25.01.2022 Oh no! Ive done it again!! I wrote with this brush, washed it out but didnt taper it into its right shape as it dried. And now, its crooked! Hard to write with an uncontrollable crooked brush..... can I fix it? I hope to wash it in shampoo, condition it, let it dry with conditioner in to the right shape then rinse & try to write. ... In the meantime, "The promise" ....a quote for nature lovers goes like this; "I promise to do one good deed each day, to plant ten trees each year and to take care of trees everywhere. " Know a tree lover? Tag them below because they might enjoy these sentiments.

23.01.2022 Rough layout.... A little something Im working on for the next window dressed at the framers in Guildford. There will be five limited edition prints. Only. About family. Sepia tones & wood. Today, I ran out & purchased a huge sheet of paper to do the final piece on at $17 each! Plus, two burnt sienna brown toned inks to do the final artwork & lettering on.....nearly $60! ... And then there will be the printing on archival paper. All those things behind the scenes that lead to the final, glorious (hopefully) artwork that has not been done before. Which, makes it even more unique. Bah ha, creative life See more

21.01.2022 Do you like crows or ravens? Well, theres an exhibition of them in the two front windows at the framers in Guildford. Last few days & all you have to do is stand outside & read the calligraphy, poems & window by me & hand painted crows by Miriam Gardiner. 20.01.2022 I might be hopping to it with a broken ankle & not in my studio for weeks. However, I am still writing at your service for any quotes, written gifts you need. Although nothing too big in size. Im writing out some wedding invites this week so this calligrapher is still at your service. Doing what I do best. First stop, collect my sumi ink..... its the best before I recuperate at my brothers & then my daughters.

19.01.2022 Favourite thing? Writing names for events, weddings, dinner parties or in front of a crowd. Why? Because people love to see their names looking beautiful, something they are surprised at & something they get to keep. It's called happiness.

18.01.2022 Hand written cards off to South Australia. Written with a flexible nib, you have to know how to manipulate the edge or you just end up a mess! I mixed copper powder with blue ink so that it catches the light on bits of the letters. Did you know you can drop off your xmas envelopes to me if you dont want to address them? You do have to supply the envelopes & yes, I'll even write on your cards. ... My to do list: A birthday gift, a wedding anniversary gift, a logo for a Queensland fashion label, another anniversary gift and a 21st for a young man that you have never seen before. Just finished a gift to a daughter, Dad wrote her a poem. Need a gift, ask me.... I have prints in studio ready to go & you can book a visit too. Write on.

14.01.2022 A wedding story. Aw. Its such a delight when a client ( who I secretly worked with on a gift for his first anniversary); sends me a picture of the gift to his bride. Framed & up on the wall. Of course, his speech is the smaller one & hers is the most entertaining, larger one.( Perfectly normal, females have usually more sentiments to share & say.... just how it is). ... We had little time & when Damian walked into my studio he was torn between this & another idea I had on show.... we stayed with his first thoughts & it worked out beautifully. Makes me happy, very happy because it shared the luuurrrvvee. And thats what its all about. However, so lovely to receive a thank you too. #wedding #firstanniversary #gifts #whataguy Ps; you need to organise this two to three weeks before the date of which it is presented.

14.01.2022 This clever young lady is training to be a pilot & she asked me to paint her name & nickname on her head phone bag. (Loads of layering by brush here) She was so thrilled when she picked it up & I was so glad she was delighted. I also designed her name to be lasered onto both head phones. Head phones are like gold to a pilot. She was so lovely, had her pathway all planned & it was such a thrill to chat to her. I admired her young spirit immensely as she drove off to fly a plane.

08.01.2022 A peek into my laundry!! On my wall is an installation /mobile I made. The incoming gust of wind is me blowing on the butterflies to move them...... and, the incoming plane at the end is also very timely. ... They have positive words on them with suggestions of "fly" .... 04.01.2022 How my working day begins..... today, I'm designing a logo for artist friend Miriam Gardiner over the ambiance of coffee & white noise chatter. It's all free hand, (you can't get this flow by digital) first sketch in pencil then details put in. A few takes to go until I get it hand over perfect. This one I've designed a pencil & paint brush in the capitals. I've got two more in the wings at home to design plus a job like no other for an architect. Then, get some art o...n bluethumb which requires a day's effort of taking images insitu, loading etc etc. Some where in there I will probably be over whelmed by tiredness, jolly broken leg healing has a mind of it's own & I'm still struggling through daily chores. However, back to cafe-ing amongst the ladies at leisure, back to work & my coffee! See more

04.01.2022 Well, the good news is I will have plenty of time to work on my website. And looking at things I can do! The bad news is; Ive broken my ankle & will be having an op next week. I missed the last step, carrying a friends dog to the vet after that dog was just run over. The dog is recovering & better so we will recover together. Over & out, Im drifting off to sleep again.
