12.01.2022 NEWS: Recognition for Volunteers One of our own Coaches has been selected as a finalist in the 2020 Tasmanian Volunteering Awards Sport, Recreation & Service Groups Award. Many of our sporting activities would not run without the generous support of volunteers who turn up consistently and dedicate their spare time to help with a huge variety of tasks. ... Mike Griffiths had been selected as a finalist for 2020. Like many of our coaches and supporters in our great sport of Judo, Mike is a regular volunteer and coaches at Hobart PCYC, he is currently the Sate coach, a member of the Tasmanian Board and has been running the Coach Accreditation for Tasmania. Outside Tasmania, Mike is responsible for the National implementation of Coach Accreditation Framework for Judo Australia and was instrumental in drawing up the system. It is great to see judo recognised in this type of award.
