24.01.2022 Each day we find new ways to continue to inspire a love for literacy! Our nursery children have been turning their story times into so much fun that they can’t wait to grab a book and explore sounds, images and song throughout their day!

24.01.2022 It's Book Week and the children have been using their imagination to create their own characters with their own stories! Formulating the characters in their mind, and then creating them physically, was a really inspiring activity. The education team are so proud of what they have delivered, and the children are loving their creations!

We also got crafty with different art experiences that let us imagine what space looks like and we recorded our thoughts and findings daily! Just wait until you see the classroom book we created!

We held an emotional and well deserved Educators day yesterday, where the appreciation was really felt from all! Every kind word and gesture was seen and brought many of us to tears!... 09.01.2022 International friendship day could not come at a better time right now! Across all age groups we celebrated how we bridge the gaps between race, colour, religion and other factors which keep humans from fostering friendships with one another. We all read the beautiful story of the rainbow fish and shared our love for one another through fun activities! Our nursery groups created murals together and our kindergarten children created friendship bracelets for one another!... We truly are a family at Journey Burwood and our diversity is what makes us so special!

09.01.2022 Our Mini Beast project continued.... Our Kindergarten children were so curious to learn more, we watched documentaries on creepy crawlies and became more observant of our environment. The children then began to document and map out their discoveries and findings.

08.01.2022 Combining our language and cooking programs in toddlers today, we made dumplings. They were absolutely delicious and of course so much fun! Thank you Miss Sophie!

08.01.2022 This week we have really put an emphasis on NAIDOC week throughout every classroom. Our kindergarten children created their own clay sculptures and were encouraged to let their sculptures tell a story. We have been practicing our acknowledgment of country each day, telling Dreamtime stories and talking with the children about the history of our Aboriginal ancestors.... 03.01.2022 As part of our minibeast project our children made their own bug hats, put on PJs, watched A bugs life movie and made their own popcorn Going to the cinemas is one of the things our children have missed this year so we brought the cinema to them!
