22.01.2022 For some business owners and entrepreneurs, it doesn't come easy at first to put themselves out there and be the face of their business. Even though they know it makes great marketing sense to show up and be visible, some initially find it uncomfortable sharing photos of themselves. (Hands up if this is you! It was me a few years back.) However, when they do share themselves with their audience magic happens!... And this is exactly what Naomi experienced this week. She stepped out of her comfort zone and shared her first brand photo with incredibly positive results!!! Not only did she get gorgeous compliments, but more importantly she received inquiries!!! And that's exactly why we brand ourselves - to connect, build connections and grow our business. Well done, Naomi!!! 22.01.2022 Tears are flowing in the studio today! Creating the funeral slideshow tribute for my father-in-law who passed away on the 28th of February. 'Hallelujah' and 'What a wonderful world' playing and lots of beautiful photo memories - OMG, he was loved!... Taking the rest of the week off - then back on board Monday. 16.01.2022 Do your clients know you're open for business? Just last week Sally Carson was asked if she was open. And it threw her because she had never stopped. Then it got her thinking - how many other potential clients are thinking the same thing? ... And how many sales have been lost because people have booked with another business that they knew were open? Scary thought - losing paid jobs because your audience isn't sure of something as simple as you being open or not. We can't assume just because we're posting that our ideal clients get we're open. We have to tell them! And that's just was Sally did. She posted on her social media platforms that she was indeed open. Straight and to the point. We also love she shared one of her recent brand photos (showing her working away in her studio) to help get her message across. 10.01.2022 Buying decisions are made a whole lot easier when your target market knows you. So how can we get our ideal clients to know us without them ever meeting us in person? Easy! Show your audience what it's like when they are working with you. Have photos showing you actively doing your work. ... Sounds simple, right? It is, but many business owners aren't putting themselves out there and they're missing out on building that connection simply because they don't have an Instagram worthy working space. But don't let that stop you! If your office isn't up to it, doesn't show you in your best light or adds nothing to your story - we've got you covered. We can create an office in the studio for you - branding colours and all. Here, we supplied the whiteboard, desk, plant, pens, pen holder, notebooks, wireframe and Vanessa supplied the post-it-notes, handwriting, pot (for the plant), books, magazines and branded laptop. We also did a scene with Vanessa sitting on a couch, amongst orange and white cushions - bringing in her brand colours again. 10.01.2022 Feeling a new lease on life today after an emotional time recently!!! Not even this virus is going to stop me. Well, not today anyway! But where to from here with regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19)!... Great news! We're open for business and will continue to help our clients confidently take ownership of their brand and attract higher-quality clients and opportunities by creating stunning brand portraits and content photos for them. Though for everyone's safety, we're making a few changes: 1) Planning sessions will be via Zoom instead of in person. 2) Studio photo sessions are still happening - all surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned before and after your session. 3) Location sessions at your home or office are happening. However, no sessions will be in public places eg coffee shops or shopping centers. So what happens if you have a session booked and you, the hair & makeup artist or myself become sick or we need to self-quarantine (or required to by government)? No pressure, we'll postpone your session to when we're all ok. If you were thinking about getting new photos before everything became so serious and thought you'd missed out being visible at this time when your ideal clients will be spending more time surfing the net and on social media - great news, we have a few spots left in March and April. 08.01.2022 So this happened!!! A courier, a gorgeous box of cupcakes, a stunning bunch of flowers, and an amazing bottle of champagne arrived at my door. 08.01.2022 I made my client cry! Imagine starting a business from scratch and growing it in two years to have 65+ staff and offices in two states. Image your business is based on making a true difference in people's lives - your clients as well as your staff.... Now imagine being a person with a disability and needing care. Imagine if you could choose your carer and how great it would be if your personalities clicked - like you instantly got on with them. Best friends. Soul mates. Now imagine as CEO to make this happen you'll need to create a website showcasing your team. Imagine as part of the process you hire a photographer and say, 'Take headshots, one for each of my 65+ staff. The photos must show everyone's individual authentic personality to help our clients personality-match with their support workers - let's face it, we all love being around people we click with.' Then imagine seeing the photos for the first time and loving them. I guess if this was you, you might send a message like this: "Omg Jo I'm crying with so much happiness and pride. The photos are AHMAZZINGGGG.... thank you so much. You really have captured everybody's personality. I can't thank you enough." Call me a sadist - I like making my clients cry! The incredible business savvy and down-right gorgeous Angela from Equenti Leadership and Learning came into the studio to refresh her photos. You see, when you go from blonde to brunette and change your straight locks to embracing your natural curls - it makes good business sense to show up on your website and social media pages looking like you are now. Your photos must be up-to-date, current, vi...able, and relevant. If they're not you're doing yourself a genuine and potentially brand-damaging disservice. If there's a disconnect with how you are in real life and how you are online - you'll lose buyers - and no one what's that, right! How are you showing up in your photos? 07.01.2022 This week also saw us photographing the strong, passionate, and brave CEO of All States Training RTO #32577 and breast cancer survivor - De'Anne Stegert. WOW, this woman is one determined power-packed boss-lady who's also incredibly caring, giving, and fun!!! Like many who invest in professional personal brand photography, De'Anne had several reasons to make this a priority. And there's one, in particular, I'd love to share with you as it's not often spoken about yet many bus...iness owners are unknowingly experiencing the same problem. As De'Anne put it - online and in her marketing she visually 'sinks into the rest of her staff members'. But why is blending into staff a problem when it comes to marketing? People prefer to do business with an individual they know and trust. So when no one stands out you create a barrier for your audience making it hard for them to connect. And if they don't connect they won't trust. And if they won't trust, unfortunately, that means they won't spend their money with you. However, when you put yourself out there in your marketing and regularly show up in photos you naturally create trust. And trust builds long-lasting relations and more sales, which is what we all want, right? Great news for De'Anne, this is all about to change for her now she's invested in brand photos. 03.01.2022 With all the doom and gloom around atm, I'm feeling really, really, really hungry!!! Imagine, I'm your ideal client. I'm scrolling through social media, procrastinating about making dinner for the family - it's a very real struggle coming up with new meals which are both scrumptious and nutritious. Or maybe I'm having some me-time, but finding yummy and healthy meals to make is always in the back of my mind. And then your post pops up in my feed.... If your post is just words - I'm going to scroll right past it. Text by itself just doesn't grab people's attention. If your post has a stock photo - I'm very likely to dismiss it. Non-brand stock photos create distrust. People who don't trust you don't buy from you. However if your post has a photo of you doing what you love - you can bet it will grab my attention and I'll read what you have to say!!! OK, so you don't offer food classes like the amazing Renee from Homegrown - Gourmet, Harvest, Gardens, but that doesn't matter - whatever line of business you are in your audience will notice you if you use on-brand photos showing what you love to do. Thumbs up - yesterday was great day!!! Yesterday we were joined by the incredible Debra Lewis from Bookkeeping Institute of Australia. Adding to her collection of brand photos - this is Deb's second time investing in photography with us. ... With a massive increase in online enquiries and bookings (with people wanting to retrain and upskill due to COVID19), a new website under construction and a book launching soon - it was perfect timing for Deb to jump back in front of the camera again and organise new shots.
