21.01.2022 "Here, we share a poem from Oodgeroo, an excerpt from her book My People, a bewitching collection of Oodgeroo’s poems that belongs on the bookshelves of every art lover and anyone with an appreciation of the written word. A Song of Hope Look up, my people,... The dawn is breaking, The world is waking To a new bright day, When none defame us, No restriction tame us, Nor colour shame us, Nor sneer dismay. Now brood no more On the years behind you, The hope assigned you Shall the past replace, When a juster justice Grown wise and stronger Points the bone no longer At a darker race. So long we waited Bound and frustrated, Till hate be hated And caste deposed; Now light shall guide us, No goal denied us, And all doors open That long were closed. See plain the promise, Dark freedom-lover! Night’s nearly over, And though long the climb, New rights will greet us, New mateship meet us, And joy complete us In our new Dream Time. To our fathers’ fathers The pain, the sorrow; To our children’s children The glad tomorrow."

13.01.2022 Calling all young emerging writers in the region - this is for you! Please pass on to anyone you know who may be interested in being involved in this great project. Closes 10th September.
11.01.2022 Can you help readers and writers. I cannot remember the name of a book written by two authors on how people survived well and not so well who were caught up in disasters (ship wrecks and plane crashes etc) and isolated for some time from the world. It was research from historical disasters up to the modern day and what we now as a society can learn from this. Google has failed

07.01.2022 Do you know of any young person who has published a book during COVID. Arianne is one such talented year 7. https://www.ariannebannister.com Arianne Bannister is a writer and year 7 student. She developed a love of writing thanks to some inspiring primary school teachers, and started writing award-winning short stories and geek poetry for her nerdy dad. When COVID-19 hit and school started online, she would finish her schoolwork and spend the rest of the day writing and illu...strating her book The Toolfish Build a Home. She lives with three goldfish, two brothers and a saxophone in Saratoga, on the New South Wales Central Coast. She is not sure which is her favourite. 02.01.2022 After careful, diligent, and thoughtful consideration and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community, the March 2021 Jugiong Writers' Festival will not take place as previously announced. So today we’re writing to let you know the Festival has been postponed to the 22nd and 23rd May 2021. Another wonderful festival is being planned for you all after a tough 2020. Stay well and safe
