14.01.2022 My painting of Frida Khalo is coming along. So far I have used acrylic paints and impasto technique for the flowers. It’s February and the humidity is making it... overly difficult to blend. Tomorrow I am going to use my beloved oil paints to the background and her face. It will be easier to blend the colours and get her expression softer and correct some alignment issues. Overall I’m happy. See more

05.01.2022 How the impressionist saw colour has influenced this series of artworks. Characteristically, the paint is applied with a palette knife and a ‘wet on wet’ technique with quality oils enabling colour to be applied with a great deal of flexibility.
