25.01.2022 An internal shot from the old Bathurst Gas Works (at the base of the main building). We didn’t get a chance to go up that very dark staircase - I wish we did now. But I love how that splash of colour from the sunlit graffiti tries desperately to light up the darkness. #bathurstgasworks #bathurstnsw #bathurst2795 #centralwestnsw #bathurstheritage #heritagebuildings #oldbuildingsarethebest #visitnsw #abandonedbuilding #sunlitgraffiti #ourindustrialhistory

24.01.2022 Had the joy of this little fellow running past our kitchen window over the weekend. Once it heard the screams of delight from our little tribe, it moved like the speed of light, leaping over our fence and up the nearest tree (I had NO idea they could move so quickly)! What a privilege to live side by side with these awesome creatures. #koalas #bathurstnsw #koalasonourblock

22.01.2022 When the light is right - it's right. Regardless of whether or not you have your camera gear on you. Captured this shot in Keppel St this afternoon using my little party camera. After a perfect winters day in the Central West - the afternoon sun lit up my favourite street in town. Plus - being a Sunday afternoon, it was quiet with no cars to clutter the view. It was quite magic.

22.01.2022 There was an article in our local paper about my winning image if you are interested in reading a bit more how I captured it. Check it out http://www.westernadvocate.com.au//julias-image-well-wort/. Otherwise - here's my favourite pic from the festival.....mainly because it includes my precious family peering through the courthouse gates watching the light show. In some of the other shots, it was hard to see my girls at all because they were dancing around so much they were just a blur of pink and yellow.

22.01.2022 So the rustic Mini Family Photo sessions are filling up! I took some test shots on the weekend to give you a bit of a sense of the shoot. 15 min sessions. Prints plus 3 x high res photos. $139. 2 days only. I've wanted to offer these for a few years now. People tell me that they don't necessarily want a whole heap of photos from a dedicated family shoot. They just want one or two great images to use at Christmas time for cards or photo gifts (and to update the family album).... AND - to those of you out there who are ALWAYS behind the camera - and rarely appear IN any photo (just like me!), this is for you. And I don't need to tell you how quickly time passes - the kids are growing and changing by the day. Now is the perfect time to update your family album. More details about the sessions and how to book can be found at www.juliastrang.com.au. #bathurstphotographer #familyphotos #familytime #perfectime #familyphotoshoot #bathurstfamilyphotographer

21.01.2022 As stunning blossoms line the streets of Bathurst, proving that Spring has arrived, I thought a photo from our travels in the Caribbean, a place synonymous with vibrancy, colour and flowers would be a nice fit. Check out my latest blog at http://juliastrang.com.au/vibrant-antigua/. I've been posting a photo each week since the beginning of August so for those who are interested, there's a few for you to catch up on.

21.01.2022 So excited to be offering families in the Bathurst region mini-photo sessions for the first time. Join me in my pop up studio (in an old shearing shed close to town) for a speedy photo shoot with those you love. I've teamed up with a creative whizz to help with the backdrop - so think rustic with a touch of sparkle! It's not strictly a Christmas shoot, but it will have a festive feel. Now is the perfect time for family photos. 7th & 8th November, 2020. Spaces limited. Check out www.juliastrang.com.au for more details.

21.01.2022 After a week or so on holidays, I am back into it. Check out my latest blog photo - a yummy sunset shot from the one of Australia's most famous beach. http://juliastrang.com.au/sunset-on-cable/.

19.01.2022 We visited the National Gallery of Australia over the school holidays. And although the artwork was amazing (as always), the kids loved the hallways and ramps and space to roam more than anything! #canberra #visitcanberra #outincanberra #nationalgalleryaus #kidsloveart #kidslovespace #lovecanberra

19.01.2022 I am thrilled that this photo of mine was chosen as winner of Bathurst's Illumination Festival photo competition. Thanks to Bathurst Regional Council for putting on such a great show as part of our town's 200 year celebrations. Can't wait until the Winter Illumination in July. There will be an ice rink too! A great time to visit Bathurst!

15.01.2022 Being at home during the Covid-19 isolation period has meant that autumn has come and gone, and with it, all the colour that makes it my favourite time of year (this is not a complaint about being isolated by the way - just an observation). A trip to Blackheath on the weekend reminded me why I love the Blue Mountains, and why I love autumn! This photo, taken at the Blackheath Duck Pond - is the reflection of those beautiful trees, which I've then flipped up the right way. Just a different take I guess. And the Rocket Park - a brilliant kids playground! They loved it! Thanks Blackheath! Blackheath, New South Wales #reflections #blackheath #autumncolour #blackheathnsw #bluemountains

13.01.2022 Happy National Wattle Day 2020. A sign that Spring is here! 13.01.2022 Still a few spaces left for my MINI-PHOTO sessions THIS WEEKEND!!! Contact me to secure your session. If you're keen - get your booking sorted ASAP. It's going to be lots of fun. I've also got the lovely Florence Grace Floristry helping Amanda and I with some stunning flower arrangements to bring some colour and freshness to the studio. It will be a flurry of flowers on Friday after an early morning trip to the Sydney Flower Markets. I just love to see artists in full flig...ht. Here's a few sketches of the proposed flower arrangements. Aren't they beautiful! So excited!! Check out www.juliastrang.com.au for more details about the sessions and booking details. #bathurstphotographer #florencegracefloristry #familytime #booknow #familyphotos #bathurst2795 #bathurstfamilyphotographer

08.01.2022 We took the kids to the Windburndale Nature Reserve a week or so ago. And what an adventure it was! Clambering on logs to cross creeks, climbing onto and around boulders to reach the view. Motivating our little people to keep going when the rise was steep. But what a sunset and what a view! It's such a beautiful part of our region. I'm so so thankful to Ash's grandfather, Jack Bland, who fought (along with others) to help preserve this beautiful bit of bushland back in the 19...60's. You can see our little girl, arms outstretched and soaking up the the last of the days sunshine. That large tree behind her is hundreds of years old!! (We gave it lots of hugs.) I love having people in my landscape images to help give some perspective on the majestic view before you. 07.01.2022 And here's a photo from the inside of the Millard's building in Young, looking up towards the very top. It's great that the lower levels are open so that you can have a little look around and get a sense of the size and open feel of the building. It made me feel like I was stepping back in time and potentially on the set of "Are you being served?". #youngNSW #millardsyoung #oldbuildingsarethebest #areyouebeingserved

05.01.2022 New blog post up about our adventures with some cheeky monkeys in Gibraltar!

04.01.2022 I had the privilege (just before COVID took away all sense of normality) of capturing the old gas works site in Bathurst. Man....I love that building and that hardworn, industrial look from a bygone era. It was a photographers dream. I can't remember being so utterly engaged in a photoshoot for some time. I felt like I was travelling again. I know there are some that see it as a blight on our landscape - but I disagree. What I love most about our town is our sense of heritage.... We are lucky that we have community members, both past and present, who value this, such as the #tremainsmill crew. I'd love to see this site turned into something special using that impressive industrial structure as a starting point. #bathurstgasworks #bathurstnsw #bathurst2795 #centralwestnsw #bathurstheritage #heritagebuildings #oldbuildingsarethebest #visitnsw #abandonedbuilding See more

04.01.2022 I've always been a bit fascinated by the old Millard's building in the main street of Young. Built in 1917 by the dynamic Millard family, it was a massive, multi level shop that sold anything and everything! It sadly ceased trading in the 70's. I love the back of the building because you get a better sense of its size, as well as a view of all those windows. I think about many many faces that have peered out of them over the years. Beautiful building to photograph! #youngNSW #visityoung #visitNSW #millardsbuilding #millardsyoung #loveofoldbuildings

02.01.2022 Read this great article about Steve Biddulph's new book 'Raising Girls'. Worth a read - if you have a daughter or you are someone's daughter, or even if you know someone with a daughter - take some time out to read this!

02.01.2022 The Nishi building in Canberra is a pretty special space for photography. All the timber in this photo makes me feel a bit like I'm flying. It's definitely worth a visit. And don't forget your camera. There's a photo at every turn. #visitcanberra #nishicanberra #canberralife #canberraphoto #greenhotels #ovolonishi #greatbuildings #canberra
