24.01.2022 RBWS 2020 sale bulls. JRL are offering 4 young sires. We’re very happy how they’re coming along. Scans, weights and semen tests to come very shortly, as will the offical videos. We’ll look forward to seeing everyone there!

23.01.2022 We currently have 2 young horse people here at JRL with limited spaces available to take outside horses for training. Britney Moodie is currently available to take young or old horses requiring some miles, she can start them on a mechanical cow and cattle. She does a great job getting them lovely and quiet also. 16.01.2022 Another young sire headed to Big Country on 8-9 February. This is JRL LARRIKIN MANSO. A JDH BOSWICK son from NCC LADY JO LIBERTY (JDH ELMO) a very soft, easy keeping bull with beautiful loose skin. He’s Lot 439- late in the day, but well worth the wait!

15.01.2022 BESANTHER VALE MISS JOANNE 82, dam of lots 241, 497, 498. With Brahman Week less than a week away, we thought we’d do up a little footage of a couple of the dams representing our bulls this year. Hopefully a bit helpful to people possibly unable to make the sale. This is the first offering from this lovely young donor, with more sires being offered later in the season also. She has a great set of daughters here about to be joined, and a great run of IVF calves dropping now, we’re very excited about her! We’ll look forward to seeing you all there

14.01.2022 While we’re in the process of thanking England Cattle Co, we should also make mention of our recent purchase of the Australian rights to POLLED MADONNA, a fantastic donor cow and producer. A super beefy, long, feminine female with a very successful and impressive produce record. We’re extremely excited to be including Madonna into our polled battery and utilise her as our foundation female! Thanks again Benton and Brooke!

JDH BOSWICK son from EL JA DIVA, who is from the same dam as the mother of EL JA BABY DOLL and VANITY FAIR, making this guy very closely related to both super cows. Like his brother, he’s very quiet, with great skin and bone and a very easy doer. He’s semen tested 80% with a 40cm scrotal.

14.01.2022 New beginnings! JRL STUD is proud to introduce the inclusion of Polled Maverick to our team! We absolutely loved the power and thickness this young sire exhibits. Beautiful character, bone, easy fleshing-so many boxes ticked, and YES, he’s polled. He’s only a baby, but we feel he has a very bright future. We’d like to take the opportunity to thank the whole team at England cattle Co, particularly Benton, for all the help, messages, phone calls, photos and videos- we didn’t make it easy on you! We should also make mention of how impressed we were with England Cattle CO’s strong commercial mindedness, and the importance of their herd being self sufficient, structurally correct and fertile in the paddock, on pasture. We have full confidence in Maverick aligning these extremely important traits within our herd.

12.01.2022 What a week! Where do we start..firstly a massive thank you to all of the support we’ve received over the past few weeks. As most people knew, not only did we have a horse sale, but a bull sale which overlapped to prepare for this year. We were absolutely blown away with the NUTRIEN Classic results. Thanks to the buyers and underbidders on all of our lots- we hope you enjoy them as much as we did! 12.01.2022 With most of the lead bulls from our draft now pictured, we thought we’d save arguably the best for last! This is lot 320, JRL JOKER. He’s a V8 660 (USA) son from non other than the dam of our $80,000 RBWS bull, JRL JERONIMO- BESANTHER VALE MISS JOANNE. He’s a real sire in the making, with a tremendous amount of ‘grunt’ and power. He’s correct, thick, heavy built and extremely quiet. Look out for him at BIG COUNTRY. He’s semen tested 80% with a 39cm scrotal. Morphology and weights & scans coming soon. Videos will be done shortly!

11.01.2022 Here’s another of the lead bulls headed to RBWS 2020. Freddie was a standout at the testing today...974kg, 148 EMA, 90% semen. We’re selling him 3/4 share full Poss. With the semen already collected (IVF quality) and 25 maiden heifers calving as we speak, he’s a safe bet. A soft, easy doer in the paddock, outstanding temperament, excellent feet and bone. Make sure you come and inspect him at Rocky!

10.01.2022 We’d like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe New Year. We’re almost back in full swing preparing both Landmark Classic horses and Big Country bulls. Here’s a sneak peek of lot 323, JRL ROLEX (Poll) this afternoon. He’s the first son of Brahrock Nomex to sell and the baby of the draft. Big, growthy, great bone and character to this rising 2yo. Keep an eye out for plenty of photos and videos over the next few weeks of both our bovine and equine prospects!

09.01.2022 We’re on our way! We set sail for Tamworth yesterday, and stayed with our great friends and long time supporters of the NUTRIEN Classic, Brett and Joy Pechey overnight. This is lot 309, Purrfect EVERYTIME having her first look and work on a goat! Brett said they were good to work and he wasn’t wrong! We’ll all leave in the morning, see you down there.

07.01.2022 A very special one...the Ladies Foundation charity horse! Lot 459. We’re very proud and honoured to offer a lovely gelding for the chosen charity’s. It is also a bit extra special, as he is sired by our great friends Denis and Jane Simm’s wonderful stallion QXH BONITAS STYLISH OAK. We sadly lost a true legend and great mate in Denis last year, so this one’s for you mate!

04.01.2022 A little behind the scenes footage of ECC Polled Maverick 302/9! Look at all that POWER in an attractive, POLLED package. We could not be more excited to par...tner with our Australian friends Rachel and Jason Leitch of JRL Stud on our progressive, POLLED herd sire. The future is bright four our Top Gun! Fun fact, Polled Maverick’s sire, Bardia Ambassador, is an Australian bull that we imported semen on several years ago. Mike and Crickett attended the World Brahman Congress in Austria in 2016. During one of the tours, they saw Bardia at our friends Eureka Creek Brahmans, and were so impressed with him that they worked on importing semen to use in our herd. In 2017, Bardia was named Australia Herd Bull of the Year. He continues to make an impact on our herd and we are completely humbled to know that his genetics, through our cowherd influence, will be impacting the JRL Stud breeding program. Polled Maverick will be on display at the upcoming International Show in Waco, Texas. Stop by and see us March 23-27.

02.01.2022 Hard at it on his school holidays! Given some outstanding weather, we’ve had IGT out today retrieving eggs from the donors for our IVF program next week. Boyd is here with Besanther Vale Miss Joanne 82- Rafael did a great job with her today, she’s 6 months in calf and still delivered plenty of eggs, she never lets us down! The snoopy bull behind her is her first son, set to sell at RBWS.
