24.01.2022 #RelationalLeadership #MondayMotivation Not everyone is motivated by money or finance. Some people want to feel like they’ve contributed.... Others like to be noticed for their work. Still others want to have security in their job. For many it's the feeling of making a real difference to someone's life each day. And some simply want the satisfaction of completing a task or goal. There's as many motivating reasons as there are people out there... great leaders will connect with their team and understand what makes them tick. Why do you do what you do? #HappyMonday

23.01.2022 New businesses need cash. Some people might be lucky enough to pull it off on the smell of an oily rag, but mostly it’ll cost you more than you’ve anticipated. Don’t fall into a hole of no cash. Plan and have enough!

23.01.2022 Defining workplace culture is a bit like trying to nail jelly to the wall. It’s the one thing that’s usually never written outright in a role description or a vision statement, yet it permeates every single aspect of your work environment. What aspects of your workplace culture do you LOVE? #loveyourwork #communityserviceswork

23.01.2022 The closed culture. Have you ever been in a workplace where it felt ‘taboo’ to mention certain things? I’ve been in workplaces where people are scared to ask questions, or felt they’d be victimised if they reached out for support. Perhaps you’ve experienced something similar? Don’t let this be your business!... Create an environment where open and honest conversation is encouraged and remember, your team takes their cue from you!

23.01.2022 Mindset is key to personal health and business health. Life's too short to waste energy on stress; choose happiness . #businessmindset #businesshealth #healthybusiness #businesscoach

22.01.2022 *BEFORE* you advertise #RecruitReady #communityservicesrecruitment #recruitingTIPS Can you clearly articulate where this role sits in your organisation, and what KPIs might be associated with it? It might seem easy to say, but surprisingly it's a common recruiting mistake and the best time to fix it is right now...... Don’t frustrate your new team member - get it sorted before you advertise!

22.01.2022 This month I’ve been drilling down on workplace culture and ways to improve your communication. One way to guide your improvement is to apply the two magic questions to each interaction and see how you went. 22.01.2022 Things don’t have to be the way they’ve always been. As restrictions start to ease a little and we adjust to life these days, what do you want to change about the way you do business? #mindsetmatters

20.01.2022 Is your team feeling the heat of #covidstress? It’s times like these that conflict can start to arise. The good news is this: If your team is in this kind of conflict, it generally means the bond is strong enough to allow it - so there is solid potential to grow forward. Most of the time when splinters start to occur, it’s simply an opportunity to ‘define and refine’; that is, to define your purpose, and refine your process. 11.01.2022 2020 taught us a lot. One HUGE take home was how important it is, ESSENTIAL in fact, to be able to run a business that’s future fit. A future fit business can handle change. 09.01.2022 Are you recruiting to your community services organisation? Here's a helpful thought: . Is your onboarding system functional and efficient? . What about this qu...estion: have you ever experienced an onboarding process that wasn't functional? If you answered 'yes', then you know what this is important, even in the early stages of recruitment. . Many people rely on old checklists (with a bunch of unclear or irrelevant dot points), and these can leave your new team member overwhelmed or confused. Recruiting is the perfect time to consider whether your onboarding process needs a few tweaks - not on their first day of work! . #tipsformanagers #peopleforpositions #recruitready #communityservicesjobs #recruitingforcommunity #communityservicesspecialists See more

07.01.2022 ‘What happens at work, stays at work’ Easier said than done! But here’s a helpful tip for your day: give yourself time to debrief.... If you commute by train or car, put on some music or a podcast that helps you let go of the day and focus your attention elsewhere. A walk home is a bonus - walking off all that ‘stuff’ so your head feels ready for home when you arrive. Perhaps it's a little ‘ritual’ for yourself when you do get home - like putting on the kettle, lighting a candle, hitting a golf ball (yes, they have those cool little practice gadgets for the backyard!), or taking a shower before you get stuck into making dinner. Whatever it is, as a caring professional, it’s important to keep work at work, and practise healthy ways of managing our emotions. #taketimeforyou #workstaysatwork #HappyFriday
