22.01.2022 The clients were very happy to have the new retaining wall replace the old one. The recent storms had sped up the deterioration which were almost leaning on the house. JR Construction handled all the moving parts of this project. Engineering design and certification, council inspections, plumbing for storm water, fencing, concreting, excavation and construction.

22.01.2022 3 day operation. - Drill piers and have meeting with certifier for pier inspection. - Stand posts and pour concrete - Stack wall, install drainage materials and backfill.... Ready for the new house construction.

22.01.2022 You know you’re in the client’s good books when they keep getting you back for more! On top of a 30m2 wall, a 15 x 12 meter slab for the shed pictured left, 2 x 46,000 L rainwater tanks with accompanying concrete slabs, several concrete paths and a ton of landscaping; they’ve asked us to come back to extend their retaining wall a few bays to bring the natural ground heights together. This will integrate the new shed to the existing home by making a comfortable walkway between... the two - blending in our mulched garden bed to the new footpaths. @ Newcastle, New South Wales

20.01.2022 Stage 1 completed, side wall holding up difference between clients and neighbors yard. This wall is a smooth finish with charcoal coloring. Very tight fit for the machine but nothing our operator couldn't handle! Height starts at 600mm and tapers up to 1400mm! Moving on now to retaining the front yard with a stepped wall allowing a garden bed in between. Photos to follow!

20.01.2022 The clients were very happy with the new retaining wall. With the recent storms the old timber wall deteriorated quickly, nearly touching the house. JR Construction provided all building works and managed the other trades needed start to finish for this project. Engineering, council inspection, plumbing, fencing, excavation, concreting and construction.

19.01.2022 Colour scheme to suit. The front yard was slowly eroding away at this property so in order to prevent future damage to existing front fence the clients required the installation of a low 600mm wall. Due to the height not exceeding 600mm we were able to get started straight away as it is classified as an exempt development not requiring council approval. The steel posts have a silver look which makes a nice finish however as shown above they can be painted to suit the colour of the sleepers or the surrounding décor.

19.01.2022 Waterfall edge feature to finish off this deck. Making a gorgeous feature and adding amazing street appeal this is a great way to finish off any deck. With the roof materials ordered we will be back soon to install the awning and lastly will be installing a garden bed to the front to tie together with the front yard. @ Maitland, New South Wales

12.01.2022 2 Days 2 walls! The boys were under the pump to get these two walls built in order to allow construction to continue on this job site. The previous landscaper had cancelled on the builder at the last minute which gave us no time to spare in completing this project. With two big days of effort and no small amount of rain, the JR construction team got stuck in and delivered on time.

08.01.2022 Classic wall replacement, we often get calls to replace a 20 year old timber wall. The new galvanized steel posts and concrete sleepers will last much longer then that!!

07.01.2022 Thankyou to everybody for the likes and lovely comments. It has been our pleasure to present to you just a few examples of our capabilities here at JR Construction & Retaining walls. We hope you will enjoy all of the future posts to follow.

03.01.2022 Shed development! The client wanted to build a 9 x 9 metre shed for the back yard but couldn't do this with the current layout. Contending with tricky logistics and a 50m drop off onto a nature reserve we orchestrated a major excavation acquiring the new ground heights needed. The client has chosen the 2 metre smooth face sleepers with a charcoal colored finish. The colour in the sleepers is an oxide added to the concrete batch which means it will never deteriorate or need recoating. @ Lake Macquarie

01.01.2022 Out with the old and in with the new! A common job requested of us from our clients is to replace timber walls that are leaning over, old or have rotted. Our clients are always impressed with the strength and structural durability of the steel post and concrete sleeper walls we install. This is especially apparent when they see the pier depths; not only do we install the steel posts in a 450mm diameter hole to be filled with concrete, but we always ensure the steel posts are further in the ground then what is out of the ground.
