21.01.2022 I have been advocating rigorous evaluation of training providers, their methods and courses for many years. But who does the evaluations? Who in the dept has the necessary experience in training course evaluation and who gets to decide what is good and what is not? I mean there is one organisation that has used rubber snakes! Lets get real here folks!!

12.01.2022 The best person for this position will be able to create training opportunities nationwide for our company, focusing on companies require to educate their teams working in areas where there are venomous animals. As Australia's leading training company in this industry, we hold ourselves to a high level of professionalism.

11.01.2022 Hi all! Check out some awesome work by John Baseley! So honoured!

11.01.2022 A night cruising the highway west and east of Georgetown. The juvenile Burtons Legless Lizard was about 10km west and scurried into my crocs through the holes in the side of them. So I walked him to the edge of the road for a pic!! The unfortunate Orange naped snakes were run over by cars that passed me so I was too late to save them. The bigger one was about 15km west and found on my return journey and the smaller one about 10km east. Lots of termite mounds around so expected to find these guys here. Don’t look at pics of them if you don’t want to see deceased snakes.

10.01.2022 This says that training is a joke then highlights the deficiencies in the application process! Two different things. And certainly should not include Julian Craig Training in that statement. We have the highest levels of safety in the industry with tools snd safety gear second to none. Do your research and you will be pleasantly surprised. ... Regards. Julian Craig

09.01.2022 Had this pic sent to me from one of my fantastic clients and friend from Woomera, SA. Taxonomically called the Strap-nosed Brown Snake - Pseudonaja aspidoryncha because of the strap-like rostral scale that comes right up over the nose. This is the banded colour form. 17 or 19 mid body scales with divided snake scale and subcaudals. (Differs from Inland Taipan - 23 mid body scales with SINGLE anal scale and divided subcaudals with a longer head and bigger eyes). They officially named the other two species that they considered to be western browns a few years ago. The other two are Mengden’s Brown Snake - P. mengdeni and the Northern Brown Snake - P. nuchalis which was the original scientific name for all Western Brown Snakes.

09.01.2022 This is not the first or the last time that a WIRES volunteer trainer has been or will be bitten! I hope he recovers well, although the inset picture shows him in a really dangerous position with nowhere to go if those snakes decide to strike out. If one of my trainers did this, they would be sacked on the spot! It is high time that the handling practices employed and taught by WIRES be looked at for safety reasons! The practice of teaching complete novices to "tail" Brown Sn...akes without prior training is dangerous and should not be allowed under any circumstances. One day courses should be banned. It is a shame that organisations cannot accurately assess the quality of training they will be receiving and trust that all trainers are good and employ the highest of safety standards. Simply not the case! If the highest quality of professional training and safety is important to your organisation, and you value that over price, then get in touch! we are the only organisation the has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee - If you are not completely happy with the training we provide, then we don't deserve to get paid! Simple.

09.01.2022 Can I please come out to play? This whole isolation thing is making me a bit stir crazy!

08.01.2022 Today I received a very special gift from a great friend and fellow snake man, David Voss from Gladstone Region Snake Catchers. So I thought I would take some shots of it with one of his favourites! And if you are in his area and need a snake removed by an absolute professional, give him a call.
