25.01.2022 Our Crab class is our beginner class for ages 3+ and often the first class where children are swimming without a parent in the water. With a maximum of four children per class, there is a large focus on conditioning and building the childrens water confidence. We start with fun activities such as blowing bubbles, which encourages the children to put their eyes in the water and extend their breath control for long enough to kick with their eyes down. By the time they graduate from the Crab class, the children will be able to propel themselves through the water with their arms and kicks, swim unassisted for 5-7m, and float on their back with little support.

25.01.2022 Can you believe school holidays are almost over already? Thankfully the summer fun doesnt have to end well see you at your swimming lessons for fun and learning in the pool all year round! #swimby2 #jumpswimschools

25.01.2022 To our valued JUMP! Community, Due to government requirements surrounding COVID-19, our swim school is now closed until further notice. At this stage, no date has been provided as to when we will reopen, however when the government has made this decision, you will be the first to know. ... We will miss seeing the adorable, smiling faces of our little JUMP!ers. However, were getting to work to have water safety resources, so the importance of learning water safety skills is not lost at this time. We'll also have some fitness options available for all members of the family during this period when activity related businesses like ours are restricted. We will communicate further information about this initiative soon. Please continue to keep an eye on your inbox for further ongoing information from us, and rest assured we will continue to update you, as any further government decisions are announced. Thank you all for your valued support to date. It is a really difficult day for our business today but we are committed to playing our part in halting the spread of Coronavirus. From all of us at JUMP! Swim Schools

24.01.2022 We love our amazing swimmers and families! Here are just a few reviews our swim schools received last month. It makes us so happy to hear about how much our customers love coming to JUMP!

24.01.2022 In these uncertain times, theres one thing were certain of: we will uphold the Pinky Promise that we have made to our JUMP! community. Perhaps the most vital part of our Pinky Promise at this time is to keep our swim school clean, tidy and hygienic. Weve enhanced our strict hygiene standards even further to ensure were meeting the hygiene and social distancing guidelines thatve been set by the Australian Government. Our second Pinky Promise is to only teach a maximum o...f two lessons at a time. We run small classes in our private centre, with no more than six students per class, and in some classes as few as three. This means we have very low patronage at any one time. Finally, we promise to teach your child with love and care as if they were our own. Well continue to provide high quality swimming lessons to your little ones, ensuring a safe environment, for as long as the Government deems it safe to do so. 23.01.2022 Consistency is key when it comes to learning to swim. Studies have shown that children need to attend more frequent swimming lessons and practice in order to be able to swim at safe levels, above and beyond just summer or school holiday intensive lessons. At JUMP! our lessons run all year round, to ensure your little ones retain and develop their skills faster. Just keep swimming!

22.01.2022 FUN FACT Did you know that breaststroke is believed to be the oldest of strokes, dating as far back as the Stone Age? The breaststroke kick is considered to have originated by imitating the swimming action of frogs, hence it often being called the frog kick!... As well as being a competitive stroke, breaststroke is an important lifesaving skill and is particularly effective in rough water.

21.01.2022 Sinky Toys We use fun activities such as rescuing sinky toys from the platform or bottom of the pool to encourage children to build their breath control and mobility skills. Practiced in our Tadpole, Turtle, Crab, Octopus, Frog, Stingray, and Marlin levels, the children progress from eyes in and blowing bubbles for up to five seconds while grabbing a sinky toy from the platform to independently submerging and swimming to the bottom of the pool to retrieve the toy, holding their breath for longer than five seconds. This activity can be adjusted for all skill levels, to ensure children are able to progress at their own pace.

21.01.2022 Happy World Gratitude Day! Were spending today feeling incredibly grateful for the wonderful parents, kids & staff whore the heart of our community. Practicing gratitude has so many benefits including boosting your immune system, lowering stress levels & improving sleep which we can all use in these turbulent times! Who knew that expressing gratitude could offer so many amazing benefits? Wed love to hear what youre most grateful for today. Let us know in the comments below

20.01.2022 Hi Everyone! We miss you all.

19.01.2022 Did you know that an octopus has three hearts? More room to love swimming as much as we do! Our Octopus class is for children who can independently propel themselves through the water by kicking and paddling. Children in the Octopus class will learn the basics of freestyle, floating, and back kicking independently. While an Octopus might have eight arms, there are a maximum of four children in our Octopus class, to ensure minimal distractions and more one-on-one time with the teacher.

19.01.2022 Putting your little one into consistent swimming lessons as early as possible is one of the best things you can do for their wellbeing. Mum Ashleigh from JUMP Swim Lara has seen that firsthand! https://www.kidspot.com.au//fb7ebfc13349516f00b23b69b4097c

19.01.2022 Were JUMP!ing with joy! Our frog now has a name! Well done beautiful Lyla from JUMP! St. Marys for naming our frog Frankie. Check back in tomorrow to name our Stingray! ... #swimby2 #jumpswimschools See more

17.01.2022 Did you know that 85% of Australians live within 50km of the coast? Swimming is a big part of the Aussie lifestyle and a fun, engaging way to bond with our little ones As youre enjoying the pool or beach this summer, remember that children under five should always be within arms reach, and children under ten should be actively supervised at all times.

15.01.2022 Twinkle, Twinkle We first introduce our babies to the concept of back floating in our Duckling class. During the activity Twinkle, Twinkle the babies are placed on their backs on the floating mat and the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is sung while the babies look up at mirrors, toys, or their parents performing the twinkle action. The outcome of this activity is for babies to achieve self-awareness in the water and is an introduction to independent buoyancy. It develops the babies confidence to float independently as they get older.

14.01.2022 Happy World Kindness Day! The purpose of World Kindness Day is to celebrate good deeds in the community, along with the positive power & common thread of kindness which binds us.

14.01.2022 How important is year-round swimming? A recent study by Deakin University found that Primary school aged children who had established foundational swimming skills - such as gliding, kicking front and back and corresponding arm actions - and then only attended school intensive swimming programs without an additional weekly swimming program for the remainder of the year, tended to plateau or even lose the skills they had gained. At JUMP! we recognise the importance of ongoing consistent learning, which is why we operate year-round and dont run on terms meaning you can start your little ones swimming journey at any time!

14.01.2022 Big Arms Children start learning how to do big arms, the first step towards learning the freestyle stroke, in our Octopus class. Starting by using a kickboard as an aid, children in the Octopus class will work on developing competent big arms and are encouraged to take a breath every three strokes.... Once they have mastered the basics, the children will move on to practicing their big arms without a kickboard. When they are ready, the children will move up and further develop their freestyle technique in our Frog class.

05.01.2022 Monkey Monkey! One of our favourite activities in our lesson plans is Monkey Monkey. This activity is not only good for developing hand-eye coordination and upper body strength, it teaches the children a critical safety skill in showing them how to get back to and grab onto the wall should they ever fall into the pool. We do this activity in our Tadpole, Turtle, Crab, and Octopus classes to make sure the children are confident before moving onto more advanced swimming skills!

03.01.2022 Today is World Wildlife Day! World Wildlife Days theme for 2020 is "Sustaining all life on Earth", which includes all wild animal and plant species as key components of the world's biodiversity. Did you know we have one of the most biodiverse areas on Earth and the worlds largest coral reef system right here in Australia, the Great Barrier Reef? To celebrate and help our little JUMP!ers learn about the importance of marine life, were encouraging them all to draw their favourite sea creature for us to display in our swim school. Ask for a drawing sheet at reception when you come in for your next class!
