25.01.2022 Cordyline fruticosa "Caruba Black", we instanly fell in love when I saw her pictures online. Very dark Purple, less strappy with the same glossyness as other varieties. Cordylines are easy to care for just keep them from direct sunlight and like all of your other houseplants don't over water. Cheap at $26 with dark complexion and a slim build, I don't want to talk about it any more.... Pm us to make a booking to view our range.

25.01.2022 Our potting room is in full swing this week. We've got plenty of Ferns coming your way as well as palms and a new Cordyline.

25.01.2022 Microsorum mussifolium "crocodyllus" fern, this hardy fern grows in tropical areas of southern Myanmar, Indonesia, Borneo, Philippines, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, New Guinea, Thailand, and a rainforest valley near Cairns, Australia. Prefering shade and enjoying water this bad boy will have you mesmerized by its abstract glossy leaves that closely resemble crocodile skin. Complete with pot and potting service at only $24 this guys a steal. ... Pm for availability.

24.01.2022 Terrariums? Yeah we can do that too. At Jungle Shelf we prefer an open lided style so that we can see our petite biome plants in all their glory, no more issues with condensation or air flow. Just mist once a week and they'll be golden.

23.01.2022 Check out the fronds on this Dypsis Lutescens "Golden palm", perfect for the patio. Drought hardy and requiring full to part sun, won't spike the kids or dogs but will require abit of protection from brisk winds. She'll become an interesting focal piece as she matures with a clustered growth pattern and reach of 6m.

22.01.2022 So HR is still mad it's a week sleeping in the shed for me . Spathiphyllum cochlearispathum common name "Peace Lilly". My Biology Teacher in high school had these everywhere we're talking north facing low light classroom. They were growing in mason jars, vases both big and small all hydroculture (in water). Easiest plant to care for of all the house plants and not having a true flower instead a modified leaf called a bract. Personally I prefer them potted as I can and will ...just stare at those moist roots for days. If that's for you we can definately arrange a "wet root" for you. PM for details or to arrange a booking/custom order.

17.01.2022 Ganialoe Variegata is a type of dwarf aloe originating in South Africa where they are hung in homes to warn of fertility which is indicated by flowering. Branched and hanging when in bloom flowers range from pink through yellow. $17 buys you an old wives tale to tell, along with a low maintenance, drought hardy, shade lover, perfect for your shelf just watch out for those flowers ladies.

17.01.2022 To ensure your plant has the kick start it deserves, we condition our potting mix so that we have better water retention by adding perlite at 25%. We then add Compost and sand at 25% and finally soil microbes and trace minerals to help ward off any fungal rot or disease. Our water lovers will get extra special attention and recieve Horticultural charcoal at the base of their pot, to help clean up the water left behind. This prevents stagnation from occuring and helps to bala...nce PH. Please Share our page to help us continue growing. PM for any custom pots or to schedule a viewing time.

15.01.2022 Philodendron "super atom" it was only a matter of time before these super tight clusters of joy made it onto our shelves. Just like their cousins they like to dry out between showers, this will help to prevent root rot due to over watering. It's simple when you can see the top most layer of soil dry out insert your finger to the 1st joint if it's still wet don't water. $21 Fully potted and ready for their new forever home.... PM us for more details or to arrange a custom pot.

14.01.2022 Here are the stars of last nights drunken potting sesh. On display in our "junk box corner". Proving that even a couple of spare chairs and a rickety old Junk Box can become an area to host a bit of green. We had a great time photographing and potting these for you.... Please PM for details on how to get your hands on these as our shopfront is not yet open.

11.01.2022 Introducing the Pilea peperomioides "Chinese Money plant" and Syngonium "Pixie" Podophyllum. Every shelf is a landscape of it's own, uniquely yours with its own little ecosystem. These "foreground pots" add a level of depth and believe it or not humidity. By simply placing your plants further or closer apart you can adjust the humidity of your shelf. It really is a case of the more the merrior, as your collection increases so to will the health of your plants. I hope you've ...noticed the Fittomia in every pic as well as the antique oil jug they're not just there to look good, they have an important job, offering a sense of scale. I was going to use a banana as a point of reference for scale, but I thought a in a white box alongside our plants just wasn't us. I mean I'm definately game to stick my banana in a ... NO I'll stop, I'm being reminded by my HR team not to make such a rude remark. We are "Jungle Shelf" your local plant micro business, each plant and pot is individually picked, some plants are chosen for their size. PM us for bookings or Custom orders.

09.01.2022 We're proud to say that we now get our water amendments and growing media from Aquaponics WA and Hydroponic Xpress, a Canningvale based Hydroponic Supplier with an amazing range. Checking their Banana Dome out is a must.

09.01.2022 Seriously got to stop with the crude remarks, I may be a Chef by trade but that lingo's got to go. This Adenium obesum or "Desert Rose" (1st pic) has a neon flower and a beautiful swollen basal Codyx, indicating that it was infact grown from seed. These are some of our cheapest plants, the range is Basic whites. ... It's not the first time I've named something so simply. Before Covid we shared our greenhouse with a Duck and a Goose, respectfully named Duck-duck and Goose. Unfortunatley Goose was getting too game to fight with our dogs, Alice and Teddy. No necks were cranked don't worry, they now live with a lovely family in Busselton and are doing well. PM if you've got an unruly Duck or Goose we could talk about butchery or perfectly cooked Duck l'orange . Alternatively you could just ask to make a booking for a custom order.

07.01.2022 Mondays are hectic, slept rough in the shed, up at 8 to feed the chooks, say good morning to HR, then it's off to the nurseries to see what's growing on. Errands and sanding the rest of the day. Think it's time to unwind in the potting shed with a nice drop. Who says you can't drink on the job? I've been doing it for years. ... PM for a custom pot or availability.

04.01.2022 Mum had no idea she was a florist, but boy does she have an eye for great looking dry plants and arrangements. Check these beauties out @themicrocollective opening this Thursday.

04.01.2022 Philodendron "Prince of Orange" if your a sucker for colour or just looking for that pop of orange we've got you covered. Leaves shifting between bright orange and green depending on the light. Philodendron are easy to care for just allow the roots to dry between watering and give them moderate filtered light.

01.01.2022 Phlebodeum aureum "Blue Star", lacking blues? Look no further than this hardy epiphytic fern. Striking lateral Visuals we just had to add them to the collection, you can find these potted or in hangers. As an epiphytic plant they would typically grow along side a host plant, sharing a room amongst anothers branchs. ... They are not however parasitic so wont need to root into the host trees Cambium layer to get there nutrients. Instead they will absorb moisture and nutrients from the air making them an ideal hanger for your patio and an even better room mate. Just Pm and make a booking to view and collect.
