19.01.2022 THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR!! Sarah and her mum Anna came to me with a little challenge.. to modernise Anna’s beautiful 80s wedding dress so Sarah could wear it on her special day! It was certainly a journey and I am so happy and not so secretly very proud of how it turned out!! Follow the journey of this stunning 30 year old dress that, when pulled out of its box still had confetti from Anna’s wedding stuck in that waterfall of tulle First photo is the dress in its original... glory with Anna and her new husband. Second photo is Sarah in the same dress on her own wedding day with her new husband. Third and Fourth photos are when I first got the beauty with her very 80s (and so fashionable at that time- are they making a come back?!?) mutton chop sleeves and stunning OTT tulle 3 meter train! 01.01.2022 Back where it all started in Preston Although I have been sewing basically my whole life, qualified for 12 years and worked in the bridal industry for 6, Joy Alterations is only a few years old- what started out as a hobby business (to get some extra funds to take more holidays!) has this year turned into a full time gig. I took the leap (after being made redundant from my bread and butter office job back in June and after some much needed time off) to do what I love and... have so much passion for full time and I’m so lucky to have this awesome skill.
