25.01.2022 Kelley's update on Rwanda since COVID
25.01.2022 Meet Bara. She is 32 years old and lives with her husband and two young children in a concrete room in a huge public housing complex on the edge of Chennai. Her... husband is a day labourer (when work can be found) and she works as a housekeeper and has recently been training as a seamstress; a new training course being offered in her area through the Foxglove Project. She is sharp and a quick learner. Although new in the course, she is already ready making under-sari blouses for local women to bring in extra income. Earning 50-60 rupees for every item - about AUD$1 a day. She is beginning to see the possibility this work offers for a new life, a different future for herself and her family. As a child, Bara was a good student. She completed high school and even achieved entry to college but marriage and children shifted that plan. For a time, she was drifting and the future seemed hopeless. But today there is a new determination. She is taking up new opportunities with passion, courage and self-belief. And her advice? Learn vociferously. Work hard. Manage well. Live at peace. She makes her future. See more

13.01.2022 Message from Bevin Dear Church Members I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Our guest speaker is Colin Mugridge. Please note that there will be morning tea at tomorrow’s after-service fellowship. Unfortunately due to our COVID-19 Safety Plan, we cannot serve those lovely tasty homemade goodies. Packaged food only (e.g. packaged party pies/sausage rolls, biscuits, cakes etc.). There can only be two people in the kitchen serving food and they need to wear a face mask and ...disposable gloves and use tongs to place food on disposable plates. People will not be able to help themselves. People will also need to take their own cups for tea/coffee but there will be disposable foam cups for visitors. Trust you will enjoy the service, worship, communion and our friendly fellowship at the conclusion of the service. Please stay afterwards as there will be a short special meeting to deal with two important issues. Yours in Christ See more
10.01.2022 News from Bevin regarding Church and COVID 19 It was absolutely exciting to recommence Church last Sunday. I am sure all of you who attended last Sunday were richly blessed and enjoyed fellowshipping with each other once again in the house of the Lord. Just a reminder that we are still under the Jurien Bay Nondenominational Community Church COVID Safety Plan sent to you last week. Two major changes to our plan is the number of people now allowed to attend indoors events (max...imum of 100) and the strict limit of a minimum of 4sqm per person is now 2sqm per person. We can all be seated a little closer together but total numbers are still partially restricted because of the 2sqm per person rule. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Our guest speaker is Pastor Ian Kirk from Bassendean Church of Christ. Please note that there will be no morning tea at tomorrow’s service. God bless Bevin See more
10.01.2022 Great News from Bevin Great news everybody!. The Church Committee met this week and we have made the decision to recommence Church this Sunday 31 May. Praise be to God!! I am sure that just like me you miss the company of people and are anxious to bust out of your house and find comfort in a place you find solacebeing in the house of God with the people of God. The author of Hebrews wrote, Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And... let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:23-25 (NIV) The important thing to remember is that the church is God’s idea and it is His work in the world today And now I'm going to tell you who you are, really are. You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out. Matthew 16:18 (MSG). God is certainly able to take care of His church and help the church weather whatever circumstances life may throw at it. Covid-19 has shaken our world and we are not sure what the post coronavirus pandemic environment will look like. But God promises to be with us no matter what comes our way. Now more than ever, we’re reminded that the Church isn’t about the building. It’s the people gathering to worship our God who is faithful, in control, and with us wherever we are. God is in control and we can trust in His plan. In relation to plans, we have had to complete a COVID Safety Plan to be able to use the facilities of the Jurien Bay CWA Centre. Please read very carefully the attached Jurien Bay Nondenominational Community Church COVID Safety Plan. However, as plans are being made to return back to normal, whatever that will be in the future, there will most likely be lots of changes as the Premier has just announced that West Australians can gather in groups of up to 100 people indoors (non-work, indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people will be allowed, a five-fold increase on the current 20 person limit.) from June 6 as the state moves to phase three of relaxing coronavirus restrictions. Finally, Praise God for the modern age of technology in which there were so many ways for us as a fellowship to stay connected with each other, to share our faith, praise and worship especially when we needed it. Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday. Please note that there will be no morning tea this Sunday. Yours in Christ See more
