13.01.2022 This is an important position statement for all women and doulas. Many hospitals are restricting a woman to only one birth partner in the room. Many many women need their doulas present in their birth - they have formed important and valuable prenatal relationships, and have based their ideals and values of their birth around having a doula present . The mothers in the recent births I’ve attended have all told me they don’t know how they would have got through their natural birth without the additional support . I hope this statement works to make an impact in these uncertain times
