17.01.2022 Anu, God of Thunder (aka Adel Amin) finished sewing his costume this morning before he headed off to a dress rehearsal for The Civilised Sultan! Be swept away into the foreign lands of Mesopotamia as we journey into the past with a collaboration of music, dance and fantasy! The Civilised Sultan is a theatre production performed by local artists on the Sunshine Coast. The story tells of an account of humanity's history and all the magic and mystery that was uncovered when ...a lamp was finally discovered in the ancient Middle East. Filled with an assortment of oriental and fusion bellydance, live music, LED acts, sword balancing and feature acts from Adel Amin, Bellas Bellydance, Melha Bellydance, Janna Bellydancer, Divine Sparks, Bellydance Sunshine Coast, Angela Aura and more, this theatrical production is a chance to be swept into the realms of fantasy as we relive our past, and set intentions for our future. The Civilised Sultan is a local theatrical production that will spotlight Middle Eastern culture and is a collaboration between local ethnic dance and music groups. The production will be set in Mesopotamia, and will take the audience on a journey through the creation of civilisation, using the story of human history and the inventiveness of fantasy through artistic avenues. The production is planned to debut to Sunshine Coast audiences in October 2020.

13.01.2022 The cast of The Civilised Sultan...a local production encompassing musicians, dancers and singers! Adel (featuring as Anu, God of Thunder) is a cast member. Really impressed with the professional approach to casting, costuming, production, stagong and rehearsal that has been led by the people who secured the Community Grant that is funding this endeavour. 06.01.2022 Drum Role please as we present to you Egyptian Percussionist Adel Amin of Joyful Drumming School! Adel was awarded a scholarship to the Cairo Conservatorium of Music and commenced musical training (percussion, violin and piano) when 10 years old. Since coming to Australia, Adel has worked with a number of Western and Middle Eastern bands including Sahara (now Boom Crash Opera), Black Train (a nine piece Gypsy band based in Sydney), The Amera Show (Sydney,) Javalani (South ...African soul and funk band based in Melbourne), and has performed at the Woodford Festival. Adel continues to share his knowledge and love of Egyptian and Arabic music, particularly his skills as a Percussionist by teaching private classes and Australia-wide workshops. Adel is a cast member of The Civilised Sultan, a theatre production by local artists on the Sunshine Coast. The story is an account of humanity's history and all the magic and mystery that was uncovered when a lamp was finally discovered in the ancient Middle East. 04.01.2022 Hello Joyful Drummers, The enforced lockdown has given me a long period to consider my future plans...I have decided that I will no longer conduct regular workshops in Brisbane or weekly classes on the Sunny Coast.
