Learning how to play the flute has been incredible for calming my nervous system for two reasons 1. Sound therapy is highly researched and known to help calm the sympathetic nervous system. 2. This was one of my traumatic events, a broken/shattered leg in Vietnam on holiday. It was shattered so severely they wanted to amputate my leg but I said no and got out of that hospital and went back to my hotel room without pain medication until the next day when finally an emergency flight could come and pick me up. Traumatic YES...painful YES. The ...long road of rehabilitation has helped me understand how quickly our minds can go into dark places and put doubt in your mind if I’ll ever be the same. If trauma hasn’t been dealt with properly then it will manifest through your belief system and impact every decision you make moving forward with your life.
