25.01.2022 What does it feel like to you being in a state of unease ? Never feeling safe in yourself or your environment? Now obviously we all have different circumstances that put us in this state, some more extreme than others. Have you ever felt the difference between not feeling safe and complete relaxation?... Is it your own beliefs that create the unease or is it your environment or both ? Could the symptoms of fatigue, digestive disorders, skin issues, musculoskeletal inflammation, weight gain and more ALL be symptoms of being in a state of not feeling safe ? In my opinion a common cause of not feeling safe is Financial Stress. Not feeling like you are able to keep up with all the demands of life. Another common cause is not feeling like you belong anywhere. Never feeling accepted. Another is not feeling like you have any purpose. Never satisfied with being who you are and always needing to be something else (guilty ) What ever your cause it’s a beautiful gift to be acknowledged, accepted and embraced, so that what ever change is needed it can be done from LOVE and not FEAR. 23.01.2022 We are all living together on this earth governed by cycles of nature, both internally and externally. Without quality sleep and restoration we are in in constant deficit. Sleep is where we heal. Where we dream. Where we allow our personal identities to relax. ... In my opinion the most common causes of poor sleep rhythms: * over working * poor self management * blood sugar imbalances * over eating * over training * constant EMR exposure * stimulant drinks * busy mind Obviously everyone is different. We all have a choice to create the best rhythms that suit us. We all have 24 hrs. Look at your current weekly rhythm of activities. Map all that you do out and see how much energy is going in to your life and compare that to how much time you spend recovering? 21.01.2022 Why could this be important to your wellbeing and your pain ? Well according to an article in the LA Times the average household owns over 300,000 items This means that each item takes energy to take responsibility for. That means to take care of that item it requires energy to make, consume and use. Now times that by x300,000. Do you think this could cause some stress ? ... When considering to buy ANYTHING, question how was this item made ? How am I going to use it ? What’s going to happen to it once I am finished with it ? Can it decompose ? Who would benefit from it more than me ? All of the questions are important to understand so that we can better take responsibility for ourselves and the earth. I am and still are guilty of buying items that contain plastic / electronics / use fossil fuels etc (including this phone I am typing on now) Unfortunately we are at the point where our consumption is causing everyone pain BUT we can reduce this pain by becoming AWARE! A great question to ask: What consequences are my great grandchildren going to have to face because of my choices NOW ? 21.01.2022 By no means is this definition the ONLY definition or the whole story of what chronic pain is, I am paraphrasing to highlight some key point around this complex topic The lessons my more complex clients have taught me over the years is that each of us experiences pain differently and as such our choices we make around our pain are different too. What I am really fascinated by is the willingness or lack of willingness to heal. It’s an interesting place BUT it is often where ...the healing begins - Am I committed to healing ? - Why am I committed ? - Why am I not ? - Do I really want to change ? - Do I expect to be fixed quickly ? - What support do I really need ? - Can I stay focussed ? These types of questions can go on and on. My point being is that if you are struggling with A LOT of different symptoms use them as a GIFT into what change is wanting to emerge and just BEGIN ! Acknowledge your pain and discomfort and committ to yourself. 14.01.2022 Can pressure be good and bad ? I feel yes. Pressure either way it is teaching us about something. ... I’ll offer only two perspectives: Either we are doing something we don’t want to be doing or it’s forcing us to step into something you want to be doing From my own lessons this pressure causes a lot of internal and eventually external pain. Now where to go from here, well there can be many paths to take pending on your level of consciousness and circumstance BUT if I was to really offer one path : ACCEPTANCE Acceptance of where ever your pressure is coming from, that you honour ALL of it. Be careful though, the fear in you will be trying to influence your acceptance by saying: but, what if, I should be, I have to etc Take the pressure off by accepting how you feel and acknowledge it whole heartedly. There can be multiple objectives for this movement pattern hence the effectiveness of it (always try to maximise your objective with movement patterns so you can maximise your output) Here I am aiming at connecting my legs through a lunge pattern and integrating it with my upper body in a twist pattern. ... This will allow multiple twisting forces to go through multiple joints at once forcing my body to figure out how to stay up right. A great exercise for multi plane activities like surfing Your aiming is to develop integration usually in a endurance zone so perform alternating lunge for up 100-180 sec in total. 03.01.2022 Pain in head, neck, jaw, shoulder s and lower back come from an infinite amount of reasons, all of which are unique to an individual. Is postural alignment the answer ? For me I think it helps BUT what causes posture to deviate from its centre ? Is it as easy as saying stand up straight ? ABSOLUTELY NOT... Our posture is a deep look into all that we are and have experienced. For the upper quarter for example: - blocked nasal canal - crowded teeth - jaw occlusion - tongue misalignment - allergy’s & intolerances - emotional pressure - poor ergonomics This list could keep going on and on. Point being is that we as humans experience the world through a unique lens and our posture reflects this. Pain and health issues are so unique its amazing and complicated at the same time. Hence we each have a Journey of Wellness to explore in ourselves.
