24.01.2022 My cherry blossom painting is completed. I have really enjoyed this composition with the real hero being the buds. This photo was taken during a trip to Japan in cherry blossom time 3 years ago. It was such a wonderful experience & I am still inspired by these beautiful blossoms. 18.01.2022 SOLD! Resplendent My large resin piece has been purchased by a Melbourne buyer. Its a beautiful peony I photographed in the UK a couple of years ago when I attended the Chelsea flower show.

16.01.2022 Just wanted to pop this video up so you can see some of the detail in this commissioned piece. People often ask me how long it takes to do a painting. Well to give you an idea this cherry blossom took about a month to paint. There was also approx. 15 hrs just working out the design. I use all my own reference & travelled to Japan for cherry blossom time a couple of years ago so had heaps of photos (about 2000) to design this piece from. I probably used about 14 different p...hotos as this was quite a long panel 183 x 92cm & loads of small detailed blossoms. It kind of took on a life if its own in the end & was telling me what it needed if you know what I mean. I really enjoyed painting this piece as it was a challenge & the colours were fabulous. The best part about finishing a commissioned piece is seeing the reaction from your client. She was so thrilled & also hearing the comments as the rest of the family saw it. Makes my heart happy... Its a beautiful peony I photographed at the Wisley Gardens while in the UK to attend the Chelsea flower show. It was fabulous to see them growing in situ.
