Already purchasing one of my paintings when their first grand child was born, this family commissioned another for the birth of their second little grand daughter. Dog has a special place in my heart as he was the original subject matter that launched my career as a serious artist - I like to play with different colour palettes periodically and I am actually loving how 'vibrant' the greys are in this painting...if that's even possible! I won an award for a very similar work a number of years ago and always wanted to paint it again! So glad it is going to a lovely home in SA. My eyesight is definitely not what it used to be though. 18.01.2022 Well I’m sharing the result which means huge success...so happy with our stairwell makeover Porter's Paints Liquid Tin was just what we wanted. I did 5 thin coats to achieve this result and it’s so interesting and changes with the light. I didn’t want to tile the stair risers so I sourced vinyl adhesive risers from QUADROSTYLE in the US... they have loads of patterns to choose from. And the cool round pull door handles are from So Watt Design Studio in Marrickville. And the artwork is mine...

This artwork has been my happy place today :)

In this third depiction of the Flowers for Mum series, this sweet little girl gleefully claps as her big brother puts one of the flowers they picked in their mum's hair - such an endearing moment... 07.01.2022 I went to start a new painting and noticed how artistic my paint rag had gotten - it's just an old towel. it reminded me that anything can be reinvented into something new. Never underestimate the potential of the old rags in your life...they may just be waiting patiently to be made into masterpieces!
