25.01.2022 Self-Made Burrito Bowls! Atleast once a week at Jumpstart Childcare Centre Menai the children engage in a group experience to expand and focus on their self help skills. Today at the centre the children had created self-made burrito bowls for lunch.. The children had gathered together to set up the table for lunchtime as they had demonstrated their initiate and self interests of the table props. The children had each selected their toppings and expanded their trial and error... and hand eye coordination skills to combine the ingredients for their lunches.. It was great to see the children at the centre demonstrate these skills through today's self help experience as they had enjoyed creating their delicious burrito bowls!

25.01.2022 At Jumpstart Childcare Menai we love to encourage community involvement! We were very excited to receive a special package from our local Woolworths supermarket who also deliver our childcare centre the freshest ingredients for our menu’s! This delivery from Woolworths had included ingredients to make playdough as well as natural snacks for our friends to enjoy. Our children at Jumpstart had joined together with their educators as they had read aloud the instructions, and helped to combine the ingredients provided to us!

22.01.2022 Today we had commenced with our NAIDOC WEEK CELEBRATIONS! Our children had focused on the traditional flags and Then Rainbow Serpent’. At Jumpstart Childcare today the children were introduced to dream time stories, dot painting, and collaging the Aboriginal Flag with their class groups. 18.01.2022 At least once a week at Jumpstart, we encourage our children to participate in an array of activities and experiences that encourage the development of their gross motor ability and coordination. Today the children had expressed an interest in creating a larger than life obstacle course! With the assistance of their educators our very clever kids gathered a variety of resources and equipment, of which they arranged in a way that they could manoeuvre through. What resulted was an engaging and exciting course, that challenged and encouraged our children to reach their potential, whilst also providing them with an abundance of laughter!

18.01.2022 SHAKE AND MOVE ARE BACK AT JUMPSTART CHILDCARE Due to high interest of Shake and Move, the program will now be attending Thursday’s and Fridays at 10:00am for children aged 18months - 6 years! To secure a spot in this program contact your centre supervisor today for an enrolment form.

17.01.2022 We are often asked by our parents and caregivers how we get our children to eat their entire bowls of lunch including their vegetables. Our secret to this is ... allowing children to participate in creating their own menu ideas and lunch selections. Our children are encouraged at least once a week to decide on a buffet style lunch as they join together to combine a selection of nutritious and healthy ingredients to create their self - made lunch.

05.01.2022 Today during our morning school readiness session our preschoolers had focused on their names. The children had expanded their trial and error and cognitive development skills as they had immersed themselves into this mornings name creation experiences. The children had confidently been able to trace and write their names, and had also used their magnets and name cards to match and combine the letters to create their name. As we believe in learning through play, it is important to assist our children to learn at their own pace and level. This promotes the children to achieve better learning outcomes and success for both school, and beyond!

04.01.2022 It is .... DIWALI WEEK ! Today the children at Jumpstart Childcare Menai had made Rangoli with their educators in celebration of Diwali. The children had learnt about the traditional customs and acts of Diwali, and had spread the Rangoli sand through the entrance of the centre to promote a welcoming and calming environment for our visitors and selves! The children had also used the sand for sensory play today as they were very proud of their efforts.
