24.01.2022 Wow - take notice employers! Casual Loading Offset - New Fair Work Regulation From 18th December 2018, employees incorrectly classified as a casual maybe be entitled to an offset payment against NES entitlements, of the annual leave the casual should have received. This means you may have to pay Personal and Holiday entitlements on top of the employees casual wage.... What you Need to do: Employee payslips show the casual loading separately to ensure the employee is aware they are a casual and paid the casual loading. Ensure the casual employee is aware the casual loading compensates their relevant NES entitlements. The wording in the casual’s contract should be tailored to meet the wording of the new Fair Work regulation. Thanks for the tip - ICB Client Brief.

20.01.2022 The time has come to avoid sharing office space and computers etc. As of Monday 23/3/20, I will be working from home to minimise the spread of COVID-19. As this is a whole new world, going online for most things, I wanted to reassure you that I am up for the challenge. I have already spoken to some clients about; taking photos of work that needs entering and texting the photo to me your offices have scanners to email me... I can remotely log in to your computers via Teamviewer And most of the expenses work I have been doing for a while now, and I am very comfortable with knowing what an expenses was incurred for. I will no doubt have questions for you, and will be in contact throughout the work day. As I said last Sunday, I have my home office set up to work efficiently online, including; online accounting files /software that I can work on from home using webmail to check emails where required Banking access is as per normal Source documents will be checked against entries on my return to normal work. I will have my daughter home with me also, doing our best to avoid the very rapid spread of the disease. Please feel free to contact me electronically or by phone with any questions.

20.01.2022 Get set for a 3.0% increase to base pay rates. The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.0% increase to minimum wages following its 2019 Annual Wage Review. The new national minimum wage will be $740.80 per week or $19.49 per hour. The increase applies to base pay rates from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2019.
20.01.2022 Today's lesson - if you use MYOB authentication on your phone, and you leave your phone at home, it is really handy to have the back up codes already on the computer - if you haven't downloaded them - DO IT NOW!

08.01.2022 Starting work around school or uni this year? Do you know how to spot if something isn’t right at work? Alarm bells should ring if you: don’t know your pay... rate (or the award or enterprise agreement that applies to you) aren’t getting pay slips don’t get to take breaks aren’t paid for all the time you work (including opening, closing and out of hours meetings) are being paid cash-in-hand. Remember to keep your own record of when you work so you can check you’re being paid correctly. Our Record My Hours app will do it automatically for you. And if there's a problem with your pay or other issues at your work, we can help. Even if you’re on a visa we have an arrangement with the Department of Home Affairs to support migrant workers to come forward about exploitation. 07.01.2022 If you’re going back to uni while you’re working, you might be wondering what support is available to help you study. It’s worth checking your enterprise agreem...ent or award to see if it includes study leave entitlements. For example, the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award and the Legal Services Award both have rules about paid study leave. You can find info on how to check your award or agreement here: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/awards-and-agreements
04.01.2022 It’s mandatory for your boss to give you a pay slip you shouldn’t have to ask. Keeping an eye on your pay slip is a good way to check you’re being paid corre...ctly. We recommend all employees keep their own record of when they work so they can check their pay is right and raise any issues early. So what should be on your pay slip? It isn’t just the amount that lands in your bank account. Some of the things that need to be on it are: your pay amount (including the before and after tax amounts) if you’re paid hourly, the ordinary hourly rate, the number of hours worked at that rate and the total dollar amount of pay at that rate any loadings, allowances, bonuses, incentive-based payments, penalty rates or other paid entitlements any deductions superannuation contributions.
