25.01.2022 Grace going through her test for this weekend's dressage comp. She and Reggie are coming along well and developing a great relationship.

18.01.2022 Have just spent the last three days coaching at Mudgeeraba Pony Club Camp. It was a fantastic event. Extremely well organised, a lot of fun and a wide variety of horses and riders, and fabulous fellow coaches. I was very proud of all my riders and their horses and their progression. A big thank you to the committee, volunteers and families, and of course my hard working horse and rider combinations. I'm sure they will all sleep well tonight. Oh, and the meals these guys provide are way too good.

17.01.2022 Elysian. One of my favourite photos, with my partner John in the background watching us in the Bronze Finals.

14.01.2022 Hope all my clients and friends had a wonderful Christmas! 2019 is upon us and many of you are already up and running with lessons and careful scheduling and preparations for competitions ahead. Let’s hit the ground running - jump high to the stars, dance like angels and gallop swifter than Rudolph!

13.01.2022 The last NDHD comp of the year was done and dusted late in October. Unfortunately Damira was a little out of sorts but still managed a 3rd and 5th place. Emma Hansen and Connie continue to grow in confidence and it was wonderful to see Sharee Verdon and Susan McClenaghan out and about. Brooklyn William’s Charles is starting to cope with his change of scene and we see good work ahead for him. Overall a very good and most enjoyable day with friends and clients.

11.01.2022 I have been a bit preoccupied lately and not posted an update on all the goings on. Most importantly was the recent final of the NDHD (Northern Districts Hack & Dressage Club) event. I was very happy to sponsor one of the classes of their Tri Series, which was an innovation to encourage riders to gradually move up to the next level in their dressage training. The series was initially supposed to run over 3 comp days, however due to inclement weather ended up being only 2. ... I sponsored the class that saw riders compete from Prep to Prelim. Huge congratulations to the final top three - Michelle Nixon in 1st, Deb Harrip 2nd, and Madi Boatwright 3rd. Brilliant work riders - onward and upward next season for you all! For anyone looking for a great club, you cannot go past NDHD. They are a grass roots club, aimed at getting riders & their horses out in the competition scene without the pressure of official competition. Beautiful grounds and supportive members, not to mention the opportunity to get great discounts for visiting coaches and use of the fantastic xc course and indoor arena.

06.01.2022 Carolyn Emerson's Delphi has been with me for a long term stay to further her training and gain some competition experience. A lovely big warmblood mare, Delphi has a particular talent and love for lateral work and will very shortly be starting her jumping training. I have known Delphi since the day she was born so she really is like part of the family.

05.01.2022 Today was the end of year awards lunch for NDHD. It’s always a lovely relaxed lunch, with lots of prizes and a chance to see everyone out of their usual competition apparel! Congratulations to all trophy and award winners and place getters. Special mention to my clients who all performed very well throughout the year - consistency and dedication pays off: Emma Hansen and Connie - Prep Silver Medal and overall 5th place Prep Senior. Pretty impressive in her first ever compe...tition year after being started under saddle. Maggie Lawrence and Blue - Prep Silver Medal. A great result given Maggie’s other club commitments. On an even more impressive note however, Maggie and Blue are the winners of the EQ Participant Prep Dressage Leaderboard so she’s off to the EQ awards night! Wow!! Laurel Davis and Ollie - Novice Silver Medal and overall 4th place Novice Senior. They are the epitome of a versatile combination - see my post to follow on their cutting work. Not to mention their Western Dressage successes. Tash Gunston and Bruce - Novice Gold Medal and overall 1st place Novice Senior! I can’t take any credit at all for their training this year, however we have had a very long history together and it’s always very heartwarming to see their successes! My own Damira was a Silver Medal recipient and overall 4th Prelim Senior. I have been delighted with her progress this year and very excited to see what next year brings.

05.01.2022 First outing for the year was to the TEG Aust Day training/competition weekend. Luckily the beautiful grounds at TEG have good areas of shade to escape what was a very hot weekend. I was very happy with Damira, who tried hard and was very sensible. Hugo was as reliable as ever and placed 3rd in his class on Sunday.... Next stop, Stanthorpe Show. Also took a lovely group around the xc which was a lot of fun and all the horses showed fantastic improvement.

04.01.2022 No place is a home without a dog. And Albert is learning from my dear old Bowie how to teach a 20m circle and keep everyone amused.

03.01.2022 This morning I had the opportunity to watch some horses work at the Dayboro Cow Horse Club. Among them them was Laurel Davis with her beautiful Ollie. It is lovely to see them happy no matter the discipline, and a great example of the advantages of cross training and being versatile.

03.01.2022 Currently at beautiful Roma Showgrounds after spending a few days at Taroom Show. Hugo did not disappoint at Taroom, not touching a rail in any of his classes and picking up a 6th place on Tues. Damira will compete in a few dressage tests tomorrow and 3 days of jumping for Hugo before heading home. Albert is becoming a good truck dog and spends his time helping everyone fill up their water buckets.... Always love this show run, great opportunity to catch up with old friends and compete at well run, friendly shows. Miss my dear friend Bev Death and I know she looks down on us and keeps us safe so I always have an early morning cuppa and an evening wine in her memory. Looking forward to the next 3 days!

03.01.2022 Boyd such great words

02.01.2022 Cooper had an undeniable freaky talent . This horse taught me about stickability, perseverance and determination more than any other. A big powerful horse, there was simply nothing that Cooper did not think he could jump!

02.01.2022 Lovely Harry came for a week’s training. He is an OTTB and his owner Emma Hansen is seen here riding him before taking him home. Really forward to helping them develop together.
