show you through my new cookbooks. #joturnerhealth #maketimeforhealth #healthylifestyle
