22.01.2022 SIL VACANCY IN GREGORY HILLS. A beautiful, light filled home in a quiet residential street in Sydney’s South West growth area. Short stroll to Gregory Hills Town Centre and Howard Park, and close to a range of community and recreational facilities. It's a large house shared by only three residents. Three living spaces and two beautifully appointed bathrooms. Would suit a young man eager to participate in recreational and social activities and ready to develop greater skills of independence. To find out more go to https://thejunctionworks.org//Gregory%20Hills%20SIL%20Flye or phone 02 8777 0500 and talk to our Customer Engagement Team.

20.01.2022 WE'RE SO PROUD OF OUR DAPPER GUYS who volunteered to escort our fashion parade models on the catwalk last Friday night. It was a new experience for most of these young men, but they mustered the courage required to perform in front of a room of strangers. And they did a superb job.

20.01.2022 The Junction Works, Karen Kriss from UNSW and Tulgreen Disability Services present Dream States Come True, an exhibition of new work by emerging artists from The Junction Works (Sydney) and Tulgeen Disability Services (Bega). Artists from The Junction Works collaborated with UNSW Art Design Lecturer Karen Kriss on project Dream States for Vivid Sydney 2019. As part of the concept design for Vivid, artists Tommy Duong, Melissa Morrison, Peter Pang, Michella Rolls and Michael... Tran created the works in this exhibition featuring whimsical characters and worlds through collage. These characters were transformed into large scale animated projections on the side of the ICC Sydney building and nineteen screens along Tumbalong Boulevard. Take a look on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVQyRuBCKxw&feature=youtu.be This work for Vivid Sydney 2019 has now been made into a new work called Dream States V2.0. This will be part of Bega Valley Regional Gallerys Festival of Open Minds and Parklight Friday 13th September 2019. Dream States Come True presented by Bega Valley Regional Gallery and supported by ClubGrants NSW runs from 11th September to 27th September 2019 at YourSpace@Tulgeen, 14 Taronga Crescent Bega, NSW.

20.01.2022 TJW CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: TJWs monthly Parents and Carers Coffee Club has been cancelled for March and April. We will advise when the Coffee Club will return. It is with great regret that we have had to cancel the upcoming Camp for People with High Support Needs. We will reschedule this camp a soon as we can.... Our Community Participants, Day Program and Community Living (Accommodation) Services will be avoiding crowded places from today including shopping centres, movie theatres and bowling allies. Participants supported through our community participation, centre based programs and our community living (accommodation) service will have their temperature checked every morning to check for fever. A fever of 37.7C is indicative of illness. Children do not appear to exhibit signs of having Covid 19. Taking a childs temperature is not necessary. Our Disability Services programming team is currently looking at ways in which we can reduce the intermingling of participants from different sites, particularly through our Austral Service Centre. This is the next stage of our social distancing practices and will be in place by next Monday 23 March.

05.01.2022 AT THE JUNCTION WORKS OUR DOORS REMAIN OPEN as we introduce the Coronavirus crushing Rainbow Festival for participants of our Adult Day Programs, commencing Monday 23 March. To support the mental health and well-being of our participants at this time of disruption - whilst effecting social distancing polices - each Day Program will be allocated a specific day of the week to enjoy the festival program at our Austral Service Centre. No other participants will be allowed on ...site for that day, reducing the potential for cross contamination. A range of festival workshops will be undertaken in small groups. Frequent handwashing and temp taking will occur (Staff and Participants). And each evening the Austral Service Centre will be deep cleaned and disinfected ready for the next days Day Program group. Just a reminder too, that all TJW vehicles are being sanitized after each use. The Rainbow Festival is planned to run over the next six weeks. Its important that the men and women we support through our disability services are well supported during this confusing time, and do not become isolated or overwhelmed. We believe that this program initiative supports these objectives. See more
