12.01.2022 I remember the first time hearing Brene Brown say "the story I tell myself" and having to stop everything I was doing. It was a massive statement... I use that learning in the training Mental Health First Aid I do, as we often don't step into helping someone, because of the stories that we tell ourselves about what's going on. Last week's MHFA training session was an inspiration for this article, it reminded me of "What are we informing our story with?" How do you know that... the story you are telling about yourself is true and an accurate reflection of who you really are? That's the answer I like to get to in my coaching practice... If you would like to know, I'd love to hear from you https://www.julie.gillespie.direct//the-power-of-informed-

09.01.2022 Introductory Offer: I'm building my coaching practice this year, so I'm looking for a few clients who would like to try out my services, give a little feedback, and maybe recommend me to their colleagues. Through other platforms I am charging $150 for this intro offer, but here, I would like to offer this at the cost of the profile: $60 Who's up for it? ... If you would like to know more about this, please get in contact: [email protected]

08.01.2022 After finishing my last career back in 2017, I did not know what I was going to do. Over the past 3 1/2 years I've been trialling, testing, (failing), getting back up, and figuring out what it is that I want to be great at. I couldn't choose just one thing! (Ha!! I can hear my Mum laughing!!!). So, this past year was about building the big dream, realising the vision - believing in "Build it and they will come"... Hence the title Mental Wellbeing Consultant | Trainer | Coac...h. This past week I finished one of my latest accreditations (I'm not saying last, there is always something fun to learn about!!). I completed the training for the DiSC and Motivators assessments. These are fantastic profiles that help us to understand 'how' (DiSC) we turn up, and 'why' (Motivators) we turn up. I'm coupling this with the Strengths Profiling to understand 'what' we turn up with. These will be forming the foundation of my coaching practice. Helping people to find their Self, and to harness their Mental Wellbeing in a way that empowers them to flourish, despite the challenges of life. If you want to know more, drop me a line, come say hello, or send me a message :)

03.01.2022 I love to dig deep into an idea sometimes, and I usually do it for my own enjoyment. This time, I had to share as I had such a light bulb moment when I realised, my ego doesn't nourish any one. I would love to hear your thoughts on the topic, either comment or DM me if you prefer. If you would like to know more about my coaching practice, please connect in and say hi! Happy to help individuals, teams or organisations.

03.01.2022 #Empathy or #Compassion I've spoken to a few people recently about the difference between these two things. I use this information when facilitating the Mental Health First Aid Training, we discuss how we can prepare ourselves to be the most help to those who need our support. I take them through Daniel Goleman's definitions of Empathy to explain: Cognitive empathy = Simply knowing how the other person feels and what they might be thinking. Sometimes called perspective-takin...g ~Daniel Goleman, renowned psychologist and author of the 1995 book Emotional Intelligence. Emotional empathy = when you feel physically along with the other person, as though their emotions were contagious. ~Daniel Goleman (This is what many people feel they should do when helping someone, however, it can be overwhelming and be inappropriate in certain circumstances - as it can be psychologically unsafe for both parties). Compassionate empathy: With this kind of empathy we not only understand a person’s predicament and feel with them, but are spontaneously moved to help, if needed. ~Daniel Goleman. This is the GOAL as it considers the whole person, and puts them in charge of, if they want help and how they want help. Would love more discussions around these definitions!! #wellbeing #mhfa
