25.01.2022 10 COMMANDMENTS OF SPRAY TANNING 1. Wax or shave 24 hours before your tan! Why? This can leave the pores open & cause brown spotting & uneven tan. 2. Exfoliate the day of your tan! Why? Removing the dead skin cells from your skin will give you the most even tan & is like applying paint to a blank canvas without flakes or oils. Exfoliate underarms really well, see no.... 3. DO NOT have a hot shower as this can leave the pores open. 3. DO NOT wear perfume, body lotion or deodorant! Why? These products will effect the solution penetrating the skin. The aluminium in deodorant can make your skin turn green 4. Wear loose clothing to go home in. Why? To prevent marking your tan with straps or tight clothing. Ideal wear is loose beach dress, sarong, dressing gown or even pj’s. Dark is ideal too. 5. Relax, relax, relax! Most important whilst your tan is developing is not to get it wet. So no washing dishes, no sweating. Do not freak out at the developing tan. It will look too dark but this is just the residue left over that will wash off with your first shower. 6. Avoid Sodium Lauryl Sulphate when you shower. Why? This product is added to many beauty products as a foaming agent but actually strips the natural oils out of your skin. This will reduce the life of your tan. 7. Be gentle with your skin! Why? Rough towel drying or shaving will gently exfoliate your skin reducing the life of your tan. So pat yourself dry, rather than rub. If you must shave, do so as lightly as you can. Hot showers will strip the natural oils from your skin and make it dry, fading your tan quicker, so keep them just warm. 8. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Why? This will slow down the shedding of your skin (which usually takes 10-28 days). So moisturise twice a day or at least once. This will also help your tan fade evenly and not patchy. Remember to moisturise from within too.....drink lots of water! 9. Use tan saving/extending products. Why? By using SLS free products as in no. 6 will keep your tan longer. Using a tan extending moisturiser from about day 5-7 will top up your tan making it last longer. 10. Limit use of pools and spas. Why? Chlorinated pools and spas will ‘bleach’ the tan from your skin. Keep the time in them to a bare minimum.

Towels only get one use per client before washed. I use hand sanitizer before each client & wash hands with soap & water after every client. This will still be standard
