09.01.2022 Red Bag Appeal Wesly Mission estimate that currently, over 700,000 Queenslanders are experiencing poverty. We are donating Christmas food items to Wesley Mission’s Red Bag Appeal to help give struggling Queenslanders a Christmas meal to remember. We are pitting class against class again, in a competition to see which class gets the highest donation amounts and win lunchtime ice blocks!... Collections will begin Monday 9th November, and finish on Monday 23rd November (the Monday of Week 8) Each class will be given an item or category of items to bring eg. Long life custard, cordial or tinned meats. Each family/student will only need to purchase that one item and bring in as many of them as they wish. At the end of the 2 weeks, we will count the items and announce the winning class. The winning class will receive a lunch time ice block each, however, more importantly, all students and families who chose to donate will know that they are making a real difference to a family in need in Queensland to have a brighter Christmas! Wesley Mission will be wiping down ALL donated items (from us and everyone else) before they are given to a family in need to ensure families remain COVID safe. 03.01.2022 Thanks to RACQ for popping into Junction Park State School this week as part of their terrific road safety program! The kids loved it! With road safety week in... full swing and school holidays just around the corner, I want to remind everyone when they get behind the wheel to drive so others survive. The Palaszczuk Government is rolling out a record $23 billion for better roads and transport, but we all have a role to play in keeping safe on our roads. To find out more about road safety head to: https://streetsmarts.initiatives.qld.gov.au/
