25.01.2022 Penalties for Player Misconduct In Mod footy, if a player does something that would normally be a send off offence in international footy, the referee will request the coach to replace the player for the remainder of the match. This is an automatic 1 match suspension.... In addition, any player replaced for remainder of the game for abuse of the referee or other official will receive an automatic 2 match suspension and may be requested to attend the CBDJRL Board of Management to determine if a longer penalty is required. Weve had a couple of players in the last 2 weeks replaced for punching. Needless to say, theyve watched their mates play without them. Play as tough as you like BUT stay within the rules. Easy!

22.01.2022 Bad News! Delayed start to community football in south-western Sydney Wednesday 15 July 2020 The NSWRL has today announced a two-week delay to the planned 18 July start (this weekend) of community football competitions in south-western Sydney due to the current COVID-19 outbreak in the area.... NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said the health and safety of participants, officials, spectators and the wider community remained the primary concern, with the competitions for under 6s to A-grade in these areas now delayed until 1 August. The competitions affected are within the Wests Tigers Macarthur and Canterbury Districts and Group 6 Region. We have always maintained through this pandemic that we would remain flexible in our approach and fall in line with the most up-to-date information from the Government and health experts at that time, Trodden said. While everyone has worked hard to get footy re-started and we would love to be kicking off across the entire state this weekend, it is important we remain vigilant to stop any potential avoidable spreading of the coronavirus. Individual teams (from those areas) playing in Combined Conference competitions will not be able to participate for two weeks until 1 August, but those competitions will continue under rule changes implemented by the NSWRL to adhere to government COVID-19 guidelines. The matches missed will be registered as a draw for both teams This means no games for us from U5s to A grade for the next 2 weekends. Clubs can continue to train as per normal

20.01.2022 Code of Conduct The Canterbury-Bankstown Junior Rugby League is conducted under the NRLs Code of Conduct. The NRL Code of Conduct provides all participants players, parents, coaches, referees, spectators and officials with some simple rules that assist in delivering a safe and positive environment to everyone involved in the game. Within that safe environment, every Rugby League participant has the best chance to enjoy the game. By accepting the standards of behaviour in... the Code (when you register your child), we provide opportunities for young boys and girls to grow on the field - we build good players, good citizens and good communities in which Rugby League is a social asset. Penalties for breaches of the Code range from warnings, suspensions, personal fines, club fines, placing teams on substantial dollar bonds to preventing your child from playing rugby league in CBDJRL via de-registration. At present, we have a number of team officials who have been given holidays from the game ranging from 4 weeks to the entire season. Please be thankful we are actually playing this season, leave the referee alone and treat all participants with respect. Its just footy!!

18.01.2022 Peter Moore Academy Postponed The PMA was scheduled to start tonight however the response was not as large as expected and we have decided to postpone the sessions to February and March 2021. We also realise December is not a great time to be running things but this has not been a typical season! Just a reminder, the PMA will be open to ALL players born in 2005 and 2006 (this season’s U14s and U15s). The academy will be run over 6 nights and involves fitness testing, and skil...ls based defence and attack drills. We are hoping the benefits will include: Extra training for the kids that love footy, an opportunity for these players to improve their skills, a chance to see if they want to and/or can go to the next level of junior reps, and from a senior club point of view, allow our pathways and development guys a chance to further check the local talent pool in preparation for Harold Matts and any NSWRL inter-district development games that may come up. Though we are disappointed to be postponing to February, it will give an extra benefit to our local clubs by providing some quality pre-season training for their players. Hopefully 2021 will be a normal season that finishes at the end of August and we can run the PMA in October. Fingers crossed!

16.01.2022 Back to training With many teams now returning to training, players, parents, and guardians need to follow the Covid protocols and procedures set by each Club. No doubt your club has communicated these to you. Your Club volunteers have spent many hours preparing their plan to meet NSW Govt, Local Govt, NSWRL and CBDJRL guidelines to get YOUR KIDS BACK ON THE PARK. They are now spending extra time at training to ensure their plans are followed for everyones safety so we can continue playing footy. PLEASE follow their requests. And keep your Covid opinions to yourselves - we are sure they are very insightful but the club workers have heard them all before!! Just follow the rules and be thankful were back out there.

14.01.2022 For new players to Rugby League When you registered your child on-line to join one of our 12 local clubs, you needed to provide a photo of the player (head and shoulders only) and a copy of the childs birth certificate or current passport. At present, we still have around 280 new players sitting in our pending section. This is because they have no suitable photo and/or identification document. No doubt your Club secretary is chasing you to get a photo and/or birth certi...ficate to add onto your childs player profile so they can be ready for kick off on 18 July. Secretaries and registrars are super busy at the moment so help them out by getting a photo and ID document to them. If in doubt, check with your secretary. With school hols approaching, a good time to get it sorted. See more

13.01.2022 Weekend Update With the weather good and the grounds dry, we dont have to worry about game, time and venue changes - all games per published schedules. However, we do need to worry about the NSW Government Covid guidelines that we need to follow for rugby league to continue for the rest of the season. ... It is a requirement that we limit spectators to one parent only where a child requires parental supervision during a sporting activity. All clubs have Covid procedures in place for training and game day AND have worked extremely hard to get the season up and running. We realise this may be inconvenient BUT the alternative is our footy finishes early. No one wants that so please follow the Covid rules. Your co-operation will be appreciated by all, especially the players! This is for information, please do not post questions, comments etc. Weve heard them all, just follow the rules! THANK YOU.
