21.01.2022 This week I have seen the Facebook post doing the rounds of businesses going out of business owing to COVID and the bottom line to the post is to remind us to be grateful that we actually have a job. I respect and admire that sentiment, we should be happy about our job. But this week I have had 5 conversations with staff of various businesses, where I asked one question and they unloaded on me. Not at me but on me! In #JTInTheRaw this week lets explore what we are really doing with our team. What message are we delivering through our own communication. #JTInTheRawShow207
20.01.2022 Leaders manage their emotions . . . they are not emotionless, they manage their emotions. Your language, demeanour and emotions will all impact the culture and feel in your team, department or business! Let’s discuss this in #JTInTheRaw this week . . .
19.01.2022 Watch on replay now ... Your business is no different to your body. An annual check up with a various medical experts helps us identify if we have any health issues but in business we rarely conduct thorough health checks. In #JTInTheRaw let’s discuss why we don’t do annual check ups on our business and the power of that check up in our business. Real examples of what check ups find. If we continue the metaphor of human medical check ups, you see a GP Dr who identifies any ma...rkers that could lead to illness or disease. They then send you to a specialist who is an expert in that field. The same in business - there are experts that can help specific areas of your business, so get an expert not a generalist. My top tips for you: * Numbers tell us the real truth in our business - they are your health markers; * Having fresh eyes look over your business, they'll see things you don't; * Dive deep in to your own feelings, if something doesn't feel right then it probably isn't. Finally, just like with with humans, early diagnosis of a business illness increases the rate of survival. Enjoy #JTInTheRawShow219

How do you determine the training focus? 5. How do you evaluate the success of the training? Oh and share your #1 resource for team development - book, website, podcast! #JTInTheRawShow205
18.01.2022 OMG people love making up, telling and hearing stories! It is hard wired into us as humans! So the problem for us as leaders is IF we do not fill in ALL the blanks in our communication to our team they will fill them in. I was reminded of how detrimental this can be for a business this week, so let me share this example as a warning for everyone in #JTInTheRaw! #JTInTheRawShow214

12.01.2022 Courage is the ability to do something that frightens you or the strength in the face of pain or grief. And for us as leaders we need courage more than ever. Courage will distinguish a great leaders from excellent managers. Courageous leaders take risks. They make decisions with the potential for revolutionary change. They ask themselves the most difficult and perhaps painful questions.... This week in #JTInTheRaw lets talk courage! Your challenge, develop these 3 types of courage I read about this week: TRY Courage: Courage of initiative and action making first attempts and stepping up to the plate. TRUST Courage: Courage of confidence in others letting go of the need to control situations, having faith in people and being open to change. TALK Courage: Courage of voice raising difficult issues, providing tough feedback and sharing unpopular opinions. Enjoy #JTInTheRawShow206
11.01.2022 Watch #JTInTheRaw on REPLAY now. I was reminded this week, several times, on how to close a sale! And it’s not just asking for the sale. There is a difference between needing and wanting a product or service and when ‘wanting’ is involved it doesn’t matter how well you know your scripts, NLP, rapport building skills or how hard you close, there is something far greater that will lead not just a sale but a loyal, long term customer! I think you might just love what I say th...is week in #JTInTheRaw and perhaps even share with your team, friends and engage! #JTInTheRawShow211 See more
05.01.2022 It's not all work for me . . . In 2020 Netball Australia looked for interesting stories behind people in the netball community across the country. I feel humbled for them to feature my transition from rugby coach of budding Wallabies to U11 girls! There is a place for everyone in the #NetballNation!

In #JTInTheRaw I share how throw away comments I made did offend someone and I had no idea! So the lessons you take away from today is: * Watch the language and how you say things; * Ensure you have a culture that elicits honest, brutal feedback;... * Help yourself as a leader by writing a "User Manual" for your Team - i.e. how to work with you as a leader. Listen and learn today from my mistakes so you don’t make the same ones! A very raw #JTInTheRawShow204.
