24.01.2022 A fun ritual incorporated into some wedding ceremonies is Jumping the Broom. With roots back to African and Celtic cultures, the couple literally jump over a broom to signify crossing the threshold and their entrance into a new life, thereby symbolically "sweeping away" their former single lives and entering into a new life as a married couple. Brooms are often decorated with meaningful objects or mementos from the couple and their families. 23.01.2022 Wedding ceremonies often contain a ritual that has meaning for the couple, from unity candles, sand ceremonies, butterfly releasing and many more. But the most unusual ritual I came across this week is the Guacamole Unity Ceremony! Linking the ingredients of an avocado, lime, s&p, onion, tomato and jalapeño to represent aspects of a relationship is clever and fun! Mind you, an Icelandic celebrant in one of my groups did note that avocados are a risk in Iceland, either they... are nowhere near ripe or overripe and ruined ... this could ruin the moment a bit let me open this avocado of unity ... ah, not this one, oh, not this one either ... this one is definitely not going to work ... now finally, this one ....!!! 15.01.2022 As a lover of diamonds and platinum, I had tiara envy of Meghan’s bridal head-piece! The Queen Mary Bandeau Tiara was made in 1932 and the center brooch is from 1893. Made of diamonds and platinum, the tiara is in 11 sections with interlaced ovals. The centrepiece is detachable and the rest of the tiara was actually made specifically for that centre brooch, which was given to the then-Princess Mary for her wedding to Prince George.
