24.01.2022 Remembering the late, great Spencer P Jones today. Heres a throwback to the last time he called past the store, in 2015. On stage he was towering and fearsome presence; away from it he was an affable sweetheart. From The Johnnys to The Beasts to his own stellar solo work (check out Rumour of Death), his legacy looms large and he is sorely missed.

24.01.2022 The incomparable James Baker dropped in for a rummage today and was only too happy to have a snap beneath our treasured Scientists family tree. James grew up in East Fremantle and was privy to the burgeoning punk scene in both the UK and USA where he spent some time in 1976. James has served as the trusty back-beat for the Victims, Scientists, Hoodoo Gurus, Beasts of Bourbon, The Dubrovniks and more recently The Painkillers. James Baker is a national rock n roll treasure and a pure gent.

23.01.2022 Got a sweet bunch of wax heading for the racks this weekend. Heres a couple first edition pressings in near-mint condish looking for a new home.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Lucky Oceans for his nomination in the Best Blues & Roots Album category for the 2020 ARIA Music Awards. The album features guest spots from Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers, Don Walker, Vika & Linda, Tex Perkins, Matt Walker, Jeff Lang and Eugene Hideaway Bridges, all accompanied by Lucky's distinctive and sublime pedal steel. Purple Sky was one of our top selling local releases of last year and we're stoked to be stocking it. 20.01.2022 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: It’s come to our attention that we’ve had a few records shoplifted in the last couple of days. We understand that records can be expensive, and that you can’t place a monetary value on the music you love. All we ask is that you consider buying a record as an investment in faith - not just in the artist and grooves themselves, but also in the larger community banding together to deliver the thrill, joy, and permanence of the hallowed artefact into your hands, onto your turntable, and (hopefully) into your heart. If you discover a must-have amongst your crate-digging at Junction that is a little out of your budget, please speak to one of the friendly guys behind the counter. We’re more than happy to work out an arrangement to ensure you get the music you need! Thanks gang x

17.01.2022 Terminally cool now and for always.

17.01.2022 Deeply saddened by the passing of Fremantle music legend Richard Lane. Richard was an irreplaceable part of the fabric that makes Fremantles music scene such a hive of creativity. From his trailblazing work in The Stems, to his tireless hours encouraging and mentoring young musicians at Penny Lane Music Workshop, his presence will be sorely missed. Our love and condolences go out to Richards family. Vale x

10.01.2022 WE HAVE A WINNER! Congratulations to Tim and his partner for speeding through the Junction Rag crossword and claiming the $100 voucher. While the main prize might be gone, anyone that returns a complete and correct crossword before close of business tomorrow will win one of our new Junction tote bags! What are you waiting for?

10.01.2022 ‘Unity’ is Gordon Koang’s 11th album, and first since seeking asylum in Australia. Gordon celebrates his homeland of South Sudan with the use of traditional Nuer instruments and rhythms. But he also recognizes the country’s dark side. Over the galloping beats and jangly thom (a Sudanese string instrument), there are depictions of the harrowing reality of civil war. Despite the fact that it occasionally reflects on somber themes, ‘Unity’ ultimately points the listener in the direction of hope. In store now thanks to our friends at Music In Exile. Dig in!

09.01.2022 Massive respect from the Junction crew to the late, great Peter Green. As B.B. King put it, He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats. Vale!

08.01.2022 Super excited to be involved with this one. Grab tickets quick, cos word is they’re moving faster than Santa’s reindeer on Christmas night!

07.01.2022 Hey gang - just a little heads up about Record Store Day. Unfortunately, one of the shipments has been delayed nationally which means a significant number of the titles we were hoping to get before Saturday now wont be available until mid-late September. BUT! We will still have a selection of the special releases, plus a massive secondhand vinyl drop with plenty of coveted goodies. Were also discounting all new and secondhand vinyl by 10%, and new and secondhand CDs by 20% all weekend (with the exception of RSD releases, sale items, and any reserve items). Please note, we will not be doing any holds on the RSD releases we do have, so get in early! Cheers.

01.01.2022 With thanks to Just Add Water Records, were stoked to be stocking new reissues of Lobby Loydes legendary Coloured Balls. Their catalogue is notoriously hard to track down, so dont count on these lasting long. Weve got copies of Liberate Rock on both standard black, AND collectable red wax. Hungry for more? Weve also got new pressings of 1976s great First Supper Last, and Rock Your Arse Off! - a radio broadcast which captures Loydes Balls in full-flight at Melbournes Festival Hall in November 72. Heavy!
