25.01.2022 Hi everyone. This is short notice but our scissor and knife sharpening specialist will be at the shop tomorrow morning 25/3 about 10-00 am to give your blades the edge they need. Please drop any scissors or knives in by 10-00 am. Thanks.

23.01.2022 Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful Autumn weather. We are going to spam post over the next few days we had a small hiccup and were not able to catch everyone up with our new arrivals. First this gorgeous top made by the fabulous Elizabeth Hemsley. A beautiful Micheal Miller cotton in the latest colours.

23.01.2022 We are happy to say we have iron on interfacing in stock again along with a lightweight denim and a chambray for those looking for a plain fabric to make masks from.

23.01.2022 Well don't we all feel like this sometimes. Good news Fit and Finish Fridays are back. We will be running Fit and Finish Fridays with limited numbers and masks again starting this Friday the 25th of September. For those of you who are not familiar with FFF's, we run a casual sewing class, you get 2 hours of instruction for $25 and you are able to start anytime from 9.30 am to 12.30pm. You can bring anything hems to be leveled, patterns altered to completing a garment start t...o finish your choice. Start before 11.30pm an extra hour will only cost $10. Numbers are very limited at the moment and it is first in best dressed if you would like a place shoot me a message or call 0429770066 P.S. doing our sewing classes gets you a 10% discount on our fabric

20.01.2022 Dear customers, do you have any pairs of scissors or knives which you think need a good sharpen so they do their job properly? Good news is that our highly skilled sharpening specialist will be here on February 8th to give those blades the edge they need. Please drop your scissors and/or knives in by 10-00 am on the 8th.

20.01.2022 Would you look at this old girl, brought in for a service recently, at 67 years old she is still producing very nice even stitching. We service all makes, model and age, our service person is a local man who is a fully qualified sewing machine mechanic with over 30 years experience.

20.01.2022 We are very excited again we have a new delivery of interfacing both black and white back in stock. We also have some lovely new prints some Liberty and plain 100% cottons in a beautiful quality.

19.01.2022 Easter is almost upon us and we will taking a few extra days to catch up with family and friends, but I will tease you with some photos of our lovely new buttons. We have replenished our stock of novelty button with these reasonably priced and very cute guys, as well a good variety of lovely new garment buttons.

18.01.2022 The last few days were a reminder that summer is on the way, great time to do some sewing to boost the summer wardrobe. We have new stock of linens and cottons both plain and printed, they are lovely, my photos do not really do them justice.

17.01.2022 Good news we have had more stock arrive we now have our full range machine needles, scissors, black thread back in stock. We are out of interfacing and it will be mid next week until we get more, we still have muslin however and our new shipment of indigenous prints have arrived.

14.01.2022 Just letting everyone know we will be open on Friday the 23rd of October. Fit and Finish will be running a great opportunity to get a project finished or one started for the wet weekend in ahead of us. Don't forget that joining our Fit and Finish classes gets you a 10% on all our fabric.

14.01.2022 We have lots of requests for lycras for a fisherman or motorcycle style sock masks we have high quality printed polyester jerseys and bambo/rayon that will do the same thing, please excuse the photo

13.01.2022 We have 3 brand new cotton prints, they are selling quickly. Please remember that no matter where you buy your fabric for mask making to wash it, not just to pre-shrink but to make sure any nasty chemicals are washed away before you breathe through it.

10.01.2022 It is a gorgeous day out side and we have had a delivery of 26 indigenous prints to make the day really special. The depth of colour and the designs are just amazing some of the richest looking prints yet, all on a high quality pure cotton base cloth.

04.01.2022 Exciting news, some old favourites have come back in to stock along with some new products. Okay so this may not be exciting to everyone but is for us who love to sew. The Kai 5000 series scissors, Birch and Clover Wonder Clips are all back in stock.... And even more exciting we have found a new source of Bias Binding and it is Australian made. This high quality cotton product is very reasonably priced and wonderful to work with and it comes in a great range of colours.

This Alder Shirtdress if from an independent pattern company Grainline Studios, they have both hard copy it will take about 4 weeks to arrive with current postal delays or they have a pdf that can easily be printed at office works. https://grainlinestudio.com/.../products/alder-shirtdress... Alder is a loosely fitted sleeveless shirt dress with two options. View A falls into an A-Line at the waist and features a curved hem, bust darts and two breast pockets. 01.01.2022 We are very excited after our December fabric order went missing in the post we have received replacement stock, which includes some lovely double muslins and some beautiful printed Japanese cottons including an indigo dyed cotton.
