24.01.2022 1st job out of the new booth, ( I must admit my old mate Irish was right..... painting in this thing all day will help me drop 20kgs in no time... but it works). We had a customer approach us a few weeks ago wanting to know if we could sneek them in before Christmas... it was a push to make it happen but we got the job done. We supplied a new front guard and new indicator, painted it to match the colour of the car, had to buff 1 bit of dust, and then remove the damaged guard and fit the new one. The new guard looks 1million times better then it did. Beautiful purple called kia metallic blue.... go figure...

22.01.2022 Our vehicles are our business. We do our upmost to keep them looking prestige day in and out. We take a lot of pride in our professionalism and presentation. We... represent a lot of different funeral homes across the country and the presentation of our vehicles and staff represents the funeral homes image as well as ours. This van is only 2 years old but to keep up with the new look it was time for a few touch ups. We take care in what we do. Thanks to JP Customs in Mackay Nth QLD for the incredible fast turn around and attention to detail in making this van look as if it’s straight off the show room floor again. 22.01.2022 So we've had a pretty big job in the shed so its been keeping us busy over the past few weeks, and productive progress is not possible with out good quality products. We use CAMSTRIP automotive paint stripper for when we need to remove paint back to bare metal without the worry of heat warping panels. Heres a small video i shot a week or so ago showing you how it works. This was our first aplication.... i love it!!!

22.01.2022 Its been crazy busy here but we havent exactly been painting alot... this is the beginning of the new shop that is based at Grasstree Beach!!

20.01.2022 Long days and long nights! Hard work and dedication gets rewarded.... we've got Mathew Kings holden 1 tonner back to get its colour sand and buff. I forgot how good this thing came out off the gun which makes this stage a little bit easier. Will look a million bucks for the lad to drive to his graduation next week!

19.01.2022 Not every job is about painting a car..... Paul Anderson is building a killer engine for his supercharged outlaw Camaro drag car. We painted this a year or so ago and didnt realise the reaction that would happen with the parts being magnesium! After some serious research we got them back in, stripped it back to bare metal, acid washed everything, then acid etched the parts, skim filled a few minor dents and sprayed it with a custom metallic black and DNA diamond clear (all at no cost as it was our mistake in the first place). The outcome...... KILLER!!

19.01.2022 Its been a long time between posts and this has been a long time coming.... a deal popped up that we just couldnt pass up..... we're finally open full time and with some TLC this is going to look shit hot in the JP Customs shed!

16.01.2022 Kain brought in some tired old Subaru brake calipers for us to tidy up last week. They were a tired shade of red and the brake dust was literally baked onto them. After a good clean we sanded them down, etch primed them, then applied some white over the front face. We then placed a subaru stencil over the white and painted the caliper in a custom metallic black. We then removed the stensil and applied 3 coats of clear to leave us with some super sexy calipers.... the pics speak for themselves!!

16.01.2022 So we got 95% of the work done on Mattys ute over the weekend... all thats left is a few stonechip touchups. We started by blocking the ghost flames with a hard block and 1500grit wet sandpaper, we then moved to an orbital sander and completely sanded the doors, front guards and bonnet with 2000 grit, then 3000grit and lastly 5000grit trizact sand paper. We then moved to the polishing stage starting with farecla G3 cutting compound, then Farecla (stage 2) scratch and swirl remover then a quick hand polish and a wax over the top for that extra protection. I have to say the results were freakin AWESOME!

15.01.2022 What alot of people dont understand about automotive painting is that you can spend so much money on the best prep work only to be let down by using bottom to mid range qualty products for the finished results. While JP Customs is only new to the scene, we strive for nothing short of perfection and we achieve this by using nothing but the best top quality AUSTRALIAN MADE products. We trust DNA CUSTOM PAINTS!

15.01.2022 So our final inbetween job done and dusted for 2018. This one was a real test as the doors couldnt be removed and the booth was around 45 degrees while getting it painted. I have to say it turned out pretty smick in the end. Big thank you to Matt Christensen, David Clayton, Ian Pietzner, Sarah Pietzner, for helping me remove and refit it and a big thank you to Tim Muirhead (our customer) for all of his patience while we battled the weather in our "Tropical booth". The next project for us to finish will be the big XY we have been working on for a while but from all of us here at JP Customs we hope you had a great christmas and a very happy and safe new year!!!

09.01.2022 This little job has been kicking our butts for weeks..... but it looks like JP is finally getting ontop of it. It's half way there and hopefully finally finished tomorrow!!

05.01.2022 Dwayne came to us a few years ago with a very mechanically tuff but visually tired XE Falcon. This was our first paint job in our outdoor spray booth and the weather tried to beat us with weeks on end of rain but with our persistence we think the outcome was worth it!

03.01.2022 We managed to find some time this afternoon to get around to Darren Wyllies place to get the SS Commodore back into 1 piece. To say it turned out good is an understatement. The colour matched absolutely perfectly and from a car that looked "nice" a week is now looking freakin unreal today. Well done Darren for your detailing work mate, shes had a massive transformation and all credit to you champion.

02.01.2022 Sometimes we just dont know why they do it.... A previous shop decided this car needed a 7mm thick "skim" of filler over every panel!! Some panels are straight enough that they almost dont need any body filler and a "skim" means the filler should be almost transparent! Atleast the car will be lighter when we're finished with it.

01.01.2022 We had Darren Wyllie ask us if we could help him out. He's currently detailing a gorgeous Red VX Commodore that is only a Sunday driver and has been meticulously looked after.... Only problem is it had a heap of stonechips and a decent dent on the driverside front guard and the front bumper had the usual gutter scrapes, stress fractures and a nice gash just under where the guard was damaged. So we jumped into action and got the STING RED colour matched at Wholesale Paint Gr...oup Mackay, repaired the damage to both the front guard and bumper, plastic primed the bare plastic and etch primed the bare metal, we then layed a full sealer coat on both pieces and then layed down 3 coats of colour. The end results look great and tomorrow we will cut and buff and refit the parts. Shout out to our friend Paul De Jong for showing me how to do a few things quicker today giving us the same result but in half the time, and to Wayne Robertson for letting me use his booth at Hampden towing and panel beating services.
