22.01.2022 This is something I’ve struggled with for the last couple of months and have only shared with a handful of people because I’ve felt like I’ve been going backwards, not forwards. But today I spoke with a beautiful lady who helped me look at it from a different perspective and she shared a similar story about a friend of hers. . Two months ago I started a part time job 2-3 days a week to help cover my expenses. Between living expenses increasing and January being a quite mon...th for me, I needed some consistent income. I didn’t want my small business to wear the burden of paying the bills when there was no consistency yet. . I was in two minds about sharing this. Mostly because I’m hard on myself and tell myself I should have everything figured out and be an over night success. Right?! But I also felt like I needed to be transparent and open about this as it effects my availability for consultations and completing jewellery pieces. . I guess what I’m saying is, this isn’t exactly something that I wanted to do. It wasn’t in the plan. And although I absolutely love the girls I work with (honestly couldn’t ask for a better team) it’s been a challenge juggling working part time, running my small business and squeezing in three events in two months. I’ve basically had one day off a week each week since I started. . But I’m still here; email, phone, text, social media. You can still ask me anything anytime, and I’ll always reply within 24 hours. I’m still making. I’m still designing. And I still have LOTS of exciting things happening behind the scenes. . I guess it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. And you’re definitely going to get those epic storms from time to time so you might as well enjoy them while they last. . Building your dream takes time. And effort. Two steps forward, one step back. Or maybe it’s just one step to the side while you’re still trying to find your balance . . . Hope this can be a little reminder that like everyone, you’re doing the best you can. 13.01.2022 So so in love with this colour! Most of you have watched the journey of this gorgeous emerald from its rough form, to being cut into an oval shape, to being set into one of my Atma ring designs. . Like all new designs, this ring was definitely a challenge but I am honestly so proud of the end result. And I am so happy that my beautiful friend absolutely loves her new ring. .... Sarah found this stunning blue-green emerald in the Torrington mines in Queensland. I feel so honoured to have had the opportunity to help transform this rough gemstone into something so special. Thank you Sarah for choosing my design for something so sentimental and thank you for supporting my small business! . . . 12.01.2022 Have you ever had one of those moments where you were like ‘oh my gosh, I’m doing exactly what I’ve always wanted to be doing’ and then just started grinning to yourself? Well today was one of those days. And it’s only possible because of the beautiful clients I have. Without you, my small business wouldn’t exist and I wouldn’t be creating special jewellery pieces. . My favourite part is handing over the newly created jewellery and watching my clients face light up with jo...y and hearing the excitement in their voice. Nothing can beat that. . When I was younger, I knew I wanted to have my own business in the creative industry. But at the time I didn’t know what that would be. . And now that I’m designing and creating jewellery, my heart is full. . I have a huge vision for my jewellery business and I am so grateful that you are on this journey with me. Thank you! . . . 10.01.2022 Flash back to when my hair was short and I exhibited my work with ‘RAWards’ Melbourne, in May 2014. This was one of my first exhibitions soon after graduating in 2013, showcasing my Bottle Brush Collection. . The Bottle Brush Collection has been stocked in @arborbrunswick since 2015. I developed this collection using the Lost Wax Casting process and symbolise the vibrant red of the bottle brush by using red Almandine Garnet.
