23.01.2022 I find this image so powerful and extremely beautiful

20.01.2022 Hi all, well what a busy four months it has been. I’ve met and talked to some amazing people during this journey and am continually learning new birthing options each day - I have clients for close to the end of the year, however, am keen to be there for clients due May, June or July as well. If you or you know anyone that is interested, please refer them to my page to comment or PM me. Thanks heaps ... Julie See more

20.01.2022 One of the many pressure points we use to assist during labour.

18.01.2022 World Doula Week has come to an end. The doula is the most evidence based tool in the birthing room? A Cochrane review (2017) found that a birthing person who received continuous support from a caregiver were more likely to have spontaneous vaginal births, were less likely to use medical pain relief and reported higher birth satisfaction and reduced negative feelings about childbirth.... We (Doulas) offer support via emotional support, physical support, informational support and advocacy. We have learnt skills and obtained wisdom that help support birthing parents to navigate pregnancy and labour and most importantly they provide continuity of care which means they hold a safe space for birth to unfold. We are here for you

17.01.2022 21 years ago I gave birth to my son. 3.6 kilos and born within about an hour. Since this birth and with my training I have learnt so much, learnt that I can so no to medication, medical intervention, natural birthing and more importantly birth support. While I had support during this birth it’s different from having a doula who is solely there for you. With that said my husband was amazing and knew from our previous child when I hit transition (as I was sick) was there when... I went into shock and made sure I was warm. All this information as well as my own experience has helped with clients and will help with many more. We need to lean to trust in ourselves and our partners during this awesome time in our lives

16.01.2022 TICKETS ARE SELLING FAST. Don’t miss your chance to see this multi-award winning documentary in theatres. BIRTH TIME has already begun to spark a revolution to ...change the maternity care system as we know it. Exploring what it would take for women to emerge from their births feeling innately powerful, physically well, and emotionally safe. It’s time for women’s needs at birth to be heard. #ItsTime

15.01.2022 Yesterday I went to watch a documentary called Birth Time - OMG, what can I say. It has really helped acknowledge that this is the field I want to be in, shown how some of the medical intervention isn't fully given to us, how some medical intervention is actually risky and more importantly we should be asking questions. There were OB, Professors, Midwives, Doulas, Birth Parents all explaining their experiences. I've attached the link incase anyone is keen to have a look at ...it. Since doing this course I have "grieved" for choices I wasn't given with my own pregnancy/birth as the knowledge, options wasn't discussed or even given to me. Knowledge is power. https://www.birthtime.world/the-documentary

03.01.2022 Last year I finally took the plunge to make a change in my career. I have always wanted to work in the birthing industry, however due to one reason or another I kept putting it off. Well that was until last year - I started studying with Rising Vines Therapy to become a Doula and couldn't be more happy or inspired by the people I have met during this experience. I'm excited to provide support in all aspects of birthing, be there both physically and emotionally for my client...s. To teach and learn together. #doula #worlddoulaweek2021 #birthdoula #birthsupport #birthplace #antenatal #postpartum #newlife #love See more
