Dr Haytham El-Sakka graduated from the University of Western Australia Dental School with Distinction and has been engaged in further research study in the field of Oral Medicine. He is very pass...ionate about dentistry as it is both a challenging science and art, involving direct people engagement, with an ever increasing reliance on state of the art technology. Some people are surprised to learn that tooth decay and common forms of gum disease are largely preventable through good regular personal oral hygiene, and Haytham focusses on preventive dental care and patient education. As a gentle, caring, and compassionate dentist, he enjoys creating a stress-free experience, even for patients with anxiety or for those that may have neglected their oral health. Dr Haytham El-Sakka previously worked at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia as a clinician, and also had the privilege of supervising student dentists. He regularly attends a broad range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses/training and maintains contact with the Oral Oncology Research Group at the UWA Dental School. Dr Haytham El-Sakka is a member of the Australian Dental Association and highly values the growing network and interaction with other dental specialists and academics. At Jupiter Dental, we recommend six monthly check ups with your dentist, which when supported by a good at-home routine, will help to keep your mouth healthy. Even if you have no teeth regular checkups are important to check the soft tissues in your mouth. Oral cancer examinations by your dentist are quick, painless and crucial to detecting it in its early... stages. During your routine checkup of your teeth and gums, your dentist also visually checks your lips and face for signs of spreading beyond your mouth. He or she may also palpate the neck and jaw area, and examine both the top and underside of your tongue. These oral cancer screenings should be done every six months.
