19.01.2022 It’s fun to create a freeform design such as this Sea Horse that I was asked to make in 18ct Gold. The shape is cut out, the lines punched into the metal and then it is domed to give three dimensions and make room for the brooch pin at the back. The Sea Horse has a Ruby eye, Tsavorite green Garnets down the back and Diamonds across the middle making a beautiful effect.

The rings were not stamped and black as though they had been in a box for years. I initially thought they were Silver but when I polished them they were in fact Gold!! 04.01.2022 I've dismantled a Ring and removed a myriad of Diamonds in many sizes. Then smelted the White Gold, rolled it flat so I can make the next piece of jewellery. But you will have to wait to see what it might be though!!!

04.01.2022 Unstamped gold jewellery I regularly receive items of gold that are not stamped with a carat weight, such as 9ct or 375, 18ct or 750. These come from inheritances and are sometimes made in countries such as Sri Lanka where the British settled. This does not necessarily mean they are not of value!!!!! ... So do not throw them out before you let me have a look as you never never know!!! I do a simple test to see their gold weight. It is fairly easy with a trained eye to distinguish solid Gold such as the above from Gold-plate.
