24.01.2022 Clean your bathroom with vodka U heard right lol Got an unloved bottle of vodka left over from a gathering? If you dont fancy making cocktails, you can always use it to get your porcelain fixtures shining! Dab some onto a soft cloth and give them a rub.

23.01.2022 Top tip for today If the grandchildren have gone crazy with the marker pens on your bannisters, table or anything else made from wood, rub it gently with a little bit of toothpaste to lift off the stain. Then go and give them a good telling off and a nice (easy to erase) set of pencils instead!

23.01.2022 Today's top tip Copper is having a moment in fashion right now, and copper pans are a gorgeous way to modernise your kitchen. If they get dirty after use, there's a cheap solution hiding in your cupboard. Humble tomato sauce is actually great for cleaning, and will make copper pans shine after a quick rub.

20.01.2022 Happy Tuesday everyone Tuesday's top tip Clean your bath with a grapefruit Get rid of water marks or stains in your bathtub by cutting a grapefruit in half, sprinkling on some rock salt and giving it a good scrub. Have the other half for a nutritious breakfast!

19.01.2022 Tip for the weekend Removes scuffs from wooden furniture with a walnut Have you scuffed your bannisters with the washing basket, or knocked your skirting board removing your shoes? It sounds weird, but a walnut (without a shell) rubbed onto scuffed or scratched wooden furniture, floors or bannisters will work a treat.

19.01.2022 Sunday's top tip Use a wet rubber glove to remove pet hair If Fido and Felix have fluffed up your house and are making you sneeze, there's a cheap and easy solution. A damp washing up glove can easily be dragged over soft furnishings like sofas and curtains (and even trouser legs!) to remove animal fur.

18.01.2022 Tuesday's tip of the day Stop your washing machine from smelling with vinegar Stinky washing machine? Run it empty on a hot wash with a cup of white vinegar inside. This will also help remove limescale and mildew, making the machine last longer and clean more efficiently.

17.01.2022 Saturday top tip Polish leather with toothpaste If you've got a leather sofa, jacket or shoes that are a bit scuffed, you can buff them up easily with toothpaste. Just make sure you use non-bleaching or non-whitening paste to prevent staining. Rub it in with a soft cloth then rinse off with a damp one.

Secure it with an elastic band and place it anywhere that needs freshening up!

11.01.2022 Today's top tip. As well as having great health benefits, olive oil can be handy around the home. Put a few drops onto a duster and use it to polish your wooden furniture so much nicer than chemical polish, and it won't cause any strong smells.

10.01.2022 Top tip for ur toilets About once a week, I sprinkle some baking soda around the inside of the toilet to coat, then dump a cup of undiluted white vinegar into the water. I use a reusable toilet brush to scrub and the chemical reaction of the baking soda and vinegar removes stains and any lingering smell. This also works externally (I use on the bottom of the toilet and the floor) to remove that boy smell from bathrooms. Ive also found that the urine smell that can linger ...(especially with potty-training boys) is often hiding in the hinges of the toilet seat and under the bolt caps on the side of the toilet. At our house, these get removed every 2 weeks or so and thoroughly cleaned. I finish up toilet cleaning with a spray and wipe down with undiluted hydrogen peroxide.

07.01.2022 Thursdays top top Clean your window blinds with vinegar Blinds can be a magnet for dust, dead insects and floating pet fluff. Get them looking good as new with an old sock. Mix one part white vinegar to one part warm water, and give your blinds a rub with an old sock to remove dust and grime.

06.01.2022 Today's Top Tip Clogged drain....no. worries Bicarbonate of soda to the rescue yet again! This time it's a marvel for unblocking hair or food-clogged drains. Pour one part baking soda, followed by one part vinegar down it, then cover with a wet cloth as the two react with one another to clean the drain naturally. Wait five minutes and then run some hot water to clear

05.01.2022 Monday's top tip Natural Air Freshener In a medium saucepan, simmer a quart of water with natural ingredients to freshen and clean the air. Just make sure not to let the water evaporate off completely! My favorite combinations are:... 1 sliced lemon, 2 tablespoons rosemary and a dash of vanilla 1 sliced lime and 1 piece chopped ginger root 1 sliced orange, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg and cloves (smells like pumpkin pie!) 2 tablespoons thyme and 1 sliced lime

04.01.2022 Thursday tip Kitchen cleaning tip: descale your kettle with vinegar Remove limescale from your kettle by filling it with half white vinegar, half water and soaking overnight. In the morning, give it a rinse and the limescale should disappear. Not only will your kettle last longer, but your drinks should taste better too (assuming you've washed away the vinegar!)

01.01.2022 Friday's tip for the day Make a natural laundry whitener with lemon If your whites and linens have gone yellow or are marked with orange foundation stains, squeeze the juice of one lemon into 4.5l of hot water, and soak your clothes in it for an hour. Then rinse in the washing machine or by hand and dry.
