23.01.2022 Hello JOSM singers We had a lovely session yesterday working through the 'shared' six pieces, plus Wild Mountain Thyme and Asalaam. Next week we'll focus more on the other songs we've been working on this year - Hamba Natil, Ah Elunde, Don't You wanna Go - and then if time Bayavuya, Senzenina and Ain't Gonna Study War.... Put the end of year break up in your diaries!! It will be Wednesday 9 December at Holly's - 4 Annie St Landsborough. Starting earlier - at 11 am. We'll have a choir session, then a shared lunch (ie bring something to share), and then a spontaneous show of our inner talents (more on this later!). January Camp reminder - it sounds great. 5 day sessions, Wednesday night cabaret, and then Friday night big singalong with other choirs. And lastly - Music repertoire group - you are meeting next week at 11.30 in the Community Hall.

Next week we'll focus on some of the other songs we've worked on this year - Wild Mountain Thyme, Oh My Lordy Lordy, Lonesome Road, Walk with Me - and if time Ah Ehlunde and Asaalam.... We will also bring along a list of all our songs for you to vote on your top 15!

10.01.2022 Hi Josms Welcome to all the new singers who joined us last week! Last week we worked on the second sections of both Tango and Why Walk When You Can Fly - and we'll get to the end of these tomorrow. Hopefully you have been able to download the learning tracks from the website... Tomorrow we'll also aim to reprise Hamba Natil, Walk with Me and Senzenina. Look forward to singing with you all tomorrow
09.01.2022 Hi all It was great to be back together singing today - with a lovely turnout of 18 We learned 2 new songs from the s'winter camp - 'Hold On Just a LIttle While Longer' and 'Alleluia Amen'. And we had a lovely finish with Salaam.... We also had a very quick taster of 'Tango' which we'll start next week. Tracks are available on his website And a reminder so that we can kick of JOSM at 1pm sharp - let's turn up at 12.45 to get all that signing in/paying/setting out chairs caper done!! And for your calendars: - 6th March - Brian is running an afternoon workshop (1.30-4.30 ish) and evening concert (7pm - doors open 6.15 - drinks available) at the Maleny Community Centre. More details next time. - 5th June Sunshine Coast Choral Festival - the straw poll today showed 15 hands-up for JOSM to be involved . Great! Plenty of time to decide what to perform and to get ready.

This week we had more fun with Tango, some more time with Hold On, a start on Why Walk When You Can Fly - and a revisit with Hamba Natil and Asaalam.... Next week we'll keep going with Tango, Why Walk When You Can Fly, Hamba Natil and revisit Walk with Me and Senzenina. Barbara has sent out some lyrics and links to download. See you all Wednesday

02.01.2022 Hello Josms!! This week we sang Ah Elunde (I've attached the words if you want them), Lonesome Road, Walk with Me, O My Lordy Lordy - and I think maybe something else but I can't remember! Next week we'll go through the songs that JOSM will sing on the last Friday night of the Summer Camp (Friday 15 January). ... The hope is that JOSM will join in with Camp people and other choirs for a lovely sing together. So next week we'll go through the 6 'shared with Mouth Orchestra' songs - Salaam,, Love Rescue Me, Chain Gang, Ya Basta, Mandela Nomkubulwana and Sylvie. Brian would also like to do 3 to 4 JOSM songs on our own. SO - for next week we also want to know your fave 3-4 songs that you'd like to sing in January. And lastly - remember the last session with be our break-up bash!! Wednesday December 9, 11am at Holly's - 4 Annie St Landsborough. Bring a share plate - and an 'act' to share after lunch if you feel so inclined!
