25.01.2022 Had the pleasure of reviewing Restaurant APICIUS last night. Its a sublime restaurant set in a romantic garden in a 19th century mansion in the back streets of... the 8th. From the street its like stepping into someones private home. As I tip toe across pebble stones on a winding path to tables and chairs scattered through the garden, a small wedding party are gathered. Beside me a loved up couple hold hands. Elegance is everywhere. The service is beyond service... its like holding someones hand through an experience and making sure they dont get lost because of sensory overload... the perfumes of the garden and the delicate aromas of creative food concepts presented by Chef Mathieu Pacaud. You could easily spend your childrens inheritance here... in one night! But by the time youve entered the front gates, its too late, money has lost all value. The gentleman beside me, just before dessert, so overwhelmed by by his experience, proposes marriage. She accepts. I taste small gifts of vegetables dressed in delicate broths and sauces. Carrots are covered in honey and passion fruit.... creamy and summery sweet. All are wickedly pleasing to the eye. Theres 4 ways with seafood as a teaser starter. The Urchin Consommé is a taste I will yearn for, for all my remaining years. The John Dory melts in my mouth sweet and moist in a delectable seafood broth and rocket pesto. And dessert... expectedly wicked and fabulous. A brittle and chewy meringue case filled with wild strawberry cream and an aloe Vera sauce Apicius, 20 Rue Dartois

24.01.2022 This post is so worth sharing. Pass it on. This time will pass people

24.01.2022 Wow what a day... an hour and a half drive into the High Atlas to visit a boutique hotel and villas complex. The position is more than the proverbial location, ...location... it sits so close to heaven one wonders who might be popping in for afternoon tea. Architecturally its splendid. Simple straight up and down lines. Sensible, because to over fuss would be to miss the point of the priceless views. Rooms are large and furnishing, fabrics and art are in hues of blue. This is a Morocco escape worth the drive into the mountains. But if you go, dont rush the journey to get there... it in itself is a reward. And, stay at least a few days and leave the chaos of your life behind you. L'Amandier Hotel

21.01.2022 This time last year I was in Paris sharing a moment with special friends and the Director Manager of this beautiful restaurant. Paris was a buzz with tourists dining on the seine in Bateaux Mouches. The weather warm and balmy. None of us could have imagined the state of the world... just 12 months later! Life is for savouring.

It reminds us that people come into our lives for a reason, a season, and sometimes a lifetime, and that the size of our journey is in allowing them in and knowing when to let them go. Hope you love it. Julie

20.01.2022 A little something special before sleep

19.01.2022 Sensational night at Restaurant Le Club above Bateaux Mouches Pier, on the Seine. Summer arrived in full force in Paris today and I couldnt imagine a more spec...tacular location to start the season. Ambience, food, service and an unmatchable view to the Eiffel Tower make this a must do experience on your Paris itinerary, but you must book in advance. Its an alternative to having dinner on a bateaux mouche on the water. Both are unmatchable experiences. Christophe Mary https://www.leclubrestaurant.paris/

17.01.2022 So many reasons why I love coming to Paris. My travels have given me a tribe that from the moment we met we stuck together like glue. Distance has never bothere...d us...we just have a deep need to love, nurture and spoil each other. I love how conversations with strangers has opened doors to each other. ... and so it was in Paris tonight one of Tanias Lebanese feasts for Julie with all the flavours of Lebanon she knows Julie loves. Love you my Tania See more

15.01.2022 Some people chase the best croissant in Paris, but me, I chase the perfect strawberry tart and I think Ive found it. At Baroche Bistro, Rue De Ponthieu, 8th. A... not too sweet shortbread base covered with rhubarb purée and topped with raspberries and sweet strawberries garnished with just the right amount of pistachio crunch... my search is over. A starter of Sea Bream Carpaccio with Black Sesame Seeds... and Ill definitely be back for the Apple and Rhubarb Pudding See more

13.01.2022 My PARIS neighbourhood. The 16th. Trocadero. Love it to bits. Love walking past Maria Callass apartment and blowing her a kiss. What times they must have been when she peeped through her windows of a fifth floor apartment when Onassis came to town.

10.01.2022 Pulling down the curtain. Grateful for this day and ending it music to send me off to sleep. Sweet dreams late night owls

09.01.2022 Cant believe this is 4 years ago!!! On a cold grey Melbourne day it is a reminder of all the things I love about Morocco. The warmth, the mountains, the green, the blue of a grand sky, being out and about with owner of Luxury Tours Morocco, Mr Nourdine El Jakani, finding new highlights for their luxury tourists. Here we are at Sir Richard Bransons Tamadot... a luxury accommodation stop on the way to the desert camps. Its also a reminder of the first destination that I...ll run to when this coronavirus is behind us. Private message me if Morocco is on your travel wish list and youd like to know more.

07.01.2022 Such brilliant memories of time in Portugal... Insider Cooking School a must if you are in the area of Sintra.

04.01.2022 Skies over Paris today danced between grey and blue but couldnt dampen the spirits of two girls out and about on the town.

See more

03.01.2022 Im on the island Sipan. Some of the stately homes remain. Some of these islands were targeted in the last war. Some of the buildings still wear the scars of those times. Today, all is peaceful for a wander and coffee on our way sailing north. I love these old stone buildings in all states of dilapidation and repair. 02.01.2022 Snaps of moments around Paris that took my eye... a week goes super fast in Paris

02.01.2022 Travel . its never boring!

02.01.2022 Croatia has more than 1000 islands. Each island has its own history and always a vibrant story to tell. And the water around every island is as crystal clear as this. Some of these islands were targeted in the last war. I have a fetish for old wooden fishing boats and old stone buildings. Hope you like. I am currently sailing, 7 days, Croatia.
