04.01.2022 Thankyou @noosaopenstudios I’m so so grateful to be part of this wonderful event 9 -18 October 2020, (had to share...) 30 years ago a young girl from the... north of England jumped onto a plane for a pack packing adventure. She meets a boy and never leaves. Julia Carter has been part of Noosa Open Studios for a few years and her work is wonderful. Her paintings overflow with optimism, energy and a sense of celebration; such is her attitude to life. Her degree with honours, in Sculpture and Literature and Diploma of Early Education allude to the tactile, emotive, and playful approach to her work. Each piece is meticulously layered with thick textural brushstrokes, charcoal, collage elements and jewelled-like embellishment carefully interwoven with meaningful symbols. Julia has exhibited widely including Hong Kong, New York, Paris, London, Bologna and throughout Australia where she owns her own studio gallery in Noosa.
