08.01.2022 Let's Get Ready To Write! When you write it is important to move your fingers. It helps you to make smoother, smaller and more controlled lines with the pencil. These 'pencil aerobics' help your fingers get ready to move the pencil: Woody Woodpecker - Hold pencil ready to write (tripod grasp), flex and straighten your fingers to make the pencil 'peck'.... Inchy Inchworm - Hold pencil ready to write (tripod grasp) and crawl all the way to the end of the pencil and back to the top again, keeping fingers in a tripod grasp. Windmills - Hold pencil ready to write (tripod grasp), and see if you can make it turn in 360 degree circles. Try this 5 times

07.01.2022 Do you have a fussy eater? Fussy eaters may: - Show very strong likes or dislikes for certain foods... - Baulk at the smell, colour, texture or shape of foods - Only eat a very limited range of foods - Eat very slowly and become disengaged at the table - Refuse to try new foods - Become anxious at mealtimes - Prefer drinks over food - Will not eat foods that are touching each other on the plate Fussy eating is part of a child's development. Children's appetites will fluctuate depending on how active they are and if they are busy growing. It's also normal for children to love a particular food one day, then refuse to eat it the next. The good news is children are likely to get less fussy as they grow older, so hang in there!
