20.01.2022 Celebrating 26 years in the industry with a look back at where it all began. So glad the old sandwich board price out the front is a thing of the past ... $50 circa 1994 Reno’s galore, bye bye orange doors, hello pergola over the barbecue, verandah and more and then there’s all the fun times (not) customers showed no respect ... oh the stories we could tell ... but we’ll save those stories for another day

20.01.2022 We’re super excited that the Central Deborah Gold Mine reopens tomorrow and so too does ticket sales for their new ELF ACADEMY!!!

20.01.2022 Two! That’s how old our branding and logo is! We launched it two years ago today. It was a long awaited early Christmas present to ourselves in 2018. If it’s possible, we’re more in love with it now than ever before. ... Thanks to our good friend and legendary local graphic designer Chelsea of Studio Ampersand who helped us bring the vision to life. The initials our business name are hidden in the icon of our logo, can you spot them? In the two years we’ve had it, we’ve proudly rolled it out in many areas of our business. From business cards and signage of course, to our napkins and stationary, uniforms and coffee cups, our menus and marketing. It means more than ever before these past 7 months as we stepped away from our franchise agreement and now proudly stand independent. Independent with the same high standards, friendly team and guest experiences we have always offered. As travel is allowed again and borders slowly open up, we can’t wait to welcome our much missed regulars and all the first timers we’re yet to welcome for the first time. What out next week for more super cool activations of our classy in colour, classy by name and classy by nature branding!!!!!

Rest assured we're here, ready and waiting to welcome you back to Bendigo and more importantly, the Julie-Anna. 14.01.2022 Please, please, PLEASE!!! When you’re booking accommodation for a trip away, PLEASE remember to book direct. We’re super excited to finally see an increase in reservations, how ever so slight. BUT we’re a tad disappointed that some of you (too many of you) are still using the big brother group sites.... Please stop! Those sites don’t own our businesses, they’re a necessity evil in the world of marketing our business. AND every time you book on them you’re paying too much. You see, they charge a commission. A large commission that goes offshore. That’s right, your hard earned cash isn’t even staying in the country. At a time when Australian small businesses need your help, PLEASE remember to book direct with us, the small family run, local business. I could rant on about this alllll day everyday, I’m very passionate about educating alllll the peeps. Planning a trip to Bendigo? Do yourself a favour, save some cash AND support local small businesses just like ours. All the links to a great deal above in our bio, you know the routine!! rad social media tile created for us by the same legend that created our logo ... Chels @studio_ampersand

12.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: just in time for the school holidays... our courtyard swimming pool is open ... for guests staying that is Our courtyard renovations are nearing completion too. 12.01.2022 ‘tis the season for double donuts!! Wow Victoria, keep up the good work!! Let’s keep working towards donuts for Christmas .... The more donut days we have, the better the chance of recovery for small business and our recovery. The harder we work to keep this virus at bay the more chance we have for a happy and reuniting Christmas with loved ones. Thank to local graphic design legend Chels @studio_ampersand for creating this little bit of donut Christmas magic, way back on day 13 of double donuts! It’s very hard to look too far forward in our industry at the moment. After all the stop/starts and no travel guidelines we’ve incurred this year, we’re grateful for every single day of double donuts, for everyone whom is getting testing and staying at home until they are well and have results. We need our fellow Victorians to stay safe and well so that you can travel and we can do what we do best and welcome you for a restful nights sleep after an fun day exploring our great state!

09.01.2022 As travel restrictions have eased over the past week for regional Victoria, we are still waiting patiently for the phones to start ringing again and customers to return for overnight stays. 03.01.2022 5, no (correction) 25 little ducks went out one day ... Looks like it’s afternoon tea time at the lake. We’re wonder how Mother duck can afford to feed a family of this size. Between home schooling and a school holidays the Thurgood kids have been eating us out of house and home....

03.01.2022 Thursday throwback - alllll the way back to where it all began for the Slattery’s. Today marks our 26th anniversary since Michael & Jennifer packed us up and moved from Mount Gambier. 26 years ago today our family took over the Campbell Motor Inn in Swan Hill. They’d never done it before and I (Kristyn) hated them for it (teenage years), yet here I am following in their footsteps for the last 13+ years. The first pic was for the Guardian newspaper as the new owners of the ...Campbell. Keep swiping to see the beautiful motel we took over. I’m really wondering where my love for the colour orange comes from ... how did those bathroom tiles, room doors, washing machine & dryer not turn me off it it was everywhere even in the kitchen. Check out that canary yellow spa bath ... in the room & the decor, bedspreads and old school tv’s . Over the 10 years Mum & Dad transformed the Campbell significantly, I’ll share more on that later. Mum & Dad worked bloody hard all day, everyday. To learn the business, to work and improve the business. It really is a 24/7 labour of love in this industry. We’ve endured soooo many changes in the industry over our journey but one thing hasn’t changed ... booking direct with the motel is still absolutely best practice. Happy 26 years to us! We’ve made so many friends along the way, from staff to guests and industry peers! P.S. I don’t hate you for it anymore Mum & Dad P.P.S. Covid, it’s time to leave, we’re done with you!
