23.01.2022 I have decided to start sharing with you the happenings of my little workshop. If you have any queries dont hesitate to ask. And most importantly dont forget to like the page if you see something you like. So, to kick it off, Ill tell you about Ruby. Ruby came in with a piece of fabric and a photo of a dress she wanted me to replicate to wear at her graduation from law school. I suggested to her to simplify the model to a more styled form but keeping it in to her Pacific Islands heritage. The simplification was necessary as she wanted to also wear the necklace seen on the second photo, a necklace her own mother made and sent from Vanuatu.

21.01.2022 One happy customer Shortening of the sleeves for a brand new winter St Joseph's Nudgee College jacket. Left a bit of room to amend later as the student grows taller. Stay warm and safe everyone.

20.01.2022 I transformed the back of this wedding dress to adjust the size of the young girl who came to me with a short notice. Although she was very slim, the dress was to tight for her and the seam allowances were very small. We decided to change the original overlapping zip for a invisible one which needs less room to be sewn. The thickness of the material was another problem to resolve because invisible zips dont work easily with it. The solution was to attach tiny loops in selected spots to hide the invisible zip (which is not invisible at all) keeping as well the original look of the dress.

17.01.2022 An accurate hem in a long dress has to be done marking its bottom with chalk. The process requires a little bit of an effort but its worth it.

15.01.2022 Sometimes my customers come for a last minute alteration, pants very often. I enjoy doing that, solving a problem for someone who wants to look smart at work, at an appointment or any other unexpected event. I also alter wedding and formal dresses with a moments notice and it is very rewarding to see peoples smiles when they get their clothes as they wanted.

13.01.2022 Handing over one of the last jobs. Ribbon with logo sewn onto the hem of footy shorts. Enjoy 2020 St Josephs Nudgee College Seniors!!

12.01.2022 It is great to see the beginning of change in the fashion industry. This designer is finding more sustainable resources, such as fabric scraps, and is still delivering gorgeous and quite unique pieces of clothing. So how can I help you to revive that dress or pair of pants you wore years ago and cant seem to part with and give them a new look?

12.01.2022 My customers are very kind. Sometimes they bring me flowers specially young girls who are happy with the alterations of their wedding dresses or the ones who come for a last minute alteration like Georgia, who came this morning to get her dress tailored for a wedding she is attending after lunch. These are her beautiful flowers in my studio.

08.01.2022 It was my youngest daughters birthday yesterday and we spent the late afternoon looking through photo albums. There were lots of baby photos, younger self ones too, of the time were me and my daughters were newly arrived and also found this one. This one was one of my first jobs circa 2002. They were seven cousins all graduating high school on the same year. My husband had bought me a second hand sewing machine with which I was able to start my little business and the client required 3 dresses and 4 collar shirts made from scratch all in the same vibrant collar. Once the job was completed I was able to purchase my very first Janome machine. This became my favourite brand.

05.01.2022 I love making clothes from scratch. I know for some people is a relief to find someone who can make a garment for that special occasion they are looking forward to.
